Even For Fishwrap a new low

fishwrapFrom The Fishwrap (aka National Sodomitic Reporter)… The Church should work with Big Business Abortion – Planned Parenthood.

To them, I’m sure, this is reasonable.

Sample:

The Catholic church should partner with Planned Parenthood to reduce abortions

After 40 years of rosaries prayed in front of abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood offices, annual marches, and millions upon millions of dollars raised to fund the anti-abortion lobby and the related jobs program for the anti-abortion lobbyists, what is the end result? Eh.
This past Saturday, thousands of anti-abortion activists protested at Planned Parenthood sites across the nation demanding that the federal government defund the organization, according to Reuters. Bishop David Ricken of Green Bay, Wis., diocese prayed in front of a local Planned Parenthood health clinic.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that Eric Ferrero, Vice President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement that the rallies were meant “to intimidate and harass” the organization’s patients. “Unlike these protesters, compassion is at the center of what we do, and we will continue to provide care, and a safe, welcoming environment for our patients, no matter what,” Ferrero said.

Forty years of the same behavior from both sides of the abortion debate. Forty years.

Let’s face it. It’s time for the Catholic church and Planned Parenthood to try something dramatically different: to work closely together in order to reduce the number of abortions. It’s time for a committee of national Catholic lay leaders and executives of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers to begin a sincere dialogue about creating a new way forward — together.

[…]

Seriously?

It’s good that this rubbish is so long that few people will read it.

Lay leaders… no mention of the hierarchy. Fishwrap pits laity against clergy. Their idea of sensus fidelium excludes influence of the Church’s pastors and replaces them with polls.

Elsewhere I asked for prayers for the Fishwrap, that God would bring about either conversions or closure.

Involucrum delendum est.

UPDATE:

The Great Roman adds:

Sure and Pius XII should’ve worked with the Nazis to save the million Jews he saved, and Francis would do well to endorse ISIS to save Christians in the Middle East. The Vatican could offer its diplomatic immunities to ship baby parts around the world without much trouble….

Or the argument from reason; the Church has already reduced the abortions it performs (sic.) to zero, is all in, and calls.

Not in Arizona. PP closed all its facilities so that it could send its employees to the counter protest.

I think a Catholic Church-Planned Parenthood partnership aimed at reducing abortions would be a wonderful thing, provided, of course, that there is an appropriate partnership agreement. The partnership agreement would just need to include the following three provisions:

    1. Planned Parenthood shall immediately cease and desist from distributing artificial contraception, from advising women to have an abortion, and from performing abortions.

    2. All Planned Parenthood centers shall offer instruction, provided by qualified clergy or lay persons, in chastity, natural family planning (for married clients) and JPII’s theology of the body, and no center shall in any way promote abortion or artificial contraception.

    3. Planned Parenthood shall devote at least one third of its (sizable) budget to an ongoing media campaign aimed at the promotion of chastity, the denunciation of abortion and artificial contraception and the promotion of natural family planning for married couples. The Catholic Church shall match Planned Parenthood’s financial contributions in this regard, if possible.

It is hard to imagine how anything could help reduce abortions more than a joint Catholic Church-Planned Parenthood effort along the foregoing lines.

Unbelievable. Faced with the undeniable proof that these are babies and that they are being dismembered and sold for parts, instead of crying out, “Dear God, what have we done?!”, these gorgons from hell are doubling down! God is making this as clear as it can be. They are choosing evil with their eyes wide open. None will be able to look Jesus the Just Judge in the eyes and say.”I didn’t know.” Oh, repent, before it’s too late! You’ll wish your fate was merely a millstone necklace!

Does this writer actually not understand that PP’s goal is to INCREASE the number of abortions. The murder of unborn infants is how they make money. They have no reason whatsoever to work with the Church or anyone else to reduce abortions.

  7. Mary of Carmel says:

Isn’t it possible for these guys to be shut down? (Seriously.) What about the bishops? Why aren’t they saying anything?
    This article is unbelievable…and sinful!!!

  8. benedetta says:

So, when they say “reduce”…did they put maybe a number on their vision? I mean like the candidate HRC once said of abortion that it ought to be “rare” — even if there is a commensurate drop with health care for all and free stuff and more services, still, what would be a ballpark number the Fishwrap et al would be satisfied with in terms of their hope for the Church to partner with PP? I suppose the Fishwrap figures, their funding comes from the same sorts of people/1%ers who advocate for Corporate Big PP and baby killed live through torture without consent and parts sold to sundry crass whackadoodle to the tune of a half b-b-b-billion of taxpayer ca ching, so, you know. The corruption.

  9. iamlucky13 says:

“Unbelievable. Faced with the undeniable proof…”

But is it unbelievable? Since we already knew what unborn babies looked like, and what abortion does to them, the most disturbing part of the videos for me was the sinking realization as the videos started to be discussed that no more than a very small handful of people in this country would recoil from their support of abortion in disgust, or even Planned Parenthood in particular.

Actually, the most common response I’ve heard so far doesn’t get as far as considering whether or not organ trading is acceptable. Instead, it’s, “the videos were edited.”

Yes, they were cut down to just the most important clips. That’s routine editing, just like on the evening news. In this case, however, the suggestion being made is the editing that was done means the videos themselves are fake. This allows them to confidently conclude that the Planned Parenthood officials were not actually negotiating prices on pieces of hacked apart babies or bragging about how good they’ve gotten at cracking infant’s skulls to maximize the commercial value of their spinal cords, etc. That was faked by anti-abortion extremists.

  10. Aquinas Gal says:

They’re so naive they think that PP has good will. It’s all about money. On one video Holly O’Donnell described the doctor who would do abortions so fast, just to get as many done as possible. He would pace the halls if no one came in!
From Genesis we see what happens when we start to talk to the devil. Much less should we work with him!

Meanwhile, researches from top Catholic universities provide what they say is evidence that had Christ invited Satan to share time on the famous Sermon on the Mount (in the spirit of ecumenism) the world would now be one of peace and tranquility, allowing God to close heaven due to the lack of need of replicating that found here on earth.
The Vatican is considering inviting several notable theology professors to speak at the upcoming Synod.

  16. Scott W. says:

“Reducing abortions” is code, and not very deep code, for “abortions are often sad situations, but only rarely morally offensive.” Liars gonna lie.

  17. Cajetan says:

So from this “catholic” publication we get “anti-abortion lobbyists”‘instead of pro-life lobbyists and Planned Parenthood “health clinic” instead of abortion mill?!?! They even use the language of the abortion industry.

Catholics working with PP to reduce the number? This writer’s piece would be absurd even for The Onion.

  21. The so-called “compassion” of Planned Parenthood is never extended to the most innocent and defenseless of those involved in their abortions, the defenseless infants whom they brutally murder and dismember.

  24. MarylandBill says:

Of course, ultimately what liberals really mean when they say the Church should cooperate with Planned Parenthood to reduce the number of abortions is that we should get on the band wagon with respect to Artificial contraception. This of course ignores the fact that according to the Guttmacher Institute (a pro-abortion advocacy group), about 50% of abortions involve women who have used contraceptives in the month before they got pregnant.

Ultimately, we need to learn, sex has consequences, it will always have consequences and no drugs we can take are going to be able to take away all of them. Sex allows men and women to be co-creators with God in a most profound way, so even trying to stop that is horrible.

  25. WYMiriam says:

wmeyer: “A new low, and yet, not so much of a stretch”

That reminds me of a line from a short science fiction story I read years ago (sorry, I don’t recall either the title or the author or the collection it was in). The antagonist had done something abysmally, detestably deplorable, whereupon someone else said of him that he was “lower than a snake’s belly” and that he was “reaching up to touch bottom.” Methinks that PP is in the same relative position as that evil-doer was. . .

  26. WYMiriam says:

Pardon me. “Despicable”, not “deplorable” was the word I was looking for in my post of yesterday. . .
