Help the wonderful Summit Dominicans!

Please remember me when shopping online. Thanks in advance. – US HERE – UK HERE

On a personal note, if that last part wasn’t personal enough, I’ve been sick for a couple days, so posting has been thin.  Aches, fatigue, fever (not too high).   I had half a dozen naps yesterday.  This morning, too, I couldn’t stay up.  Perhaps partly from the fever I had an odd dream: I had taken in a Catholic Tradition loving chess Grand Master a bit down on his luck in exchange for serving Masses and giving lessons, thus sparking the beginning of a chess club.  Who knows!   I had earlier been looking for different chess clubs in different cities via the interwebs.  Perhaps it was auto-suggestive.

I’ve also been giving thought to and reading around the lie that to be attached to traditional worship is “against the Council”, or that the Traditional Latin Mass is “against the Council”.  It’s a lie, of course.   But this is Big Lie Theory in action.  It takes a thousand words to counter 10 word lies.  Hence, they have to shut down the living proof by shutting down access to the lived experience of attending such Masses.  More on this later.

Time for a nap.

Oh no. Fr. Z. Don’t be sick! Get well soon. May our Mother Mary tend to you.

I hope I didn’t say this a few weeks ago, but it’s all new to me, lol. You might have Covid, that’s what Omicron gives you. Slight fever, dry cough, aches. In two days it’s mostly gone except the cough. We can stop freaking out about Covid now. Why anyone would give a Covid shot to young people is insane, and to babies and young children, it’s criminal. I would have let my son get it as a child, the way mothers used to take their kids to “chicken pox parties”. It might not be Covid, but I didn’t know until day four, a few weeks ago. Then my relatives started testing positive.
Feel better soon! I took Mucinex and aspirin, the usual vitamin regimen for Covid, C, D3, zinc. Zinc, as it turns out, is wonderfully effective against all kinds of viruses.

  3. Diane says:

Get well soon, dear Father. Sending up many prayers for you. I am just getting over a bout of covid. They say I’ll be low-energy for months. Praying much better news for you!

A very comprehensive website. At least some of the OTC suggestions should help, eg. aspirin, mouthwash, melatonin, vitamins C,D, Zinc and NAC, N-acetyl cysteine.

    Zinc 75–100 mg/day (elemental zinc).
    Naso-Oropharyngeal hygiene (see figures 6 and 7). [35] Antiseptic-antimicrobial
mouthwashes (containing chlorhexidine, povidone-iodine, cetylpyridinium chloride and the combination of eucalyptus, menthol and thymol [Listerine™]) have been shown in research studies to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication and reduce viral load. [36-43] In patients with symptomatic disease treated at home, a 1% povidone-iodine
mouthwash/gargle — together with nasal drops — resulted in a dramatic reduction in morbidity, hospitalization and death. [44] A nasal spray with 1% povidone-iodine (for example Immune Mist™, CoFix™ Viraldine™ or IoNovo™ ) administered 2-3 times per day is recommended in symptomatic patients. [38] Oropharyngeal hygiene will likely reduce the viral load in the upper airways, thereby reducing the risk of symptomatic disease and disease severity.
    • Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid or ASA) 325 mg daily (unless contraindicated). Aspirin has anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, immunomodulatory, and antiviral effects. [45-47]
Platelet activation plays a major role in propagating the prothrombotic state associated with COVID-19. [48-50]
    • Melatonin 5-10 mg at night. [51-57] Slow/extended release preparations are preferred, as this minimizes the risk of bad dreams. If 10 mg is not well tolerated, cut the dose to 5 mg and slowly increase, as tolerated.
    • Curcumin (turmeric) 500 mg twice a day. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2. In addition, this spice has anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties. [58-62] Curcumin has low solubility in water and is poorly absorbed by the body; [63] consequently, it is traditionally taken with full fat milk and black pepper, which enhance its absorption. Nano-curcumin preparations or formulations designed to enhance absorption are recommended. [64-67]
    • Kefir and/or Bifidobacterium Probiotics (e.g., Daily Body Restore) together with
Prebiotics (e.g. XOS Prebiotic, Bio Nutrition Pre-Biotic) to normalize the microbiome.
Suggested probiotics include Megasporebiotic (Microbiome labs), TrueBifidoPro (US
    Enzymes) and yourgutplus+. [68]
    • Vitamin C 500–1000 mg twice a day.
    • Quercetin 250–500 mg twice a day. Quercetin is a plant phytochemical (flavonoid) with
broad spectrum anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, anticoagulant, and immune modulatory properties. [69-76] Quercetin inhibits SARS-COV-2 replication by a number
of mechanisms. [73;76-78] In addition, quercetin inhibits mast cells, [79] and has been
demonstrated to reduce neuroinflammation. [80] The major limitation of supplemental
quercetin is its poor solubility and low oral absorption. [81] A lecithin-based formulation (Quercetin Phytosome®, Life Extension Bio-Quercetin) and a nanoparticle formulation have shown markedly improved bioavailability. [82;83] Quercetin Phytosome (250-500 mg twice a day) has shown promising results in both the prevention and treatment of symptomatic COVID-19. [84;85
    • N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) 600-1200 mg orally twice a day.
Vitamin D3. The optimal dose of Vitamin D3 in the acute setting is controversial. [90;91]However, a dose of 10,000 IU daily (two 5,000 IU capsules) for two weeks is suggested.
Even if it’s some other kind of virus, the above will help.

COVID was my first thought too. I had similar symptoms thought it was just a mild flu then tested positive. Weird dreams are part of it.

Unfortunately Big Lies are becoming more commonplace these days especially now with the media colluding with the Deep State. We have “Jan 6 is an insurrection”, Trump colluded with Russia”, “The COVID vaccine has no side effects and keeps you from transmitting the virus”. There are probably a few others I’ve forgotten.

  6. Kathleen10 says:

grateful, thank you for mentioning the protocol. There is also the Zelensky protocol (God rest his great soul), and FLCCC’s protocol. I forgot the say, Fr. Z., that the salt water gargle is fantastic and studies show it makes a difference in viral load in the pharynx. I know it helped my Covid sore throat. The Quercetin can be gotten at a health food store, apparently it’s kind of like bio-flavenoids, that type of natural support, but many protocols include it.
@diane. don’t believe the hype. I’ve had Covid twice, the Wuhan yes, was so fatiguing it took a month to recover, but Omicron is like a cold. I’m no young chick, and I rested for two days feeling like I had a sinus infection that was kind of flu-like, but after that I was up running errands and doing things and three days later I was back walking at our local track again. The dry cough did hang around for about two weeks after. As with the first Covid, aspirin made me feel better and Tylenol did little. I also took Expec, which is a health food version of Mucinex. It tastes pretty good. Lots of fluids are good too.
Sorry, I don’t want to blather about myself here, but the fear factor over Covid is so high, and Omicron is just nothing like the earlier Covid. I hate to see anyone be afraid of it. As multiple doctors have told me “We’re all going to get it.” Then you’ll have nice antibodies!
Oh, FLCCC will do Telemed and I believe meds can be delivered to your home. Anti-viral take early on, anti-inflammatory after a few days, is the general way it is treated. Early treatment is best.

  7. Chiara says:

Father, please take a Covid test asap. At the end of May, I woke up with a sore throat and was achy all over – my eye sockets even hurt. And I was terribly tired. I was scheduled to go on a pilgrimage with my Third Order Franciscan fraternity via car and was supposed to drive others. I thought my problem was simply pollen and my age (61), but I thought it would be better to skip this since I would be cooped up in a car for an hour, just to be safe. When I canceled with an officer of my fraternity, he told me to take a test immediately (he is an MD). Sure enough, I tested positive. Per the CDC bulletin, I isolated for 10 days (did not leave the house) and wore a mask for a few days following. My husband, who took 2 tests and tested negative both times, wore a mask when he left the house while I was sick and after for a few days. Really, it is nothing to fool with. I am still very tired. And being a priest, I am sure you do not want to transmit the virus. God bless and protect you, and I hope you feel well again soon.
