I and a friend lead a Bible study Thursday evenings at 6 (this is after the 5:15 Mass) at Holy Redeemer Church in Madison, WI. We are studying the Acts of the Apostles using the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament (ch 7&8 today). Anyone reading this would be welcome to come and there will be some snacks. This evening we will keep it to 1 hour in order to attend another great local event, a talk by a religious sister from Iraq who apparently started the first order of sisters in the Armenian Apostolic Church in 70 years then subsequently entered the Catholic Church and has started a contemplative type CMSWR religious congregation in the Boston Archdiocese. This is at St Christopher Parish in Verona at 7:30 pm today and info is available on the Madison Diocese website.

Participating children are invited to chant chant in the closing Mass on Saturday, and are invited to serve as the principal choir for the 10:00 a.m. Mass at Ave Maria Oratory on Sunday, May 17.

The Jubilee Museum and Catholic Cultural Center of Columbus, Ohio currently has an exhibition displaying the sculptural work of Alfred Tibor. The exhibition runs through June 14, 2015. The museum is hosting a meet & greet with artist Alfred Tibor on May 23, 2015 from 3-5pm.

Readers in California will have the opportunity to hear the incredible vocal ensemble Chanticleer during the week of May 10 (dates and locations at http://www.chanticleer.org ). I saw them last night. It was the best musical performance I have ever witnessed. Music from the sixteenth century to date, some sacred and some secular.
On the Feast of the Ascension, this Thursday, 14 May, at 5:30 PM a sung High Mass (Extraordinary Form), with the full choir, will be offered by Fr. Jeff Keyes at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Newark, CA, near Fremont.

Mark your calendars for a truly “Extraordinary” event…on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the return of the Traditional Latin Mass to Hudson County, New Jersey, a Solemn Mass will be sung on Saturday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. for the Vigil of Pentecost, at downtown Jersey City’s historic St. Anthony’s Church. (Located on Monmouth Street between 6th and 7th Streets). Diocesan clergy from throughout New Jersey, as well as priests of both the Institute of Christ the King and the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter will participate as ministers at the altar. The renowned Cantantes in Cordibus choir, under the direction of Maestro Simone Ferraresi, will perform Haydn’s acclaimed Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo. The organizers of this truly special event are the many young parishioners who have recently joined the growing parish in a quickly gentrifyng city. They hope that this will be an opportunity for young faithful Catholics to worship, meet and network.
