NEW TLM ANNOUNCMENTS

Every day I get notes from people asking me to be their college campus telephone poll, and advertise their TLM celebrations.

I am usually happy to do so, of course, especially for new TLMs placed on parish schedules.

But I am so overwhelmed with e-mail, I can’t possibly respond to everything.

So… use this entry to post announcements of TLMs for the near future.

Include the necessary who what when where how people need.  Post a parish site link if possible.

These Masses must be at approved churches/chapels in clear union with the Catholic Church.

This isn’t intended to be a discussion thread.

Remember:

NEW TLMs.

NEW TLMs.

NEW TLMs.

Not already scheduled, long-standing TLMs.

There will be a 3 mile Marian procession through the streets of the californian capital, followed by a Solemn High Mass (1962) at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Sacramento California on Saturday, May 9th 2009. The Mass will be celebrated by the priests of St Stephen the First Martyr Parish, which is run by the FSSP.

I realize its a ways off, but we are keen to publicise early and have a large group for the procession. We have a poster, but I can’t upload it. For more information contant the parish. http://www.sacfssp.com

    Thank sand God Bless

The Archdiocese of Boston has just revamped their website (www.rcab.org or BostonCatholic.org)

The parish directory (under the Parishes, Schools & People) menu has improved parish listings over the old format, with separate lines and headings for each language/form in which Mass is celebrated at a given parish, including “In Latin Extraordinary Form”.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a search function yet to allow the user to sort by language/form.

One caveat – The old site used to depend on parishes sending them updates, so some of the information could get horribly out of date. That probably isn’t as much of a problem with listings for Latin Masses, but still… Trust in God, verify anything the website tells you by using the parish website (if available) or telephone.

  8. Rachel says:

Starting in May, we will be having a usus antiquior Mass at historic St. Joseph’s on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 11:00 am in the diocese of St. Augustine.

  9. We’re still trying to get the word out about the 9 AM Sunday Missa Cantata according to the 1962 Missal at New York City’s Church of Our Saviour (38th and Park). It’s been every Sunday since January (previously it had been only on occasional feast days). We’re looking forward to the Palm Sunday procession and also hoping for a big turn out on Easter Sunday.

    Here’s the Church’s web site:

This isn’t brand new, has been going for a few months, so I hope it’s Ok to mention here (it’s not so widely publicised: it’s a place about 35 miles east of London, England, easily reachable by road or rail – in the latter case to Chalkwell station, from where the church is a ten minute walk)

Our Lady of Lourdes & St Joseph, Leigh Road (on the corner of Cliffsea Grove), Leigh-on-Sea, Essex SS9 1NG : TLM (usually a missa cantata, sometimes a low mass), monthly, usually the 1st sunday of the month at 4pm

  13. Neil says:

Still not as widely known as it should be:
    Every Sunday at 11 a.m.
St. Mary Magdalen, Wandsworth Common (not far from Clapham Junction station and thus convenient for visitors to, and residents of, London).
One of the very few places where the Trad Mass is celebrated for a normal congregation, and has been successfully integrated into the parish as the main celebration over the past few months.

Knights of Columbus Agnus Dei Council 12361 in the Bronx, New York is
sponsoring a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Rite on the Feast of
the Annunciation/Incarnation (Wednesday, March 25, 2009) at Our Lady of
Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, New York, 627 East 187th Street,
    (718) 295 3770. The Mass is offered for the Sanctity of Life and for
an end to abortion. The Sisters of Life will lead the Rosary at 7:00
    p.m., with the Mass at 7:30 p.m.

The Feast of the Annunciation is also the 14th anniversary of the issuance of Evangelium Vitae:

\”The one who accepted \”Life\” in the name of all and for the sake of all was Mary, the Virgin Mother; she is thus most closely and personally associated with the Gospel of life. Mary\’s consent at the Annunciation and her motherhood stand at the very beginning of the mystery of life which Christ came to bestow on humanity (cf. Jn 10:10). Through her acceptance and loving care for the life of the Incarnate Word, human life has been rescued from condemnation to final and eternal death.\”

    Steve,

Sounds great! I’d like to get to it sometime. Is that St. John the Baptist in Quincy or St. John the Evangelist someplace else?
