A pity Paul VI suppressed the rest of the papal court–Noble Guard, Palatine Guard, Gendarmerie in Napoleonic dress uniforms, prince assistants at the throne, et al.–it was a riot of color for the eye!
As a woman I have never had the desire to be a priest or be in the military…
But I think being a Swiss Guard would have been cool!
