Please use the sharing buttons! Thanks!

Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

Right now it seems … well, something is up, because I’m getting lots of requests for prayers.  More than usual.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand. We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

I still have a pressing personal petition.

Please pray for me and my on-going serious guide dog issues. I have been working with Aaron, my current guide dog now for five years come March 2015. I’m his second owner and he has come to me with a range of significant issues that he has had throughout my time with him (and I suspect prior, hence his first owner returning him to the guide dog association after only 3 months). he’s my fourth; I had my last fine old black labbie girl, Zenia for eight years; two weeks shy of her tenth birthday, and my her predecessor Verity to within months of her ninth birthday; (her predecessor Brundah was a bit of a dud, but fifteen years of good dogs makes this decision very painful) all good innings’ for guide dogs who led hard lives with me due to our circumstances). Guie dog travel is completely different than that afforded by a white cane (to those of us who have placed our hand into the harness handle) and I for one cannot go back. I will be commencing the heartbreaking decision to retire him early when I meet with my guide dog instructor next Tuesday. Pray I am approved for another dog as the prospect of a white cane and miniguide (a tactle, handheld sonar device) is rather horrid to be honest, despite the fact that I am a competent cane traveller. The issues we’ve been dealing with are aggressive dog distraction, slowness (especially en route to the two parish churches I frequent) and a growing child distraction (he interacts with the kids walking to school next to the church similarly to his dog distraction but without the vocalization. Even with a gentle leader head collar and me following to the letter every technique the guide dog instructors have suggested, he’s worsening. I lost it in church this morning, bawling my eyes out like a child after receiving our Lord. Aaron’s only seven years old in January and we should have at least two more years together. Dog distraction means that I cannot take him to a full third of places I would otherwise take him to. whenever I am out with my husband, I work Aaron rather than dropping the handle; my husband is my husband, not my sighted guide and he’s happy for me to have a guide dog that works as my eyes.

The waiting time for a new dog is approx. six months so, if it is God’s will, my new dog will be in the midst of transitioning from its puppy raising home to the intensive guide dog training programme. I don’t care if it is male or female, golden, chocolate or black, tall or smaller, as long as it is

    a) not aggressively dog distracted (they all have a look and whimper, but all four paws off the ground in a lightening fast tanti is unacceptable and dangerous for me)
    b) the dog is fine with children
    c) the dog doesn’t mind being a plodder but, at the same time, doesn’t go into panic attacks when taken on unfamiliar or less frequented travel routes
    d) walks at a fair clip and doesn’t mind the same places daily (e.g. to the bus stop from home, into town, to church, then on to the cafe, followed by st. Vincent de Paul for volunteer work, to various shops, to another bus stop for Saturday mass and confession, to another church in walking distance on Sundays, to the lawn bowls club with my husband etc. (all other destinations are out because of the dog distraction)
    and
    e) the dog is a good, firm guide; some are subtle and very soft in the harness which makes their movements much harder to read

Guide Dogs association rehomes retired dogs either with families as pets or as therapy dogs e.g. family with a teen who has cerebal palsy etc.

Please, please, please pray and bring this to our Lord’s attention, asking for St. Hubert and St Roc’s intervention, along with that of St. Lucy.

For a permanent solution to my husband’s job loss situation, as we are a one-income family and I want to be able to stay home and homeschool our two youngest children. For a safe trip for my daughter down to Texas to visit her brother. That the source of my shoulder pain can be determined and hopefully not need surgical repair. That my husband’s hearing loss and ringing in the ears can be managed and provide him with some relief. Thank you.

  8. VexillaRegis says:

A close relative is in hospital again fighting very serious infections. Please pray for I.

Fr. M is doing slightly better but you never know when he will bite your head off or be rude to people in public. We need lots of prayers.

Please pray for a pressing intention of mine.

Prayers for all people in the middle East, that this terrible war ends now and that the ISIS is destroyed.

    Sancte Michaele Archangele…

  9. jflare says:

I’ll beg you all to indulge me a moment. I need some prayers for a really competent shift manager to apply to work in the store I manage. I’m not able to work 10-14 hour days, 7 days each week and expect to live very long.
    I need some help.

  10. Muv says:

The anniversary of a particularly traumatic death in the family is this weekend, so special prayers please for all our family, living and deceased.

A friend and I are planning a pilgrimage for later this month to visit places associated with the six canonised Welsh Martyrs, starting on or about the 25th, their feast day. She and I have both had a particularly rough time of it over the past three or four years, and this pilgrimage has been in the air for some months. We will remember you Fr. Z and everyone who posts their intentions here. Please can you keep us and our intentions in mind – not least that we shall have a safe journey and that we won’t get too much of a lashing from the wild Welsh weather.

  11. Mike says:

That my neighbor B. may continue to be restored to health as she recovers from her recent stroke. She is still incapable of taking solid food.

For the conversion of my family. My brother left the Church 48 years ago immediately after his marriage. Neither he nor any of his children, grandchildren or great-grandchild are apt even to enter a house of worship, much less a Catholic church. Please pray for them.

  12. mrshopey says:

Prayers for you and all who are in need.
I have a personal intention also for T with the intercession of St. Jude that the impossible situation will be resolved.

  13. HeatherPA says:

Prayers for all posting and Fr. Z’s intentions.

I am 6 weeks away from my due date of baby #7, Josephine Cecelia, after losing a little girl to premature birth last October. Please pray for a safe delivery and healthy baby for our family (I don’t even care if I go past the due date).

Also, continued prayers for my husband to get a good job offer from the company he has been interviewing with, and I thank you for the past prayers which surely helped him even get the interviews. He is past all employment interviews and in the pre employment stage.

For my dear friend SP who is in end stage cancer, that she doesn’t die outside the sacraments.

For my eldest daughter to convert and get to confession.

For my children to know the vocation that God wants them to pursue and hear and heed His voice if called to religious life/ priesthood.
    God bless you all.

  14. knute says:

Please pray for me. I recently lost my job and I’m looking for a new one right now.

I will also pray for Fr. Z’s intentions and the intentions of those posting on this thread.

  15. Torpedo1 says:

Am praying for all intentions, especially Fr. Z’s. Please pray for a personal intention of mine, thanks.

  16. John Grammaticus says:

    For Several Intentions

  17. KAS says:

My prayers for all the various intentions, especially Fr. Z’s.

Please pray for my hubby, a physicist, who is having some memory issues, a broken tooth (second one in a month), and severe leg cramping. Doctors just shrug, even the specialists and the dental surgeon wants to be paid up front which we cannot do this month.

Please pray for me that this difficult pregnancy go full term without any dangerous developments for myself or our baby. At 25 weeks I am having some swelling that doesn’t leave when I lay down and allergies are making breathing uncomfortable enough that if I get sick on top of it, we could have breathing issues for me.

On the up side– this one is a girl!

Please pray that all those who see the new movie ‘ouija’ will be protected from evil. Especially that the young will be prevented from even seeing it.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1204977

Please pray for a B.D: a young woman who is emotionally troubled and whose cries for help have been misdirected, misinterpreted and somewhat ignored. My fears are not only for her, but also for those who must interact with her.
Please pray for the young people who are targeted by B.D. as her actions can have (and have had) harsh consequences on them and their futures.
Please keep JudyC in your prayers: her surgery was postponed but the malignancy will be removed soon.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers: we have 3 PRESSING personal intentions and are in need of god’s mercy.
    THANK YOU.
You, and your personal intentions remain in my prayers.

Praying for all these intentions today.

Wanted to pass along a suggestion for those particularly concerned about praying for the USA: I caught part of a Rosary gathering today for that intention (unfortunately could not stay for the whole thing) led by Bp. Paprocki outside the Illinois State Capitol, in which every individual Hail Mary was offered for the people of a particular state — since there are 50 Hail Marys in the main parts of a five-decade rosary it works out perfectly. If you want to try it it here’s the order of states they used:

1st Decade — AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA
2nd Decade — HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD
3rd Decade — MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ
4th Decade — NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC
5th Decade — SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY

The three Hail Marys at the beginning I did not catch, but I’m guessing they could be used for DC, Puerto Rico and other U.S. possessions. Of course, petitions for persons you know or particular needs in each state (e.g. Ebola in Texas, drought relief in California) can be added.

I know some of you are suffering far more than us and we will pray for all of you.
Humbly I beg for your prayers too. We are going into winter extremely unprepared. Do to job loss and loss of income this last 12 months have been challenging to say the very least. We are behind on all our bills, our food is depleted, we are desperate for winter clothes, have no heat source, need eye exams and glasses for three of us, have no hay stored for our goats (we have a few dairy goats, that we must have, because our son is highly allergic to store bought milk), we need a new coop for our chickens (we literally live off the eggs), and would love to be able to stock up on Antibacterial foods and herbs(anything we can do to build up our immune system.
As an added bonus we were due to be moved out last month because our landlord wants to sell this place to a nephew. So we need to move as soon as we can and have no way to do this.
My husband needs a better job. We need immediate financial help.
Yes we have tried many charities and churches but everyone is tapped out or we live in the wrong county……..ect.
We are a family of 9 and the youngest are two.
Thank you very much for your prayers :-)
    Me
