Continued from THESE.
I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.
We should support each other in works of mercy.
As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand.
If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.
But, registered or not, please take a moment to pray for the people about whom you read here below.
Finally, I have two serious needs. I don’t know to resolve them. It looks like prayer may be the only way to bring swift help. As Capt. Aubrey would say, “Wit’s end ain’t in it!”
CONTINUED HERE.
I need to make an important decision about how I am to spend the next 10 months. Prayers appreciated for this intention. I have many fears and anxieties.
Prayers for you FrZ and all others here. I’m blessed to have no anxieties at the moment and though there are always concerns I’m grateful for the Lord’s steadfast support. My prayer is thanksgiving. Plus prayers of thanks to Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Saints Monica, Jude and Maximilian Kolbe who interceded for my Max. My Max is now finally out of diapers. This is no small thing.
The drought in the USA is very serious. The most serious since 1988. Let us pray for our farmers who feed much of the globe thanks to God’s goodness and for rain.
Please pray for my father, who is undergoing chemo and radiation for lung cancer. It has gotten very difficult for him.
After a long uneasy, unsettling stillness the storm has broken.
Through the intercession of St. Jean de Brébeuf, give me the courage to see it through. Don’t allow me to let down my family and associates.
My friend B (a widower and father of two boys) is getting out of a two-month psychiatric hospitalization on Sunday. Prayers that he will be able to avoid returning to past problematic behaviors.
I am praying for those on this Fr. Z prayer thread. Please include my intentions as well. I am out of work for the 2nd time in less than 2 years. Tomorrow I have a local job interview and have also heard of a 1-year opportunity out of state. Please pray that God’s will be done and that I am at peace as the nerves have kicked up lately.
Thanks and God bless… Maggie (eiggam is Maggie spelled backwards).
1. A holy sister in a rock-solid community…Sister S. She found out recently she might have a life threatening illness.
2. For a friend of my wife, a certain JF, who is considering leaving the Church
3. For my wife, that she gives birth to our first child without any complications and weathers this last month of pregnancy well.
4. For me, that I can buy my family the house we want to buy. It’s a complicated situation, I ask for prayers that it works out well.
For a family member who is dying and those taking care of her. For a cleric from my parish who is dying and his family. For a family from my parish who lost their child tragically. For the repose of the child. For a friend and his family who lost his father tragically and for the repose of his father. For other people I know who are battling sickness and suffering.
Father – is there any way that any of us can help you resolve your issues on a practical level?
For our 6-month-old grandson N., born 3 months prematurely and hospitalized again last week, that his gastric reflux would settle down so he stops throwing up his feeding tube and can learn to take a bottle. For my son and his wife, under such stress, and grieving the death of N.’s identical twin brother P. six weeks ago, that through this experience of birth, death, joy and loss they would discover the love of Christ. With grateful thanks that happy, sociable N. seems to have no developmental delays thus far.
For my son, JA, whose second surgery in 2 weeks is scheduled for tomorrow AM. Please pray that the surgeon is able to remove the growth, and that it is either fungal or benign.
For myself: I have two other intentions for which I would be very grateful for prayer and assistance.
THANK YOU
For the repose of the soul of Victoria [Vicki] Middleton. She was a true Patriot, lifeandliberty.org, and warrior for truth in the Church and a wonderful radio personality in the DFW area. Vicki was a convert; she said yes to God and He made sure she had plenty to do after her conversion, and she did it happily with no fear. Vicki found out on July 17th that she had cancer and she passed away on the 24th, a week later.
Below is a snippet from: http://veneremurcernui.wordpress.com
“One funny story about Vicki, about whom I cried when I was at Adoration this morning. A couple of years ago, when the Life and Liberty Radio Show was still on Saturday afternoons, Vicki was really mad at Bishop Farrell about the heretical speakers who were streaming into the Diocese to give Lenten retreats. This was an incredible offense to Vicki – how could the Bishop allow new age sisters like Joyce Rupp or manifest heretics like Dr. Rick Gaillardetz into the Diocese to preach Lenten – Lenten – retreats?! So, she got a sandwich board made that said something like “Bishop Farrell, stop these terrible retreats” or something and went down to the Cathedral and walked back and forth in front – I think she may have had a bullhorn, but I’m not sure – castigating Bishop Farrell for not stopping these conferences. There was some event at the Cathedral that day, and I think Bishop Farrell saw her and really, really wished she wasn’t there. She later gave me that sandwich board, which I didn’t do anything with, but I should have. I think I may still have it in storage. But that was Vicki – she would do almost anything to stop the decay in the Church and strive to restore this glorious Faith. If every Diocese had a couple thousand Vicki’s, there wouldn’t be a crisis in the Church.”
Vicki called me about the Joyce Rupp ordeal at the time, and mentioned the sandwich board. I thought she was joking.
from her obit
“She offered her prayers and good byes to all. She also had many friends in talk radio, where she did spots on the Guadalupe Radio Network KATH 910 AM in Dallas and later broadcasts on KSKY 660 AM in Dallas. Vicki was a mighty warrior for our Lord and for our country.”
May Vicki rest in eternal peace.
Would you kindly include your prayers for a very close friend:
He gave up a decent job six years ago to teach for the SSPX at one of their schools for very little pay, then discerning a vocation entered the seminary two years ago. Last year he developed a medical condition which causes him a lot of pain (but is not an impediment to ordination) and it sapped the small saving he had in surgery, medication, et al. He has humbly accepted his lot, but seems somewhat discouraged and is so focused on helping others that he has trouble asking for help for himself.
I’ve tried to do what I can, but I fear that his poor success in finding benefactors to help with his these temporal needs (people seem happy to help with tuition, but not with extraneous expenses) will push him to considering leaving the seminary. That would be a needless and unfortunate loss.
So, in your charity, would you include in your prayers his perseverance in his vocation, maintenance in fortitude and for benefactors to help him?
His patron is St. John Francis Regis, perhaps you would invoke him in your prayers.
Thank you!
For a very painful and expensive medical condition I am coping with, that I may be healed if it is God’s will. Thank you for your prayers.
Praying for all those here, especially those who have lost loved ones. For those who are gravely ill, that their suffering may be alleviated and they may receive comfort. For all the little babies who are struggling for their lives and for their brave parents. May our Lord hold you all in his loving hands and give you peace.
I will pray for all your intentions, please pray for my autistic grandson who is trying to cope with the difficulties of permanently separated parents (going back and force between them). He is suffering a great deal with all the changes.
For everyone’s intentions.
For David, For Kristi, For Tim.
and for rain in the midwest.
Many prayers for the intentions above. Could you please pray for a few of my own intentions. Many thanks.
And let’s not forget to pray for those killed and wounded in the Colorado shooting last week.
I have a job interview on Wednesday. Please pray for that, and also for my visa status problems.
I use this for my prayer needs all of the time – here is a link to the website of Saint Anthony’s Franciscan Friars at the Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua, Italy. The Friars will take your prayer requests to Saint Anthony’s tomb and pray for you and with you that God may grant you the assistance you need through the intercession of Saint Anthony. The link below leads to their prayer request page:

Saint Anthony’s intersession has helped me so many times~
Please continue to pray for Fr. M! (The previous YOUR URGENT… site seems to have vanished.) Praying for you.
Edit: The previous YOUR URGENT… page seems to have vanished. Sorry
I ask for prayers for myself and my girlfriend: we are in a long distance relationship right now and it is hard for both of us. May God guide us to make the right decisions and to follow His will. I also ask for prayers for a special intention that I have.
Please pray for my father who is 91 and suffered a stroke that has affected his short term memory. Please pray for me. I am his caregiver and I get so lonely and frustrated at times.
I will say Evening Prayer tonight for all the intentions on this thread.
For my young cousin who was just diagnosed with cervical cancer. For a woman who is dying of cancer this week. For a priest recovering from a knee replacement. For a priest in limbo in South America who cannot get back to the states because of a visa issue.
Finally, for the situation in which my husband and I find ourself. We have had a house in another state for six years which we cannot sell due to market conditions. We currently rent here in St. Louis. So my husband has been working 70+ hours a week for years to cover mortgage and rent. We have six children and rent a four bedroom house. Because of St. Louis’ occupancy codes, we have to rent or buy a house that has a bedroom for every two people. If I get pregnant once more we will be forced out of the house we rent and forced to either rent or buy a 5 bedroom. We can’t get approved for a loan until we sell the other house, and renting a 5 bedroom is insanely expensive. I am currently postponing having another child until we can find a way out of this mess, but am afraid that by the time we can resolve this I may not be able to have any more children. The stress of this situation for many years has taken its’ toll on my husband and our marriage. Saint Joseph, pray for us!
I will pray for you all and Fr. Z!
For Fr. Z and everyone’s intentions, written and not. Please also pray for my daughter’s continuing health problems… I hope and pray they are truly minor.
Please pray for my niece who is functionally homeless, on drugs, mentally ill, and is 5 months pregnant. Please pray that she agree to give the baby up for adoption and finds help in turning her life around. And for my brother who is beside himself with worry and struggling economically.
Prayers for everyone’s intentions, especially for those who are suffering, and especially for Fr. Z’s intentions.
Please pray that my husband’s blood test on the 31st will show a remission in his leukemia! He finished 6 months of chemo a month ago.
We too own a house that we haven’t been able to sell. It has left our credit in shambles. BoA has agreed to a short sale, but now there are problems with the deed, and with a tax lien. Please pray that these obstacles can be overcome and the house sold now, if not sooner. Thanks!
My prayers are offered up with everyone elses’ for everyones needs and intentions on here today.
May The Lord grant you Peace in the knowledge He has heard all our prayers.
Forgive me for being so bold, but after receiving His Precious Body and Blood today, I know He will not leave us bereft and abandoned. Thanks be to God for His Holy Love , and His Sacred Heart.
I request prayers for a member of my family who is a cradle Catholic and has little appreciation for the treasures of our Faith. This person attends Mass weekly but seems to regard daily rosary, Bible reading, fasting etc. as some sort of religious fanaticism. This seems like a minor problem compared with the heart-breaking situations of so many who are requesting prayers. But believe me, this situation causes me so much grief… Thanks.
I will happily pray for all of you, and your intentions. May I humbly ask your prayers, for the repose of the soul of my cousin, lost her battle with cancer this morning. Thank you, and thank you for giving me the chance to pray for you.
D
Please pray for my husband, “Lord Catcliffe,” who has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. We are awaiting treatment decisions. “Squire Catcliffe” is 9 years old . . . he and I need prayers for the situation also. I have prayed for all these intentions. Oremus pro invincem.
First of all, Thank you for your past prayers.
3 important issues were resolved.
My husband still needs prayers/prostate cancer & incontinence.
Prayers going up to our Lord for all the above intentions and any requests that will follow, especially at my attendance at Mass.
VexillaRegis:
The page for YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS is constantly there for us, if you notice on the heading of Fr. Z’s blog. It’s on the heading with the picture of Rome at sunset, it’s at the bottom of the list of various other shortcut pages to click into.
Praying especially for you, Fr. Z.
If your needs are of a worldly nature, ask us. I’m sure we’ll all step in.
If not I will pray to the Holy Ghost that He enlighten you with His Wisdom.
When my children were small we always prayed
“Give us the Wisdom to know your Will and the Courage to follow it”
I will pray this prayer daily for you.
Please pray for our son, Zac, who will soon enter his first year studies at the University of Notre Dame. He is a strong Catholic, home schooled youth, who is discerning a call to the priesthood.
Please join our prayers that he will be protected by Our Lady and that he will stand up for the truth and grow in holiness.
Pray also for our family as we drive across the country to bring him to ND, and for our hearts as we bid our oldest son and brother farewell.
Thank you.
Bea: I’m so happy that your prayers were answered, I’m continuing to pray for your dear husband!
When I click on the “Urgent key” in the sunset list, I keep getting the “Page can not be found message”. Confusing! Does it work for you?
Please, please pray for our young and brilliant pastor Fr. M and for another good friend and priest, Fr. K., who both have developed severe problems with their temper. Also pray for Fr. E., who is bullied. Our shepherds are most surely under attack. God help us all!
I humbly ask you to pray for me aswell – I’m not good at doing that myself, you see!
Dear Father Z., don’t worry! People are praying for you all arond the world, in every time zone and the saints are interceding for you 24/7 :-)!
VexillaRegis
Thanks for your prayers
I just got back from doing a Holy Hour before The Blessed Sacrament (we only have Exposition on First Fridays) I prayed a Rosary for Fr. Z and all the prayer requests by his bloggers.
I didn’t see the YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS on the “sunset list” today. Maybe there was a problem with it and fr Z is fixing it. I hadn’t had any problems with it before.
Yes, the whole Church of the True Faithful Shepherds are under attack. They certainly need our prayers. “Strike at the head and the sheep will scatter” I don’t remember who said that, but it is certainly going on right now.
Bea: YUPR :I’ve had problems with the “Sunset list” since the last refresher came on on the 26th. “Page can not be found”.It has been in the bottom left corner all the time, but was moved to the second line today or yesterday.
Sadly even ( or rather some of) the best priests seem to be the most vulnerable. Fr. M. and Fr. K. are both very much on the same page as the Pope and the magisterium, one of them is even a traditionalist. I sincerely hope they do not know what the are doing (being angry and rude) but that they soon get help and realise what the have done to their respective parishes. It’s such a pity – they could be the best priests you ever knew!
Pray for the parishoners too, please!
During a long conversation with my mother today, a real miracle
happened. She told me that she thought very much about converting to
Catholicism, and from her words, she has been thinking about it for a
long time. She was raised as a Lutheran, and has after almost 60 years
decided, that she would like to join the Catholic Church. I’m asking
everyone I know to pray for her, since she needs every prayer and
every drop of grace she can get! Please pray for my mother!
