   My poor wife was approached by a cop–donut falling out of his mouth–who screamed at her because the windows weren’t down enough for our dog, and that she could be charged with a crime! This was in February!

   I love dogs, and have coddled the one’s I’ve had, but give me a frigging break!

   Let’s have it a Felony to have a dog in the back of a truck, or in a car unbuckled!

   From what I understand about Darwin’s THEORY of Evolution, “extinction” is an integral part of the process. Yet some folks work very hard to subvert the THEORY.

   Of course, who can forget the incident of the Hyperintelligent Fire-Breathing Phase Doppelganger Giant Space Hamster. In their own defense, the scientists responsible did say “We don’t know why everyone is so mad. Genetic engineering is not an exact science. Anyway, we’d just like to get our funding back so we can pay bail and go home.” (This is a literary reference, for those who might be questioning my sanity).

    @ray from mm: Yeah, that is a little strange. On a semi-related note: In natural science, ” THEORY” means “more or less proven correct”. A theory that has not yet been proven is called a “hypothesis”.

    Animals can be locally endangered. Just because there is a large population of them in one place does not make them not able to be endangered elsewhere, for example if their habitat there is disappearing. There are places in South America where the black caiman is endangered because the people are eating too many of them.

    Ike: “theory” means, “a rule which fits the facts as currently known.” A hypothesis may or may not be a theory that is not yet proven, it may not involve the complexity of a theory.

    to those making the abortion references, the European Court of Justice dose not rule on abortion etc because it’s job is to rule on application of EU treaties, and there’s plenty of legal work on European wildlife to be ruled on

    the European Court of Human Rights which is under the Council of Europe (not to be confused with the European Union) has concerned itself with abortion in the past has has been more prolife than sadly the US Supreme Court ever has
