   Just another perfect example of the oppression females face in this oppressive patriarchal hierarchy. *sarcasm*

   It looks good, though given that I’m in Canada and therefore a day of fasting and abstinence, my lunch consisted of an egg, apple, and a cheese bun. I have stocked up on my fish supply today, and shall be having a salmon steak cooked somehow. I’m not sure yet. I am open to suggestions.

   Gotta love Chinatown, which is rapidly engulfing Little Italy (pretty much surrounds it on three sides).

   As a non-expert might I suggest those could be blue crabs in the first photo? It has been a long time since I have been to Maryland crab territory.

   Addendum: the underside of the crabs appear to have a triangular shape, which is supposed to indicate they are male crabs.

    You know I started visiting this site for its liturgical commentary and slavishly accurate translations. But Fr. Z’s cooking is equally fantastic to witness. I think Fr. Z needs to compile a “Say the Black, Do the Red” cook book. I would DEFINITELY purchase one and put it right on the shelf next to my “Cooking with the Saints” cookbook by Ignatius Press…

    No dumplings? Alas. Those are female crabs, their belly shell is in the shape of an ‘apron’. They are indeed blue crabs. I’ll bet that was a delicious meal.

    [Dumplings generally have meat, at least the kind I like. Not on First Friday!]

    I had Trix for dinner because I humored my third child with whom I was staying home because he is sick with a cold. My wife and other three boys had barbecued chicken at my parents with a scrumptious birthday cake for dessert boy #2 turned 6). Fr. Z. had beautiful seafood.

    I weep.
