Those zany Satanists!

In case you were wondering, the satanic event scheduled to be held in an Oklahoma City civic center (thus, state operated), is still on and has sold out.  HERE

But, hey!  Don’t worry.  These are just benign people doing their thing.  Right? No consecrated Host, no harm, no foul, right?

In other news, we read at The Mail:

Terrified five-year-old boy has his eyes gouged out with spoon by his mother and five relatives in satanic ritual

A Mexican family has been jailed for gouging out the eyes of their five-year-old relative with a spoon during a satanic ritual to bring about the end of the world.

Fernando Caleb Alvarado Rios was ordered to close his eyes out of respect with his mother, grandparents, aunt and uncles as they danced in a circle and called on Satan to reveal himself.

But when he was too scared to do so, his mother, Maria del Carmen Garcia Rios, grabbed a spoon and the entire group gouged them out.

[…]

Fun and games, huh?

I hope Archbishop Coakley will use the older, traditional Rituale Romanum before, during, and after this evil event, the shame of the city officials.

Hey, just another religion of pieces!

  2. incredulous says:

Christians are the bad guys for “offending” everybody else. However, Satanists could hardly be accused of offending anyone from Christians to secularists. I mean, gouging out eyes is just par for the course in our corrupted societies. He but who are we to judge? We must be tolerant and inclusive. ENOUGH.

  3. HeatherPA says:

Is $17.50 worth a person’s soul, all for the sake of shock and curiosity? I guarantee 95% of the attendees are going out of curiosity, thinking it’s all fun and games.
I,too, hope the Bishop prays the older Ritual outside the place while this horrible blasphemy is going on.

  4. Gerard Plourde says:

While it’s undeniable that worshipping and calling on Satan is a dangerous and deluded business one thing they won’t be using is a consecrated host. Archbishop Coakley’s lawsuit resulted in a restraining order that required that the hosts not be “concealed, damaged, destroyed or removed”. The Satanist turned the hosts over to his attorney for safekeeping and then agreed to surrender them to the Church in exchange for a withdrawal of the lawsuit. According to the August 21 report the Satanists will instead be using “coarse black bread”. The lawyer for the Archdiocese stated “the event has no significance without the Eucharist being there.” I wouldn’t go that far but I would say that the extreme blasphemy that they originally anticipated has been thwarted. Let us also keep the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City in our prayers during the days leading up to the Satanists’ action.

  5. Michael 1964 says:

It is interesting that many Catholic radio show hosts are hesitant to condemn this Satanic service due to questions of religious liberty. I mean, if we want to protect our religious liberty, perhaps we have to defend the Satanists’ “right” to worship. Let’s face it, if there were a Hindu service OK City, no one would complain at all. In fact, the good bishop might send a priest to attend the service or he might attend it himself, though the Hindus worship demons. Ah…how much of a mess we get ourselves into when we embrace the Masonic and demonic error of religious liberty. If only we could return to saner times where only the true Religion had rights, whereas false religions and sects were merely tolerated or even suppressed due to its evil and damage to the public good.

  6. pannw says:

I read that they would also be performing an ‘exorcism’ to force the Holy Ghost out of someone. Amazing…these people know and believe in the Truth better than most self described Catholics, and they HATE Him. I’d ask the Lord to forgive them for they know not what they do, but apparently they know exactly what they are doing. This is why they seek consecrated Hosts, and why they would even bother with an ‘exorcism’ of the sort. Of course, some of the observers are likely going to be ‘cool and edgy’, and don’t really believe. I can’t help but wish that the Lord would give them a glimpse of exactly what they are trying to get, in order to scare the literal Hell out of them before it is too late. Images of the Calormenes coming face to face with Tash in the shed come to mind.

    God have mercy.

  7. scarda says:

Their ‘Satanic exorcism’, since it is supposed to be the opposite of the Christian rite, will probably result in everyone’s being possessed by the end of the evening. Quite an entertainment. Wouldn’t be within 50 miles of that place for any consideration on earth.

  8. Rob in Maine says:

88 tickets? What so special about the number 88?

  9. Mary Jane says:

I heard that “sold out” = 88 tickets. Obviously that’s still 88 too many. The city officials should be ashamed of themselves for not forcing the cancelation of this event.

  10. LarryW2LJ says:

    As scarda said:

“Wouldn’t be within 50 miles of that place for any consideration on earth.”

But if I did have the misfortune of being within 50 miles of the place, you can bet the farm that I’d want to somewhere where I could be on my knees before the Blessed Sacrament while that vile ceremony was taking place.

  11. msc says:

I agree that this is deeply offensive. But Americans are guaranteed freedom of religion, regardless of how offensive it might be to anyone (within the law, of course). We should pray, but we should also recognize that there is deep evil in this world and guard against it wherever it appears in whatever guise.
As for the Mexican incident, there has also been no shortage of horrors committed in, say, Africa, in recent years by people that call themselves Christians performing exorcisms and such. Evil people will always find an excuse to commit evil. One does not have to proclaim oneself a Satanist to do so.

  12. HeatherPA says:

Also, to add the truth that any “reverse exorcism” or however they are describing it, for them to “drive out the Holy Spirit” is laughable at best and clearly shows their ignorance of God and Satan. Satan and his minions, on earth and under the earth, do not “drive out the Holy Spirit”. What a joke. I do fear their presumption may backfire spectacularly.

  13. VexillaRegis says:

The mental ward in Oklahoma City ought to have extra staff on duty from this day on.

  14. JesusFreak84 says:

Course, black bread was actually the preference of the “Church of Satan’s” founder in his writings; he personally didn’t give two whits about a Host being used, but I also don’t think he came from a Catholic background.

And ditto above that the same “religious liberty” claims the USCCB wish to use with the Obama HHS can be turned on their heads to justify this Satanic act. Either all religions in America will be equally expressed or equally suppressed, in the end; guess where I’m putting my money… In the end, even the Muslims will be “dealt with,” for their “anti-LGBTQ” views.

  15. Mary Jane says:

“I agree that this is deeply offensive. But Americans are guaranteed freedom of religion, regardless of how offensive it might be to anyone (within the law, of course).”

This same argument is being used in the homosexual and pro-choice movements.

  16. Fr. Thomas Kocik says:

I have little doubt that anyone who willfully participates in a Satanic exorcism in the hope of having the Holy Spirit driven out of him has already lost the Holy Spirit (perhaps quite some time ago) and therefore needn’t bother with the ceremony. Pray for these poor lost souls.

  17. kat says:

I still am perplexed why anyone believes they WON’t Use a consecrated Host. Let’s see, a follower of the Father of Lies says he gave back the consecrated Host he had planned on using. Hmmm, and I bet he had no possible way of getting an unconsecrated host and giving THAT one back, all the while keeping Our Lord. It amazes me no one else even has suggested this possibility. But hey, someone like that would not try to lie and deceive, right?

I would love to be wrong; I see no reason why I also couldn’t be correct. Short of a Eucharistic miracle with the returned host, we won’t know, will we?

    Kyrie Eleison

  18. VexillaRegis says:

    kat,
exactly what I have thought all the time.

  19. The Cobbler says:

“…during a satanic ritual to bring about the end of the world.”
You don’t know the true meaning of the words “truth is stranger than fiction” till you learn that what diabolical schemes only monsters and lawyers attempt on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ordinary human beings attempt in real life.

“As for the Mexican incident, there has also been no shortage of horrors committed in, say, Africa, in recent years by people that call themselves Christians performing exorcisms and such.”
Considering it’s news to me, you might want to suggest some sources of further info rather than just throwing that claim out there and expecting us all to believe it — or even just be specific enough that we’d know what you mean by “horrors” with regard to “exorcisms and such”.

  20. Mary Jane says:

kat, I have been thinking the same thing as well. :(

  21. Gretchen says:

Did a short Google search and the number 88 is purported to have some connection with the occult, including Illuminati. The number 11 has significance in Satanism, so the multiples of 11 do also. Some people also make a connection of the number 88 with the attack on the World Trade Center. There is also a suggestion that 88 is connected to the words “Heil Hitler.”

    Yuck, yuck.

  22. RomeontheRange says:

    Historical note:
We have a long tradition of civil disobedience in this country, don’t we?
    Jus’ sayin’….

  23. Salvelinus says:

Not that I don’t trust the promise of a Satan worshipping sex offender, but can we really assume that a consecrated host will not be.used?

Just this past weekend at my neighborhood parish, I watched in horror as multiple people walked away (far away) from the multiple EMHC (ie, “Eucharistic ministers” per the parish website) before placing the host from their hands into their mouths.

Theft of the blessed sacrament is all too real a possibility at most churches here in south Texas at least and I’m having a difficult time in taking Mr Satan worshippers word.

  24. MouseTemplar says:

OK. Going to log some extra time that day in adoration of said consecrated Host.

Honestly, the stuff going on these days keeps me so danged busy praying about it all.

  25. Salvelinus says:

    @Michael 1964

You have gotten to the crux of the issue my friend.
In the age of religious liberty that the establishment Catholic media stresses as the ultimate shibboleth, they cannot decry a Satanist gathering since its the ultimate hypocrisy to do so.

The Catholic church is the one true church, without which there is no salvation. But try to get anyone to say that anymore.

  26. Alaina says:

I just read an article this morning about how The Satanic Temple is going to handout activity books in the Orange County, Florida schools. They said that they want equal exposure in response to Christian groups handing out information and bibles. This is the article:

    http://preview.msn.com/en-us/news/us/satanists-want-to-give-out-materials-in-florida-schools/ar-BB3Zn98

Another article I read last week, was about the same organization opening a chapter in Detroit. Here’s it is:
    http://www.freep.com/article/20140906/NEWS05/309060028/Detroit-Satanic-Temple

They are trying to present themselves as a group that is for social activism and enlightenment, using religious freedom as their shield. Liberal minds and the youth are definitely the target, and have always been historically. Our society has worked so hard over the past decades to starve itself from morality and religion, that there is a real opportunity for, as Father called them, “those zany Satanists”.

Satan tempted Christ’s humanity in the desert, and His humanity resisted. Satan fought to win the soul he most coveted on earth not with a physical battle, but by appealing to the desires and weaknesses of a man. Christ prayed, was steadfast in his faith, and didn’t yell his victory from the rooftops. The Satanic organizations in our current events are craving a lot of public attention. If we follow Christ’s lead, it won’t be long before the different Satanic sects start publically vying for supremacy amongst themselves, showing their own weaknesses.

Given what is going on in Oklahoma, the biggest button that the Satanic organizations want to push is the Catholic button. They are working very hard in a very small period of time to have a credible place in society . No doubt, a deadline for this accomplishment is Pope Francis’ visit next year. I agree with what Kat said above about the group in Oklahoma possibly switching a consecrated host with an unconsecrated host. There should be great attention now to what is used at this black mass. Even if a host is buried in the black bread, if the public finds out, I would like to think that it would hurt the “credibility” of the organization. They chose to play the political game, and it would be wise if they abided by it. If they don’t, then, hopefully, the public would have less doubt that these organizations would sacrifice animals, humans, and gouge the eyes out of innocent children. They even admit (in the Detroit article above) to placing self-indulgence over the practice of societal values. I can assume that integrity would be one of those values. I don’t think it would be the first time a consecrated host would have been used in one of these rituals. The fact that they tried to publically do so, was to push to see how much the government would allow in defaming the Catholic faith. Whether they keep to their agreement or not, prayer is definitely needed.
Our Most Blessed Mother and St. Michael the Archangel, be at our sides and pray for us.

  27. Supertradmum says:

Those who watched the Superbowl half-time witnesses singers calling down satan…so too, this area will be vulnerable to demonic influence.

Many of us have fasted and prayed against this…please do not stop.

We do not want anyone to go to hell, even though it does look like they are choosing hell over God and His Goodness.

  28. MouseTemplar says:

Oh, that dear little boy. He looks so much like my son, also 8. Such devastation wrought on him. He will need prayers for protection all of his life. Fernando is his name, please add him to your prayers; what a terrible beginning.
