The intreprid little Mars rover Spirit, which began its mission in 2004 died, mired in sand, in 2009. It couldn’t capture enough sunlight to power up.
Spirit’s twin Opportunity is still going strong!
The orbiting Phoenix, circling Mars since 2006, recently caught sight of Spirit.
Meanwhile, the Beagle 2…oh, wait. :D
It’s fun to imagine what it’s like being on another world. Too bad the Spirit cannot ponder aloud.
Awesome.
Love space. Grew up two miles from two NASA wind tunnels and heard them every night. They could only run at night because of all the electricity they needed. My best friend’s Dad worked in the drop tower. Turned me on to science in a big way.
First vocation weekend was in Donaldson, Indiana on the day we landed on the moon. Will never forget it!
See, there’s a paw print; proof that there are dogs on other planets. I knew it.
sad, the imagination of our kids are not being encouraged…..
Cool picture of the crater on Mars!
