There is a semi-cute video out there which explains in a nutshell “How To Become Pope”. The video has a flawed premise in that the priesthood, episcopacy, cardinalate, and papacy are described in terms of a career path for those who want to “climb the corporate ladder”, the short video is amusing. There are also a couple flaws in terminology and procedure which some of you will catch. But… beh… it’s amusing.

Monty Python allusions never get old!
I love CPG Grey’s videos. He is entertaining and quite informative. Hopefully whoever is elected won’t have seen his entire vocation as an ambitious gamble to climb to the top, but who knows? Not all popes are saints.

This didn’t ring a bell with the little of Monty Python that I know, but it made me laugh anyway.
If I had to choose between a wise and firm confessor and an eminently holy one, I hope I’d choose the former—feeling rather the same thing about popes right now.

By my math, it comes out to 76.6%, but of course, I required a tutor just to squeak by with a passing grade. Ummmm, which cardinal is only 6% all there? Maybe I shouldn’t ask!

Excellent evidence for why a) the conclave should not be run as if it were The Dating Game and b) the laity (or at least certain laity) shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
A gentle little satire by our Lutheran friends, with a lot of fellow-feeling for us Catholics.
Assuming it was basically accurate, from that video I actually learned some stuff I didn’t know before about how bishops are appointed.
I learned something! This is my first Pope election since I converted.
Believe it or not, apart from the satirical style, it isn’t too far from the mark, and actually could be educational to someone who knows nothing about the process. Of course, I am partial to anything with Monty Python allusions.

66.66666% is correct for 2/3. Also Pope Benedict has made the 2/3 necessary even if the election goes over 12 days (Pope John Paul the 2nd had allowed a majority vote at that point.) I believe that if it goes over 12 days, only the two candidates with the highest number of votes become eligible, which could humanly seen leave us in a long stalemate until the Holy Spirit inspires the Cardinals to choose the correct one of these two.
Delightful drawings and informative too. Interested to see that although the voiceover is American the Cathedral interior shown is that of Westminster Cathedral in London.
