On the feast of St. Mary Magdalene homosexualist Jesuit James Martin said that he is “stupefied” that the Church doesn’t let women preach.
Right away I posted HERE that all major orders have female components except the Jesuits. Martin would do well to tend to his own house.
Others on Twitter picked this up. Jesuits are doing some gymnastics.

Which, in effect, says: “It’s not our fault! Blame it on the Popes!” Well, there’s a Jesuit Pope now. What better time to seek a redress of this injustice? After all, “there’s a lot going on there!”

In effect, this says, “See! See! There was a woman!”
Ironically, the isolated example only serves to make the point: there are no female Jesuits.
There are female Augustinians, Basilians, Dominicans, Franciscans… etc.
Juana, by the way, had to pretend to be a man to make her secret vows. Hence, she is the only female Jesuit and…

This was (and is) a source of sadness for not a few Jesuits, who wanted a “women’s branch” (as with the Dominicans and Franciscans). On the other hand, many women’s religious congregations take inspiration from Ignatian spirituality the Jesuit Constitutions. (The RCSJs, eg.)

It would seem that with priests like Fr. Martin, there is no compelling need for female Jesuits.

While amusing, in particular because they haven’t provided for themselves any rational basis for exclusion, I’m not sure the focus on the Society of Jesus not allowing women is going anywhere productive.
For one, I’m inclined to support institutes specifically serving the needs of men or women exclusively if they deem it prudent.
For another, it’s not addressing the more important topic of why sermons in the Mass should be reserved to priests or deacons.

The contemplative, cloistered Dominican nuns whose formal name is the Nuns of the Order of Preachers have been women Preachers for 813 years by reason of their consecration to the mission of preaching the Gospel which is the charism of the Dominican Order. The first nuns were called the Sister Preacheresses . Their preaching is silent and hidden expressed in intercession and the praise of God through liturgical prayer.
Would taking vows under an assumed name, and pretending to be something you are not, invalidate those vows?

The claim is not that she took does under another name, but that St. Francis Borgia put her on the rolls under another name.
And there does not seem to be any documentary evidence. And I already talked about this in the other thread.
I have no problem with the Jesuits being exclusively men, nor almost all priests.
I do, however, object to them portraying themselves as expert leaders on women in the Church. It’s like a reformed alcoholic giving advice on moderate drinking.
There was time when there usually could be found a Jesuit expert on almost everything. Those days are long gone.

At this point in history suppression — extinction — appears to be the only solution.
Never reformed? Didn’t Vatican II call for the reform of religious orders? Isn’t it time for the Jesuits to be reformed, then?
