Great idea -Pleanary indulgence for Pauline Year TLM!
Another great idea having a family day out to coincide with the Mass. Why should the Latin Mass be confined ‘to the sacristy’?
Dear Tom,
Going to Mass is nearly always a family day out – it takes 90 minutes to get there and 90 minutes to get back :-).
Luckily there is a free glass of wine after Mass and a very good boulangerie on the way home.
We also have ‘Just William’ to keep us amused and Mother Mary Boscoe to enlighten us.

SARK,
You know what I mean. We have to take the kids about an hour to the nearest Latin Mass every Sunday but I think it’s a nice idea to have the outing too. It’s not what you’d want every Sunday but we take the kids on these trips to far off islands of tradition too on occasion and you WANT to make it a day out but too often it’s just a turn up, assist at Mass, turn around and go home kind of affair with these pilgrimages unless it’s an actual shrine where there’s something to see and do. Sure, we try to find a spot somewhere but I just think it’s a great idea to have it laid on. I didn’t mean to say ‘just the Mass’ but it is nice to sanctify the day trip as well as make the long car ride to and from.
Who is Mother Mary Bosco? You bring a nun in the car with you? Never thought of that. Great idea. Have nun, will travel. The kids would have to sit up straight then. I’d feel sorry for the poor nun, tho!
In Christo Rege.
Dear Tom,
Sorry – I was just pulling your leg.
Mother Mary Boscoe is the wonderful Mother Superior of the Daughters of Mary (Yes I know they are SSPV etc). She gives the most wonderful down to earth spiritual conferences for women (NB: the men love them too) – unfortunately we don’t have these delivered in person only on tape (you can order them from the Daughters of Mary wedsite). Richmal Crompton is dead so we rely on Martin Jarvis to read about William Brown – he’s on tape too.
The running order is usually MMB on the way to, and JW on the way back from Mass.
God bless
St Conleth’s association are doing some great work in Kildare to promote the TLM. They are a great example of locals doing it for themselves.
God bless the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin for granting the plenary indulgence. He is a true pastor of souls.
I’ll be there!
