June and Sacred Heart Devotions – YOUR events, Masses, etc.

June is a month given in a special way to devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I am getting requests from people to advertise their events, Masses, etc.  Were I to do that, this would no longer be my blog.  It would be a college campus telephone pole.

However, here is a place where you can post some events.

Music will be provided by the Schola Cantorum Sanctae Ceciliae, Directed by Henri St. Louis. Jersey, Channel Islands, Britain (Diocese of Portsmouth). Sung Latin Mass in the Ordinary Form at the church of the Sacred Heart, St. Aubin’s Village, at 7:30pm on Friday. This is our second sung OF Latin Mass and we are hoping for a return to ad orientem worship on this occasion. Please pray for us, those who live in far-flung places across the sea (i.e. everyone) as we are facing much opposition.

St Theresa Church, Trumbull, CT. Corpus Christi High Mass, Sunday June 10th at 12 noon with procession of the Holy Eucharist around the grounds of the church. Followed by reception in the school gym.

The above is from the bulletin. This is an OF parish, so I’m not sure if this is High Mass in the EF or not, but it has been announced to be a sung High Mass. I am hoping that it is an EF Mass! Is there such a thing as High Mass in the OF?

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Kenosha, WI:
“DAY of EUCHARISTIC ADORATION in HONOR of the SACRED HEART of JESUS on FRIDAY, JUNE 15, AFTER 8AM MASS UNTIL 9PM On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus there will be Eucharistic Adoration all day, following the 8am morning Mass until 9pm. Come and spend time before Our Lord in the Eucharist and adore His Sacred Heart contained therein – His Heart which is the great Symbol of His love for us and which was pierced for our offenses. There will be a sign-up sheet at the entrance of the church for hours of adoration, so we can guarantee adorers throughout the day and early evening.” http://www.olmckenosha.org

Saw a notice for Spfld., MA:

NOthing public. Just doing a private novena.
And that’s sad because our Parish is Sacred Heart Parish, our pastor was out of town and our annual Sacred Heart festival was postponed to September because of other activities (a deaconate (permanent deacon) ordination) of one of our parishioners.

Church of the Assumption, Peekskill, NY
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart on June 15 following the 9AM Mass, all day, with a special Sacred Heart Holy Hour from 3-4PM. Benediction at 4PM

  9. One of my traditional Catholic friends sent me this from Toronto for the EF Feast Day, June 15th (next friday):

“Solemn High Mass on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. St. Paul’s Basilica, 83 Power St., Toronto. 7:00 p.m. A Solemn High Mass according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Basilica. This Mass is sponsored by the St. Patrick’s Gregorian Choir. All are welcome“

Frankly, I am disappointed.I thought there would be lots and lots of entries. We have Corpus Christi Procession- and gobs of things happening in our small Parish. People need to look around in their locale to find and attend Benedictions, Processions, or devotions. If you can’t find them, have people ask the pastor for them repeatedly, in a kind way–but do something. What a beautiful devotion for June, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we shouldn’t let it pass without doing something special.

  11. Joseph-Mary says:

My flyers for adoration show Jesus with His Sacred Heart and are headed “June” The Month of the Sacred Heart”. The adoration email is of the Sacred Heart. Personally, I am praying a month long novena (St. Pio’s) to the Sacred Heart as we are to have adoration sign up in two weeks with a guest priest. Our adoration is languishing and we need help.

  12. sophiamarie3 says:

I have started a novena with almost 20 others to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. My intention is one that I’d like to share with you: I have been conditionally accepted into the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist for entrance on August 28, 2012. I must, however, pay or have my loans pledged by the end of my third year in the convent. I entrust this petition to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, please pray for me! http://www.psalm63ontheheart.wordpress.com

  13. Elizabeth D says:

Corpus Christi Procession today in Madison Wisconsin with Bishop Morlino, after 11am Mass. We will process from St Patrick’s (where the Bishop will have said Mass) or Holy Redeemer Church (where there is an 11am Mass en espanol) to the State Capitol building for Benediction and a sermon. Then we will process onward through the streets to Holy Redeemer Church with the Blessed Sacrament and a large number of Catholic faithful.

Holy Redeemer Church has Sacred Heart devotions the first Friday of every month immediately after 5:15 Mass. In June we already did this.

  14. acardnal says:

Friday, June 15, has also been designated as World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of the Clergy. Consequently, the Congregation of the Clergy has reissued an Examination of Conscience for Priests as an appendix to their “Letter to Priests”, March 2012. I found the exam worthwhile as a layman and readers may want to use and forward to their priests. It can be found here: http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2012/06/for-record-examination-of-conscience.html

Pray for vocations. Pray for our priests and bishops that they will be faithful, holy and pure.

  15. NickD says:

I have begun saying a Litany to the Sacred Heart and making a daily Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

  16. heway says:

This year the solemnity falls on my birthday….our pastor is many miles away for a month. The scheduled priest did not show on Corpus Christi, though about 30 of us were waiting and expecting the procession and Benediction. Next town already had Mass and the sister church (60 miles west) had a deacon today. We are Sacred Heart Chruch and our festival is next Saturday….we pray that a priest will come to us.
