Our local one isn’t offering it. I just checked. I said, “I vote that you add it during Lent!” and the (always extremely polite person on the phone) said, “I’ll tell them!”
Saw a commercial this morning for Arby’s fish sandwiches. The tag at the end didn’t sonorously say, “We have the fish!”
CFA is good. sadly they dropped two of my favorite items (spicy chicken biscuit at breakfast and carrot/raisin salad at lunch). Spicy chicken sandwich (obv not for Lent) and seasonal peach milkshake are especially good
They are excellent. For a fast food chain, their stores are clean and neat. You are normally greeted when arriving and thanked when leaving. They truly value their employees, and close on Sunday to honor the Lord’s day and so their staff can be free to dedicate the day for worship, family and rest. The food is usually really good and fresh as well, I especially enjoy their soups and lemonade. Kudos to them for accommodating us observing our Lenten discipline. I will do my best to give them my business later tonight… especially if it angers the Left!!! :-)
Wished I’d known! While out today I bypassed Chick-fil-a for McDonald’s fish sandwich. Happily, they let me put the fish on a salad instead of a bun as I’m giving up starches and sugars for Lent. My daughter laughed at me asking for a substitution at McDonald’s. Next time I’ll try cfa.

In Alameda, CA there are as many Japanese restaurants as fast food. Lent = sushi every week!
Shameless plug for the restaurant where three of my children have worked–Arby’s fish sandwich beats any other fast food restaurant’s offering!
I saw this today, phoned my wife and we agreed this would be a nice Friday supper out tonight.
We decided to check the website to confirm, which said “select locations, check with your nearby etc…”
Called our nearest, asked if they were one of the ones which did have fish.
The lovely young lady on the phone replied, “Oh, yes! We have fish on the menu starting tomorrow.”
…
Perhaps, in addition to the Catholic Lent Friday demographic, their market research indicates an untapped “Saturday night fish fry” demographic.
Sigh.
I’ve always wished I could support their business practices by eating there, but I get massive headaches from the MSG they use in their food.
If they would get rid of that, I would be lining up to support them. :)
There are those who say the culprit is not MSG but hot sesame oil.
Today I paid around $6.50 for a mc’d fish fillet combo and in Los Angeles. Such a deal!
I had a McD’s fish fillet burger once. Only once. Not even for penance would I eat their fish fillet burger again.
Wish Chick-fil-A would open up in Australia.
Snopes has an interesting presentation on this topic, including some clever Onion blurbs. I think Chic-fil-A is nothing special for their food–but then, I love White Castles, so taste is very individual! I’m glad to hear this, so they might take some of Culver’s traffic, which was ridiculous last night!
If they are an anti-gay hate group as purported, then they will have to answer to God for that. I appreciate any company that chooses to close on Sunday. Whether for religious reasons or not, it’s good for all to have a rest one day a week.
It would be kind of cool to walk into Chick-fil-A or McDonald’s carrying a net and order 153 fish sandwiches. Fill ‘er up!
Speaking of market forces: John 21:5-6,11.
Breakfast of Champions!
The last several years, quite a few fast food places have been selling fish during Lent. While McDonald’s sells a fish sandwich year round (I think Burger King does too) , Wendy’s and Arby’s sell one during Lent. Some of the fried chicken places sell fish around this time too.
And for those who live in Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, or Oklahoma, Whataburger sells a WhataCatch year round. I also had a vegetarian years ago tell me that Taco Bell doesn’t use lard in their beans, so a bean burrito or a 7 layer burrito is a vegetarian dish. I do sometimes buy the frozen White Castle veggie burgers at the grocery store, and they are pretty good. I haven’t tried the Black Bean burger that White Castle makes for the grocery store.
By the way, I do like Chick Fil A. The two closest to me are usually packed between 11 am and 1 pm at lunchtime. I do give them my business.
Their food was very good when I had it years ago. The reason I don’t eat it any more has nothing to do with its quality.
