Routine gizmo maintenance and reminders

20120526-170341.jpgBefore I travel overseas I like to update my phones (USA and UK my old iPhone 3gs) and make sure everything is working well. I do the same to the laptop, of course.

I did a jailbreak on my old phone and installed some packages. However, by doing this you can open up some security holes. You never know when some enemy out there, seeking whom he may devour, is scanning about for phone your signals looking for holes through which they can slither. I took some steps to secure the phone. Most of you would never have to think about this.

I had to use the phone’s terminal mode to get at the system files. I then changed the passwords in admin areas.

The iPhone has a default password, btw, and it is not a secret at all: alpine

Some people modify their phones but leave the passwords unchanged. Not good.

I also installed MultiIconMover which is handy.

In any event, I changed my passwords.

We have to pay attention to security for our electronic things!

Change your online passwords occasionally.

Change your computer and phone passwords occasionally, even routinely.

So regular maintenance on your computer, cleaning old files, checking the registry, checking for malware, defraging, and then BACK UP EVERYTHING! Remember that Jesus saves and you should imitate Him. If you don’t, you’ll be sorry. It’s

Once you are done doing all these things, examine your conscience and GO TO CONFESSION.

Golly, you travel overseas a lot – lucky you. I bet any number of those who respond would love to have the money to do the same… [Wouldn’t they just? That’s right, I’m simply rollllling in dough! I have so much money I burn it instead of charcoal when I fire up the barbecue. You, on the other hand, while you pursue your studies are probably paying your own flights, tuition, room and board and taking no salary. Because of that it might be hard for you to use my donation button, but if you have a little extra…. o{];¬) ]

I believe I saw your name mentioned as a speaker at a June 9 conference in London as announced on Rorate Caeli blogsite. Safe travels and a fruitful conference. Post some good pics of the pub grub.

I’m just leaving confession right now. I usually go weekly, and was out of town last weekend, thus unable to go. I felt so dirty rolling in sin. Funny how frequent confession can do that to a person.

I can’t stress the frustrations of something important not being saved. I could have sworn I saved a very important and very detailed and time consuming package of paperwork at work. I went to go finish it off only to discover it didn’t save and has to be redone. Thankfully it’s something that actually has the 6 months of statute of limitations, so I have more time to redo it. Grrr!

Looking at the number of emails you have, it appears that enemy is just about to email you.

Went yesterday. In the course of Googling “examination of conscience” the day before, I found this one and really benefited from it:

    http://www.ewtn.com/library/spirit/examcons.txt

I found the lists arranged according to faith, hope, and charity to be a useful supplement to the more familiar examinations according to the Ten Commandments. I hope it can be of use to someone else as well.

I thank G-d, Father Z, that you have the resources to get around the way you do. I get a lot from your blog- the travels, the birds, the food, the faith. Just remember us here in NYC, Father, whenever your laid over at JFK. Take that ol’ Airtrain to the City and say that 6 PM EF at Holy Innocents for us. Folks, if you think the good Father here can run a blog well, that you have GOT to hear him preach!
