Here is a very different sense of "liturgical translation".
The indefatigable liturgical eye-candy specialists over at NLM have posted some great screen captures of the translation of the relics of Ven. John Henry Newman along with the Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Birmingham, Most Rev. Vincent Nicols whom the Oratorians spiffed up very nicely.

It may not be obvious from these photos that this Mass at the Birmingham Oratory was an ordinary form Mass.
I\’m attended some beautiful OF Latin Masses, but this one exhibited the potential of the Novus Ordo to a greater extent than anything I\’ve seen previously. Beyond, for instance, one televised from St. John Cantius in Chicago. (It, as well as this one, incidentally, with ordinary parts from Mozart\’s Coronation Mass.)
It\’s commonplace for traditionally oriented folks to remark (as I myself have) that it will be very significant if and when the Pope celebrates an EF Mass.
But it will also be significant — and a boost to the reform of the reform — if and when the Pope celebrates an OF Mass in the manner of this one — fully ad orientem, deacon and subdeacon acting like such, Sanctus procession, propers sung by schola, no horde of hovering concelebrants, etc.
It might even suggest to some skeptics that the two forms are indeed of the same rite. This OF Mass actually had the look and feel of an organic development of the EF, perhaps even a meritorious one.
I’m as big a fan as you could ask for when ikt comes to bishops being spiffed up but why is Vincent Nichols wearing a pallium in the archdiocese of Westminster? He’s not getting ahead of himself is he?
Mr. O’Rourke: The Birmingham Oratory is the Archdiocese of Birmingham. The London Oratory is in the Archdiocese of Westminster. This took place in the former.
I was just looking at the pictures at the NLM site when that fact suddenly hit me. Newman was, of course, from the Birmingham Oratory. I had hoped to get back and enter this correction before anyone else got to it. but you beat me.
I will now sheepishly retreat.
