About this blog…
“This blog is like a fusion of the Baroque ‘salon’ with its well-tuned harpsichord around which polite society gathered for entertainment and edification and, on the other hand, a Wild West “saloon” with its out-of-tune piano and swinging doors, where everyone has a gun and something to say. Nevertheless, we try to point our discussions back to what it is to be Catholic in this increasingly difficult age, to love God, and how to get to heaven.” – Fr. Z

Good coffee and tea. Help monks.
I use this when I travel both in these USA and abroad. Very useful. Fast enough for Zoom. I connect my DMR (ham radio) through it. If you use my link, they give me more data. A GREAT back up.

PLEASE subscribe via PayPal if it is useful. Zelle and Wise are better, but PayPal is convenient.
A monthly subscription donation means I have steady income I can plan on. I put you my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I often say Holy Mass.
In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?

To donate monthly I prefer Zelle because it doesn't extract fees. Use

Fr. Murray on EWTN with outstanding commentary on recent developments
My friend Fr. Gerald Murray held the lone guest chair with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN the other night, and the video is now available. Fr. Murray is no-nonsense.
Wherein Fr. Z comments on a @RorateCaeli post about priests, permissions and exorcism prayers. Then @fatherz rants.
At Rorate there is a post especially for priests about the proper and improper use of the exorcism prayers in the older Rituale Romanum. It’s a good service. After providing images of a 2009 letter from the Pontifical Commission “Ecclesia Dei” … Read More
Esolen on virtue and chastity in “Wonder Woman” (not the one you immediately thought of)
When I would explain the Decalogue to children, I’d say something like: God didn’t give us rules because he wanted to ruin our fun. These rules are God’s way of saying, “Don’t hurt yourself. You are made in my image. … Read More

UPDATED – Wherein faithful canonist Ed Peters guts papolatrous dilettante Stephen Walford
We’ve seen Stephan Walford before. HERE He is, in essence, papolatrous. He’s also pretty nasty, when it comes right down to it. He blasts away at La Stampa against anyone who dares to have quizzical thoughts about Amoris laetitia. Canonist Ed Peters … Read More

Is the #AmorisLaetitia agenda just the warm up for the full assault on #HumanaeVitae?
If the unrepentent sinner, unshriven and without a firm purpose of amendment, can officially be admitted to Holy Communion, it’s game over for discipline in the Church. It’s over for authoritative teaching on faith and morals. If Christ was wrong about marriage … Read More
Prophetic words from 1966 about the post-Conciliar state of the Church
