This Fr. Roderick guy is supposed to pretty popular [ o{];¬) ].

“This blog is rather like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” - Fr. Z

Well, to save the liturgy we do need to go back to the future.
Father Z has played Halo? The world just became a tiny bit more awesome in my mind.
I have played through all the Halo games, ’til the last, on Legendary. I just acquired the latest and I am getting through it.
That’s impressive! You’re no slouch as a gamer if you’ve cleared those games on Legendary, Father. [Yep. All of them. But I haven't done all the "skulls" stuff.] I haven’t played Halo 4 yet. I’m gonna pick up a used copy at some point, though. Maybe this summer when I’ll have more free time.
inexcels: I am patient. I snipe. I am am really good sniper. I’d be a good partner in collaborative play, though I can’t get that going.
Father Master Chief!
[Kinda like that.]
What have I done?! [A line from the perhaps the best movie EVER made.]
…
Well, if we’re going to talk about this stuff, I once heard of a translation of the first two Legend of Zelda games into Latin…
“Well, if we’re going to talk about this stuff,” I say as if it’s somehow a bad thing. (I mean I didn’t mean that to come off quite that way, just that it’s a little weird to imagine Fr. Z playing videogames. I mean what would he do, quote Caesar at the aliens? 8^) I suppose inexcels is right, the world is a little more awesome.)
Cobbler: You have no idea what I say to aliens as I slay them… or in which language.
Heh heh. Well Father, now that I think about it… I’d love to know.
I actually have an online ID. I haven’t used it for a while.

There’s that word again: “heavy.”
You know Father Roderick?!!
He’s the most famous priest in geekdom, for his Harry Potter and Hobbit podcasts.
Father Z! and I have been praying this Lent for a certain son of mine to stop playing LoL; he is in the top 10% in the world now. Well, maybe it comes with celibacy.
[For me it came from oppressive boredom while on an exercise bike or cross-trainer machine.]
Fr. Roderick has listed the twittering Cardinals, now silenced for awhile.

Ah, well boredom is something I have never experienced. Good luck with both training and gaming.
Oh wow. Father, are you able to maintain a steady pace while gaming on bike? I seem to slow down as enemies approach.
@Supertradmum:
Look at Fr. Z’s latest Feeder Feed: there are some cardinals that won’t stop twittering even during a conclave.
Konichiwa: Yes, I can keep a steady pace. That hasn’t ever been a problem for me. However, I now no longer have the same arrangement whereby I can do the exercise thing near the XBOX. It has far less attention these days as a result.
I’m more of a single player guy and prefer PlayStation.
I someday hope I can make a game based on the Inquisition that’s somewhat like Heavy Rain meets L.A. Noire. It’ll force players to learn an actual thing or two and there’s room for plenty of sequels. I planend to call it ‘Inquisitor’ but sadly that name’s already taken for some fantasy dungeon crawler game with no bearing at all to the name whatsoever…
The Gospel is dearly needed in the Gaming Space, otherwise everyone seems to be getting their Church History from Assassin’s Creed, *shudder & horror*, historical realism my foot, but it’s nice to know that Ubisoft washes its hands of responsibility with a disclaimer that the game was made by people of all faiths. Well I can certainly believe that!
There’s also something to be said for a subculture whose podcasts officially can’t say “Merry Christmas” for fear of offending people, yet freely everyday casually take the name of Jesus Christ in vain combined with a buffet of offensive phrases that usually contain the letter ‘F’.
Father Z you never cease to amaze me!
Fathe Z, either you mean Bridge Over the River Kwai or The Revenge of the Sith, and I honestly cannot believe you mean the second…..
oops need an “r” up there…good night!
Makes me wonder what a UNSC Chaplain would be like.
