uh, I want one of those t-shirts!
Father,
What is your opinion of the quality of the t-shirts?
Excellent Sabine post ~ great stuff!
“Father, Father, some of those lemons at the front look a little past it…”
You are an excellent photographer.
Does this mean there will be guacamole in your near future?
Love the name ‘Roland de Chanson’ – always makes me smile. There are so many very clever names on these blogs. (Apologies if it is your real name but I do doubt it!) And yes Fr Z seems to be a very giftd photographer – the snowy scenes are magnificent.
I don’t know why but it just looks like Michigan. It could be anywhere, but it looks like Michigan.
Pèlerin,
My name really is Roland but the “de Chanson” is just a whimsical take on the “Chanson de Roland.” I like your nom de combox as well – “Pilgrim.”
I like the wintry scenes Fr. Z. has photographed — they would make great background images for the desktop or Christmas cards. I especially liked the one of the chapel at dusk he had a couple of days ago.
It’s a pity that our Horace didn’t have a machina photographica digitalis at his Sabine farm.`
Father, I might want a handful of those buttons. Do they have taser abilities with remote access? [How I wish….] One might be able to “shock” obedience into a priest or two… My mind must still be a bit warped. Yesterday I reread Franz Kafka’s Penal Colony. I can see “Say the Black, Do the Red” as a commandment being etched upon someone.
Flambeaux: I got the heavier of the two choices of T-shirt and it is pretty good. I don’t know what the lighter one is like. What surprised me a little is that on the mug there is a black outline around the red letters, just as I desired. That is not the case on the T-shirt. Maybe I need to double-check the graphic I uploaded for that. Anyone have any opinions?
I like the black outline.
All in all, I am very pleased with the quality of the mugs. The bold and bright letters against the white, and their size, make an impression.
The little buttons are fun, too! I haven’t seen larger ones yet.
TTM: “Father, Father, some of those lemons at the front look a little past it…”
Well… I am a couple thousand miles from where they are grown, and it is winter, and they were on sale.
But I can assure you they are juicy and useful.
I used a couple for my roast chicken last night and I squeezed a bit into my sauce for the pasta just the brighten it up a little rather than using salt.
The nice lemony chicken with the rosemary turned out fairly well. I also sauteed some mushrooms. The potatoes were done in the Roman manner in the oven with olive oil and rosemary. I have a huge bush of the stuff wintering in the house, you see. I use it a lot.
I like the outlined red lettering.
Thanks for the review of the t-shirt, Father.
This is on my list of things to buy when I next replace tshirts.
And that chicken and pasta looks wonderful.
Perhaps TTM does not know what an avocado looks like.
mbd: Didn’t think of that.
Father,
Where can I get a copy of the Ordo for the Vatican Basilica? (Could not find on Vatican Bookstore, only the general ordo.)
Winter is a beautiful time indeed.
Gee, Father, if you had the time I hire you as a chef!
Pax,
Mike
Fr. Z, would you please let us know the name of the diocese into which you are incardinated and also what your canonical assignment is? Just wondering! Happy Advent!
> “Perhaps TTM does not know what an avocado looks like.”
Or at least it’s what I would’ve said (minus quotation) if I didn’t ;-))
Father, you have the best Catholic food ‘blog I know. Mmmm…
