This is too cool not to post.
You might remember that I posted about blessing basil in honor of the Cross? Basil is from the Greek word for “king”.
A priest reader breathing mainly from the Eastern lung sent me great photos of the blessing of basil. I will share three.
Think of the smell of the church, with the candles and incense and basil.
Am I the only one to look at the photos and start calculating how much pesto sauce you could make from all that basil???
Just me?? Ooops…
I am such a baaaad person.
Yes, I remember. It reminded me of the purple basil in my mom’s garden. I don’t know if it was a perennial or if it re-seeded itself, but you could count on it every year. It was uncontainable, prolific like a weed and unbelievably fragrant. Very cool pics.
Whoah, nice!
Don’t think we’d ever have a culinary disagreement, in fact think we are right in sync in that department.
What are your feelings about sushi?
looks like Basil the Great to me ;-)
love the Thai basil with a handful of frizzled basil on top of the ground chicken
I love the smell of basil in the morning. (That’s when I water my window herbal plants).
I can only imagine the scent from this “Basil Cross”
Oh my goodness, that’s huge!
But I’m sure it smells wonderful! ; )
