ASK FATHER: Corruption, sodomy, drugs, infidelity… How can we trust anything from Rome? Wherein Fr. Z rants.

action-item-buttonUPDATE:

Feedback from a reader…

In a recent post, you respond to a question about the distress that is caused by the latest homosexual scandal in the Vatican. You pointed out that the enemy will attack, “in particular,” those who have influence over others. Among the list is the father of a family. Well, I’m one of those, and your comment hit the mark. I went to confession almost immediately after reading your article. As I’m responsible for souls, I need to make sure I can pass muster myself. I’m grateful for the push. Please keep on pushing.

My work here is done… just started.

From a reader…

QUAERITUR:

Father, since converting through RCIA and beginning work within my parish, I read your blog twice a day for insights into the struggles within the Church today. You regularly give insight into the the conflicts surrounding curial politics, the shakeup at the CDF, AL, the St. Gallen group, and the Lavender Mafia. But, like Sherlock Holmes’ dog that didn’t bark, this horrible incident in the CDF apartments is becoming a deafening silence. Please give us some perspective: what does it say about the CDF, the curia, and Vatican leadership that this sort of abomination was taking place within their headquarters? How can we trust what comes out of Rome?

Alas.  It’s enough to make a grown man cry.  Truly.

These days I get a lot of questions like this in my email and it is hard to know how to respond.

Let’s get real about this.

The Enemy, Satan and the fallen angels of Hell, hate the Church in way that we mere humans cannot fathom.  Their purpose is to diminish in any way they can the love that God will be shown in the End, when Christ will take all things to Himself and submit them to the Father so that God will be all in all.  Each time a soul fails at death and is excluded from the Beatific Vision (and let’s not kid ourselves that that doesn’t happen), the Enemy exalts with the cry, “That’s one more that You won’t have!”

To accomplish their hellish purpose, the Enemy will attack everyone, of course.  But the Enemy will attack in a particular way those whose influence extends over many souls.  Take down an individual, okay.  Take down a father of a family, better.  Take down a parish priest or bishop, even better.  Take down officials in the Church’s HQ so that massive scandal can be broadcast by the MSM… a damned ‘good’ day’s work.

The Enemy will attack the Church in every way through her weak link: people.

The Enemy is like a roaring lion, roaming about seeking whom he might devour.

Tu autem, Domine, miserere nobis!   But Thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us!

That’s my cry, too, for I too am a sinner in need of forgiveness, conversion and grace.

Let’s be clear about another thing.  Just because the apartment in which the deviant sex orgy and drug stuff took place is in the same building as the offices of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), that doesn’t mean that the CDF was in any way involved.  I worked in that same building for years, in a different office.  There are a few residential apartments in that building that have nothing to do with the CDF.  People with clout (or people who have people with clout behind them – so to speak) have enough pull to get an apartment there.  But, those are not “CDF apartments”, in the sense that the CDF controls them so closely that the CDF can be implicated in what goes on in them.  In my time working in that building, there were in these apartments retired cardinals and long-time, Curia officials, none of whom worked for the CDF.  Those are not “CDF apartments”.

That said, keep in mind that the building in which the CDF is located and the residence where the Pope lives (Santa Marta) are really close to each other.  Enemy demons can attach themselves to places and objects and infest them due to sins that are committed in them and with them.  They stick to those places like vile, hell-leeches and claim the right to be there because of those sins until their hold is broken through exorcism.  If I were Pope, I would weekly send exorcists around the curial offices to clean house.  If I were a bishop, I would weekly send priests around blessing the work spaces of the chancery and sprinkling holy water and even blessed salt.  Pastors of souls should do that for their rectories.  Fathers of families should ask the priest to bless their homes.  Hell and demons are real, friends. And they really hate you.  Fight back.  Use sacramentals. Even more powerful than sacramentals are sacraments.  So, given the great opportunity to wreak havoc on a spiritual level, would horrible homosexual sins (demons can be “specialists”) inside the precincts of Vatican City, literally a stone’s throw from where the Vicar of Christ lives and works and eats and sleeps, not be just the thing for the Enemy?  You bet it would be.

Demonic infestation of the same building where doctrine is overseen for the whole Church and abuse cases are dealt with.  The same building in which you find the offices of the Commission which oversees the use of the Traditional Roman RiteCoincidence?

About all the rest of the stuff you mentioned and more… I could give a list, but you know what they are… these also are manifestations of the ongoing mission of Hell to take souls away from God.

This is about Hell and souls, Heaven and souls… souls… souls.

We can get down in the dumps about what is going on or we can rise up and fight back.

I want to keep as many of you out of Hell as I can and enjoy the glory of Heaven with you when our time comes.

For now, however, we are in The Fight Of Our Lives.

So, you read about awful things in the Church and heresy and stupidity from her duly appointed pastors?  Fine.  If the Church is being attacked with such fury, and from the inside, that means that the Church is exactly what we need to belong to!  Paradoxically, the corruption we see and the infidelity we read of are proofs of the Church’s divine origin.  And since Christ founded the Church, that’s the Church I want to be in, flaws, wickedness and all.

Next, battle isn’t pretty.  Just as a soldier in the state of grace who does his duty knows that even in battle he is in the “safest” place he can be, so too we know that we members of the Church in the state of grace are in the safest place we could be, even though corruption and infidelity and disgusting things are going on at every level.  Since the Church is of divine origin, there is no place else we should ever want to be.   We can be sad sometimes at the results of the battle.  We can be afraid sometimes in the midst of the battle.  But let us not waiver in our trust in Christ’s promises.  Heaven is our reward, not worldly security, even in the Church.  The Lord is my strength and shield and my trusting heart exalts in Him and with song I’ll give Him thanks even for the terrible battle that it falls to me to fight as His priest.

Moreover, Rome is only Rome.  The “Vatican” is only the Vatican.  Curial structures are not of divine origin.  Christ promised nothing to the Roman Curia.  He made no guarantees that the Faith would be preserved in the Curia.  “Put not your trust in princes: In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.”

Stick to the true and the proven.  Stick to traditional sources for the review of the content of your Catholic Faith.  Remember too that the content of your Faith is not just stuff to be read and memorized, but is also a Person with whom you have a relationship.  Stick to Christ.  Use the sacraments well.  Review your own state in life and, having determined your duties and obligations, carry them out faithfully and with singularity of purpose.  Examine your conscience and…

GO TO CONFESSION!

ACTION ITEM

Were every reader here, today, to examine his or her conscience and then GO TO CONFESSION!, offering up prayers of reparation for sins committed by faithless priests and bishops, faithless catholics who twist souls through their media outlets (Fishwrap, America, Commonweal, The Tablet, etc.), imagine the blow that would give to the Enemy.

Were every reader here, today, to take up the call of the Mother of God and do what she asked in praying the Rosary and making acts of reparation, imagine what a ripple effect that would have.

You are NOT few in number, dear readers.  YOUR acts of reparation would be NOT a few.  You can have an impact.

Were you to make an act of reparation and pray for forgiveness and conversion each time you read a story about the faithless agents of Hell who twist papal documents to contradict the Church’s true teachings, who are caught in the commission of evil acts, who distort minds and hearts through their horrid reporting or opinion pieces at certain internet sources… imagine the impact.

You might also pick a particularly annoying priest or bishop or media person who is clearly in trouble and dedicate some of your prayers for him.

Remember my prayer before using the internet. HERE  Remember also my prayer for the conversion or destruction of the Fishwrap.  HERE  Remember The Bux Protocol™.  HERE

Remember the Act of Reparation taught by the Angel of of Peace at Fatima:

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore You profoundly and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. And by the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.

We are not helpless in this battle, friends.  We have mighty spiritual weapons, made strong and good by Christ.

FIGHT!

Do I hear an “Amen!”?

    Amen, Amen, Amen!

And I will redouble . . . no, requadruple my prayers on behalf of priests and for the Church generally.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

  2. Unwilling says:

Notice how diabolically “wise” this set up is. If we are outraged at the sacrilegious odour of abominable acts in holy precincts, then we are homophobes posing as holier-than-thou sinless Pharisees. If we play this embarrassing event down, to avoid any appearance of homophobia, then we must consent (agreeing with Fr Martin) that our opposition to the behaviours exposes the lingering prejudice against nature’s course.

  3. rodin says:

Amen! And may I suggest that you have earned a big gold star for this post. It is very inspiring and thank you.

  4. samwise says:

Our whole family is going to confession today!

  5. Was on my way to confession this afternoon and happened to read this – a beautiful exhortation, Father. May we all take it to heart and live it.

  6. bobbortolin says:

Amen! Thank you for the much needed reminder of the enemy’s tactics and your encouragement.

  7. Anneliese says:

Good post, Father. We’ve been at war with Satan since the Fall. It may seem as if we’re losing but God is leading us to the ultimate victory. God bless priests like you and orders like the Pink Sisters and Carmelites in St Louis who are praying for us everyday.

  8. jdt2 says:

    AMEN.

Holy Mother of God, please pray for us all.

  9. Timbo says:

Very encouraging post! As a VERY new convert from the Anglican priesthood, you would think I was crazy going into the RCC being as corrupt as it is. However, IT IS THE CHURCH! No doubt about it, and we must join the fight. This to me, is proof its Christs Church, not evidence it’s not. Lord, call all faithful people home to your Church to prayer, repentance and wage a good warfare for your Kingdoms sake, amen.

  10. majuscule says:

I know the power of prayer. After struggling and praying (for the Church, not so much for myself) I suddenly saw some results!

If everyone who reads this blog would stop and say even one prayer (or better yet, one rosary) we would see results. If those who can pray more would double and triple their daily prayers we would see results. (Perhaps not the results you were expecting…remember, the outing of this filth might just be the answer to somebody’s prayers. How else will it be purged?)

Lepanto was not just some coincidence!

  11. kelleyb says:

When I first read about this, I immediately invoked St. Michael the Archangel. He is my ‘go to’ when I read about evil. I will follow your suggestions, Father. Thank you

  12. Curley says:

Let’s invoke St. John Paul II’s intercession when praying for Pope Francis, as he made the pope a cardinal.

  13. JustaSinner says:

Okay Father, I’m taking you up on the offer. I’m enlisting in the Fr. Z Brigade. Confession, Rosary, prayers…that’s boot camp. When I’m though with BC, will I get a posting and orders?

  14. ChesterFrank says:

The one hope during the gay campaign of the past thirty years was that the gays would leave the Church and its priesthood and go do something else. Part of the scandal they cause is their behavior, the other is the obvious agenda they preach from the pulpit.

  15. Sandy says:

Bravo, Father! Oh, if we could only hear all that you’ve written from the voice of every priest in the world! What a fantastic sermon. My prayers, Rosary, and offerings throughout the day may be meager and I get distracted, but I trust that they accomplish something. That’s one reason de Montfort’s teachings are beautiful. He says if we are consecrated to Mother Mary and give her everything to give to Jesus, it’s as though she places a little apple or offering on a gold platter and presents it beautifully to Jesus. God bless you, Father and all the holy priests, and God convert those who aren’t holy!

  16. Elizabeth D says:

Saint Peter Damian, pray for us.

  17. Orlando says:

    Amen! Amen! Amen!
Thank you Father for your great advice as always . The more we resist the greater the Enemy will try to destroy us, so we must prepare for battle and not get disheartened by what we hear, see and read.

St . Michael the Arch Angel defend us in battle!

BTW , nice to see as liberal priest are retiring they are being replaced by strong orthodox seminarians ready for the fight.

  18. Rosary Rose says:

Amen! Your post is an invigorating battle cry Father! I’m in.

I have thought for awhile that things will get very bad, even worse than they are now. As a result, it will be very clear to the world when the Pope consecrates Russia as Our Lady requested and we see her triumph. So I’m not too concerned with things going bad; I just keep praying, going to confession and praying the rosary.

If disheartened, watch Lord of the Rings. (Love that Samwise!)

  19. Tamquam says:

Strength is perfected in weakness. Good news: we got weakness! Better news: we’ve got friends in hight places, like interceding for us in heaven.

Given that, satan is totally hosed.

  20. THREEHEARTS says:

I have to correct my mistakes Mike hurcum writes and asks will this comment be published?
I have some thoughts many of you might like to consider. In many dioceses when I was young, the time manly love was changed to include other men attracted to illicit love. This propensity for same sex had, I mean, seduced men away from male bonding, many of its activists would suddenly vanish, moved on perhaps. By the Church’s own admission we know priests were rerouted to other parishes. True? Then when for whatever reason these numbers stuffed the system up, priests seemed to be swapped between dioceses. True? With the parish changes and the diocesan changes, hid this problem and lifted the pressure by families upon the Bishops, the pummeling of our senses abated for a while. Then the smell of brimstone filled our senses again. How long was this rest period? Only the Church and priests alone can say and at this moment they will not. But woe o
woe, o triple woe we still could not have publicly more priests practicing their addictions. So where did they go and when did the Bishops start sending their or this problem to Rome? When did they send them to Rome? It does not matter when but what is the real problem showing is that now there is no where else to send them. Perhaps we should ask as Moses did for, “no new punishments just open up the ground and swallow them whole”. How many of you, agree, even while revolting in horror at my accusations that suggest Bishops would resort to these subterfuges? The problem, the trouble is, it seems that there are a great number perhaps a large majority in Rome (in the curia). This policy, and it has gone on for such a long time, the curia is controlled by them and they no longer have any fear of penalties, of punishment, let alone penances. While we the laity fear more redistribution and good priests now fear retribution.

  21. Mike says:

Amen! Went to confession yesterday; will go to TLM today praying in reparation for my sins and the sins of the world and for all the intentions of the readers of this blog! and of course for Fr Z!

  22. Nordic Breed says:

Father, so very glad to read your comments about exorcising chanceries, etc. I have long been of the opinion (many years, in fact) that our chanceries need to be exorcised. Once is not enough. Weekly would be great. The demons of hell are everywhere and must be driven out. Many good people do not understand hate and venom towards others because those evils aren’t in their hearts. They don’t understand the lengths others will go to in order to bring down dear ones of God. Therefore, they often miss what is under the surface. We need to take on faith that the evil ones abound, want to do us in and deprive Jesus of the souls He died for. From there we need to be faithful ourselves and pray for the conversion of sinners as Our Lady of Fatima asked.

  23. Benedict Joseph says:

    Unquestionably accurate, instructive and illuminating.
Unquestionably the proposed exorcism and frequent blessing of spaces will not be realized. In the current climate one can only imagine they would be found to be a bit too “pre-Vatican II.”
In effect, we as Catholics have been graced with “all the answers” and those who should know better find the deposit of faith inadequate to the responsibility of their office.
The pearl of great price is no longer recognized.

  24. Danno says:

Thank you for this Father Z. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I am going to read this post at least once a week to stay on track during this battle I must fight.

  26. Ave Crux says:

Father Z., I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….THANK YOU for your zealous and wise priestly “accompaniement” (forgive the word, but it’s used in the best spiritual sense here) as we travel-weary Catholics make our way through this modern-day desert of paganism and through the smoke screens and madness that try to disorient us at every turn.

It’s hard not to feel some self-doubt when the Pope himself is CLEARLY in favor of moral laxity and invites the unconverted to the Sacraments, all the while condemning and silencing those who struggle to hold fast the Faith as it was taught for 2 Millenia.

My head starts to spin and vertigo threatens…”Is this truly merciful, is this truly what God wants…?”, I begin to wonder.

Father, I try to live a very serious spiritual life, knowing we are called to sanctity. How does one protect oneself from being confused and losing the true Faith because of this Pope?

Trying to respect his Office actually disarms one against his errors. It often feels like a Catch 22.

This morning I was thinking that I would normally bear a spiritual hatred toward enemies of the Faith who deliberately taught such errors.

God hates evil with a perfect hated and so ought we….it’s a form of self defense.

But when the errors and strategems to perpetrate moral evil come from the Pope (it needs to be said), our self-defense mechanisms are disarmed. We are tempted to think “Can I, a puny sinner be right and the Pope himself wrong….?”

Advice on this at some point would be welcome.

    Thank you, Father.

P.S. For your readers: the sermons at reginaprophetarum.org are a huge help in keeping the Faith.

  27. Catharine in Aurora says:

Father, I am a “revert” in that I refused to set foot in a Catholic church for 22 years. Fortunately, God was merciful and helped me to work through all sorts of difficulties. I have now been back in the RC church for 25 years. When I first came back, having missed much of the chaos & confusion which went down in the 1970’s and 1980’s, I was absolutely aghast. It took me some time to really “get it” that while the RC church is of divine institution, it is composed of individual human beings, not one of whom is immune to temptation, to sin, to corruption and perversions of all kinds and sorts, both with regard to their faith as well as to their personal lives.
After dealing with family & friends, almost all of whom are fallen-away Catholics, I am convinced that most of this generation will be saved (if at all) by final repentance, final penitence, at or very shortly before their time of death. This applies doubly for clergy and religious.
I have a set of personal prayer intentions for all those in positions of government, authority, power and/or influence, both within the church and in the secular world, that I try to lift up on a daily basis. This is not a stylistic masterpiece, but I think you and your readers may find these prayer intentions to be helpful in praying for RC higher-ups in their daily prayer lives:
    1. Pray for the maximal possible outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all such souls, with His 7-fold gifts, fruits and beatitudes, with His eternal truth, perfection and virtue; for every good grace & heavenly benefit & blessing, all tailorized to meet the needs of each individual case–the grace of the present moment and the grace to correspond to grace.
    2. For all clergy & religious, for all members of the Catholic “intelligentsia,” for the extirpation, extermination and eradication of all heresy, schism & error, esp. modernism, progressivism, syncretism and false ecumenism. That Catholic truth, orthodoxy and sound Catholic belief, practice & praxis will be restored and will prevail throughout the entire universal church. For Christian unity; for the propagation of the faith and the success of the missions and all catechetical programs. For the re-evangelization of formerly Catholic countries and regions.”
    3. Grant to all such souls, (esp. those in positions of government-authority-power-influence) the necessary and efficacious graces of continuing conversion on a lifelong basis; that they may see themselves and take their own measure in the light of Eternal Truth, and be converted. But, if they will not convert, that they may be uncovered, unmasked and exposed for what they truly are. That their heresies, frauds, errors and deceits may be exposed, worked through, discredited and discarded. That they themselves may be utterly disabled, paralyzed, hampered and prevented from working further harm or evil. That others who are more worthy in the sight of the Livinig God may take their places and accomplish the holy will of God with all their might. That the unholy spirit of internal dissension, dissent, deviation from Catholic truth, discord, disunity, disharmony, disobedience and disrespect to Catholic tradition and to legitimate religious authority within Holy Mother Church may vanish.

  28. Henry Edwards says:

Does “The devil made them do it” excuse border on denial of personal culpability and responsibility for sin? Certainly Satan is ever at his evil work in the world, but need he really be invoked to explain the natural depravity of clerics of a certain unnatural proclivity?

  29. Ave Crux says:

P.S. to above. ….God seemed to provide an answer to my query:

A member of my family is visiting today and just happened to pick up a bible sitting on a cabinet nearby, opening it at random. All of a sudden he decided to share what he was reading from the 2nd Epistle of Saint Peter and it addressed my question above about the apparent and tacit approval of this Papacy and Hierarchy toward moral laxity (even the asterisked footnote!) – God is good:

[1] But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition *,

    * “Sects of perdition”: That is, heresies destructive of salvation.

and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their riotousnesses, through whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you. Whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their perdition slumbereth not. …

[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment: … [5] And spared not the original world, but preserved Noe, the eighth person, the preacher of justice, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. [6] And reducing the cities of the Sodomites, and of the Gomorrhites, into ashes, condemned them to be overthrown, making them an example to those that should after act wickedly. … [7] And delivered just Lot, oppressed by the injustice and lewd conversation of the wicked. … [8] For in sight and hearing he was just: dwelling among them, who from day to day vexed the just soul with unjust works. … [9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented. …

[10] And especially them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government, audacious, self willed, they fear not to bring in sects, blaspheming…. [11] Whereas angels who are greater in strength and power, bring not against themselves a railing judgment. … [12] But these men, as irrational beasts, naturally tending to the snare and to destruction, blaspheming those things which they know not, shall perish in their corruption,

… [13] Receiving the reward of their injustice, counting for a pleasure the delights of a day: stains and spots, sporting themselves to excess, rioting in their feasts with you: … [14] Having eyes full of adultery and of sin that ceaseth not: alluring unstable souls, having their heart exercised with covetousness, children of malediction: … [15] Leaving the right way they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam of Bosor, who loved the wages of iniquity,…..[16] But had a check of his madness, the dumb beast used to the yoke, which speaking with man’s voice, forbade the folly of the prophet. … [17] These are fountains without water, and clouds tossed with whirlwinds, to whom the mist of darkness is reserved.

… [18] For, speaking proud words of vanity, they allure by the desires of fleshly riotousness, those who for a little while escape, such as converse in error: … [19] Promising them liberty, whereas they themselves are the slaves of corruption. For by whom a man is overcome, of the same also he is the slave.

… [20] For if, flying from the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they be again entangled in them and overcome: their latter state is become unto them worse than the former.

… [21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of justice, than after they have known it, to turn back from that holy commandment which was delivered to them. … [22] For, that of the true proverb has happened to them: The dog is returned to his vomit: and, The sow that was washed, to her wallowing in the mire.

  30. dochm13 says:

Father, this is spot on. The homily today was about the First Saturdays and the power of acts of reparation. Also, your insistence on our need to adopt a military bearing is absolutely correct. 32. Ave Crux says:

To summarize what is so compelling (as well as bracing and strengthening) in the passages quoted above from the 2ND Epistle of Saint Peter is the virile condemnation of sexual immorality and those who condone it or – as servants of satan, witting or unwitting – confirm sinners in their sins with lying doctrines.

It finally needs to be said for the sake of our own salvation….

Saint Peter’s manly and unequivocal condemnation of such treachery is almost too shocking for our effeminate and snowflake sensibilities.

THIS is the way our prelates and priests should speak and condemn immorality.

Instead we hear such things as “Who am I to judge…” with regards to sodomy, and AL’s coddling of those in irregular sexual relationships who want to have sex and Holy Communion too.

It almost seems as though the Scriptures themselves ought to be on the Index of Forbidden Books in the Catholic Church today – they teach just the opposite of AL and several Bishops Conferences, and sound so mean…..

Please God…..no more…Thou art already too greatly offended….

  34. sparks1093 says:

Thank you, Father. I am an applicant for the Permanent Diaconate and when I first submitted my application I started feeling temptations that I’ve not felt in quite some time. I quickly realized that the Adversary did not want me to become a Deacon and when I increased my prayers the temptations faded away. This does not give me a false sense of security though, because I know that the Devil is always in wait and never gives up. Finally, we lost our beautiful Diocesan property here because of the priestly sex scandals and many lamented the loss of the Diocese. I reminded them that the Diocese is the Bishop, the Priests and the Laity, not a set of buildings. I think most of them got it.

  35. Sue in soCal says:

This closely follows an excellent sermon I heard yesterday (Sunday) at a TLM in San Secondo d’Asti Catholic Church in Ontario, California. (Great little church with an interesting history http://sansecondodasti.org/ .)
Since I’ve gotten the same message in two days, I get it! I’m redoubling my efforts. Thanks, Fr. Z! (And God!)

  36. Southpaw says:

This isn’t just the devil tempting. Lest anyone not know, or have forgotten, communist agents (Russia will spread her errors) infiltrated the Church in the mid-20th century with the express goal of destroying it from the inside. They specifically recruited sodomites to join the priesthood. See the SENATE testimony of Bella Dodd. Her communist cell alone put 1,100 priests into the seminary. The sodomites recruited more of their own and now it has metastasized.

Perhaps it would be fruitful for Father Z to have a permanent link to seminaries that are orthodox, as I hear orthodox seminarians still must keep their heads down.

  37. EmilB says:

Amen! And, as always, thanks Father Z. And we will remember you in our prayers always.

  38. jejopdx says:

I thoroughly enjoyed the article. We are also attacked in the confessional & sometimes when the priest is in a bad mood, misunderstands or whatever, those pesky messages come to mind such as this just isn’t working, i’m done with this and that priest, etc. It happened to me this week. We really need to pray for one another in the confessional

As a father of two this is a great post. My problem with getting my home blessed, is that most of the parishes here won’t send a priest to your home. They literally will just give you some holy water and some prayers to say.

One parish will send a deacon, and there is one that will send a priest, but availability is a problem. Going to have to redouble my efforts to get a priest to our home. Might have to just see if I can pick up the retired priest who says our Latin Mass, and have him bless the home.

I’m also going to be on the lookout for some good books on spiritual warfare. Life has been very trying for my family as of late, and focusing on spiritual combat hasn’t been high on the list. I will have to fix that.
