Ooohh, this is almost the first anniversary of our realization that we had bedbugs.

We suspect they came from a Marriott Courtyard in Tarrytown, NY.
After several bites over a 4-6 week period, my wife saw a dead one and thought it must be. Then she pulled out the lower sheet and trapped one with the magnifying glass that she had handy to look. No doubt about it then. We had a dead one and a live, wiggling one.
They had taken up residence in a telephone jack in the wall behind our bed. Their droppings made that definite.
I had a series of bites on one shoulder a few weeks earlier and I had ignored it. My wife doesn’t ignore things like that easily, but she couldn’t ignore two bites on her face the month before we definitely identified them.

The exterminator told us in the Wash DC area where we live that this is their biggest cause of calls. Glad they were exterminated. After a year, we are breathing easier.

That is a scary thought! I know my little brother caught “scabies” from a trip we took to DC. My husband and I were in a different room… thank goodness!!! LOL

I once had the misfortunate to live in a rented room with a bed containing a lively quantity of bedbugs. It was an itchy, miserable week until I could remove it and buy a bed of my own.
