Stunning pictures. Thanks for posting them.
What a blessing! In the midst of the battle for souls in the muddy trenches of politics, liturgy, et al, God reveals Himself to us in the simplest of forms and puts His servant in exactly the right place and time to present it to us all. Deo Gratias!
Yes, we have also been noticing large flocks of robins around our home. Winter will soon be here.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures with us, Father.

I don’t know how you have time to take all these pretty pictures, but they’re very good.
Whew, just robbins, I was afraid that the Sabine oddity would be a straw subdeacon wearing a folded chasuble or something…
Birds of a feather…
Hey Fr. Z,
I live in Columbia, MD (not very far south from you)and was struck early yesterday eve whilst sitting on my deck by the *total lack* of bird sounds. The robins and the Carolina wrens are almost always yapping the fool heads off, but yesterday … nothing.
I think there ‘s a very, very bad winter coming (at least in the NE and upper mid-Atlantic). Better get back to Rome.
Father, I live in Philadelphia (“Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia”) and we have large amounts of Robins throughout the Spring and Summer. I’ve never seen them flock, however. I wonder, is it possible that solitary Robins go to a staging point and then flock? Curious.
BTW, love the pictures! They keep my blood-pressure in check when reading some of the abuses you report.
great pictures.
