I would certainly be interested, and I’ve mentioned it to two of the others in my community and they would be interested, too, at least tentatively. I thought the Irish Pub worked out really well last time, and that was during Phillies playoffs, I believe, so it was even more crowded than normal. As for whether or not it should be before Ash Wednesday, I think that tightens up the timing a bit to where it may be difficult…
Count me in. Before or after Ash Wednesday. I don’t recall that there is a canonical prohibition against gathering during a penitential season with like-minded individuals to enjoy each others’ company, is there?
Although I admit I would love to be able to listen to the conversation at the blognic (even though I may not be able to keep up intellectually with such a group!), I am glad I will be home in Arizona where it will be sunny and mid 70’s rather than in Philly where it will be chilly and in the 40’s! (We have to get some reward for a summer full of 100 degree plus days!)
Perhaps next winter there could be a blognic here in sunny Tucson?
Just a suggestion. :)
I say make it a Mardi Gras party.
I’d be willing to drive up for Mass/blognic if it didn’t conflict with class.
Father, if you’re in the mood for a good French restaurant might I recommend Parc? It’s right in Rittenhouse Square and it’s reasonably priced as well. The escargot with hazelnut butter is particularly good.
Its a shame you will just be missing the Schola Cantorum of Delaware County’s Gregorian Chant Workshop on Feb. 22. We would’ve been honored to have such an esteemed guest speaker and priest such as yourself say a few words about beauty in the Liturgy.
I would be interested in Mass/blognic schedule warranting…
Some of us are giving up alcohol for Lent. A pre-Lenten gathering would be a mercy.
Also, Mardi Gras evening can be a little sloppy at some bars as the night drags on.
i would also be interested, particularly because i have just moved to philly from minneapolis and would love to get connected with Catholic circles in these parts
I have an appointment at Wills Eye Hospital on Tues. morning, so I can make it any time on Tuesday. Please let me know what you guys deceide.
I think Tuesday would be very nice… if the weather holds out that is
