I have been writing to Loomes for old books for years got my first (Dietrich von Hildebrand) long before they began publishing them in english, and also friends that go down and will pick them up for me. You will really enjoy it.
Loome is the best. After trolling their website for months I finally snatched a well kept 1962 Missale Romano-Seraphicum to replace the one I have been using, dusty as it is and having been mended with red duct tape by some misguided soul. And it went for only one month’s worth of a friar’s “day off money.” It’s too bad–or maybe good–that I didn’t know about them when I lived out their way as a novice.
Ooooo, pretty. I like the look of that bookstore.
I was really hoping to visit Loome this week when I was in the Twin Cities for a day, but the public transit options out that way are meager, at best. Unfortunately, it was not to be this time, but at least I have an excuse to return some time soon.
Do they have: Riviere, Jean. Doctrine of the Atonement, A Historical Essay. St. Louis: Herder, 1908. Authorized translation. 2 vols. 240.2-1117-R625c.?
Their website has a catalog you can search.
Watch your pocketbook!
I got to go a few years ago. Since that time, living in St Paul and working there has been on my list of “Plans C” but my friend had a theory that all the young people who work there are seminarians. Hmm.
Certainly not!
