I think Black’s best line is
1. … Nxc3
2. Kxc3 d4+
3. Kxd4 b2
4. Re1 b1=Q
5. Rxb1 Bxb1
and Black wins the rook and can promote the a-pawn with the bishop’s help.

I have recently rekindled an interest in chess, but am only starting to review puzzles and understand chess notation, so thanks for your patience if I misunderstand something.
Fr. – isn’t 3. Kb3 illegal because b3 is protected by the bishop on c2?
Dustin: I screwed up my notation. I think I’ve fixed it now. Thanks for chiming in with the question. Check it out now. It should make more sense.
One of the additional things about chess that I have found is really hard and painstaking is typing notation. I have gained enormous respect for the people who put books of games and theory together.
