RSS feed troubles

I have found a problem with my RSS feed.

Anyone else having trouble with it?

One problem is noticed is that the subscribers dropped off all of sudden, it seems on 16 Sept, from 13k to zero:

Some of you might have an insight into what happened here.  Odd.

PS: I have had problems with the feed before… grrrrr.

No idea. I saw this post through the RSS feed using Google Reader which is pointed at
http://feeds.feedburner.com/wdtprs/DhFa and still see everything from that feed like normal.

  2. DeltaEchoBravo says:

That is a terrible sentence. I apologize.

  3. kab63 says:

I have no problem receiving your RSS via Google Reader/Chrome. Perhaps the error is with wordpress tracking.

  4. Sam DiPiazza says:

I’m not having any problem either; I also use Google Reader.

  5. Fraley says:

I’m sure it is because everyone was in church for Saint John Chrysostom.

I have had no problems with your feed, however, the feedburner stat tracker on my blog (nymphios[dot]blogspot[dot]com) has done the exact same thing. On the same day no less. Your graph looks just like mine in that we both went to zero on 18 September with normal readership before and none since (mouse over the dots for the exact date-the little vertical line next to “Sept 15, 2012” marks the 15th and the 3rd dot afterwards (the 18th) is the first at 0 for both of us). Apparently this is a feedburner problem and it’s probably effecting every feed (or at least many of them). I haven’t the faintest idea what caused it or how to fix it. At least I know the problem probably isn’t my feed since you’re seeing the same thing.

    [Interesting!]

I too use Google Reader/Chrome which has picked up all your recent posts without exception.

  8. Jim of Bowie says:

I use NewsFox. No problems. Although my feed on The Gateway Pundit , a WordPress blog, did stop a week or so ago and I had to resubscribe.

  9. Salvatore_Giuseppe says:

Maybe everyone just got tired of listening to you blab. >_>

    I kid, of course.

  10. Ben Yanke says:

I arrived just fine to this page via feedburner and google reader. I wonder if the tracking is off?

[All the subscribers just disappeared. Are you a subscriber? Did you suddenly become invisible last week?]

  11. Admiral-GER says:

    No problems with google reader.

  12. NDPhys says:

I use Google Reader, and it picks up the feed without incident. Sometimes it doesn’t display the images in the feed reader, though, but I think that is either my browser or Google Reader related.

    Father,

My most humble blog (which has nowhere even close to your HOURLY traffic let alone daily traffic) also died suddenly on September 21st. I actually went in and burned another “feed” but nothing has changed; the stats still read zero. I’ve noticed that delivery to my Facebook account has not been interrupted, and that the Google Reader still posts or updates almost instantly anything I post.

When I went in yesterday, I looked at the Feedburner message board and it said there has been a system crash beginning September 16th and that they’re working on it. Unless you’ve seen a huge drop in visitors, I think your feed is going out normally. I haven’t noticed much of a difference, but then I am in the “Bad News Bears League” of bloggers and not the inestimable Fr. Z.

I noticed that all of my feeds for blogs, podcasts and eMail subscriptions listed 0 subscribers last night. They must have had a glitch with their servers.

  15. Tom says:

It is hard to imagine that this is the cause, but for what it’s worth, after I installed osx mountain lion, all my RSS’s became inoperative, and I have yet to install software to activate them again. I read something about having to buy third party software to use RSS’s in the new Safari.

  16. tzard says:

I subscribe via netvibes using RSS. I’ve had no problems and have been reading your posts over the past week. (double-checking with your blog page directly I’ve not missed anything).

  17. Supertradmum says:

There was a concerted hacking of sites and banks from a terrorist group reported in the past few days by an Islamic group. Could that be connected?

  18. aragonjohn7 says:

I have no problems using a dolphin or a windows 7 or a windows explorer 9

  19. bvb says:

I saw the same thing for the barrouxchant.com podcast feed, but it looks like it’s been fixed (I had everything drop to 0 for a few days and then come back up again today). Both feeds worked through the whole period, though.

  20. mamajen says:

This is a glitch that has affected everyone who uses Feedburner, I believe. Among the “mommy blogger” set there has been some panic that Google is going to eliminate Feedburner altogether. I have found no evidence of that, so I am not going to worry about it for now. Google is, apparently, stopping support of the Feedburner API (what developers use to pull Feedburner apps into other programs, etc.), but that shouldn’t affect most bloggers.

  21. I see that the subscribers are magically back at about 13k. I guess the problem was sorted out.
