PODCAzT 65: St. Ambrose “On mysteries”; Interview: Fr. Robert Pasley

Today we hear from St. Ambrose of Milan (+397) through his work De mysteriis, an excerpt of which was in today’s Office of Readings in the Liturgia horarum.  Since I found that the Latin edition of the breviary had cut some of the text, and since I didn’t like the English translation in the Liturgy of the Hours volume, I dug out an old translation from a book on my shelf and read from paragraph 52 to the end.

De mysteriis is one of St. Ambrose’s catechetical works, a compilation from addresses to the newly baptized about the sacraments, the mysteries of our faith.  This is part of the great bishop’s mystagogical preaching.

Then we have an interview with the wonderful Fr. Robert Pasley, Rector of Mater Ecclesiae in Berlin, NJ, in the Diocese of Camden.  He talks about being in charge of a parish set up for the use of the pre-Conciliar books for years now before Summorum Pontificum derestricted the "Extraordinary" use of the Roman Rite.   My method of recording the conversation was a little strange, but it worked.  I’ll tell you how I did it.

How come this podcast is not showing up in my iTunes? Your anti-spam words are very clever.
