Awesome news! It would be even better if His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI would say a mass in the EF. On this video you’ll notice that then Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger is saying mass in the extraordinary form (4:47 and 5:17; from 1992 and 1999):

I’ve heard he’s not inclined to do so again anytime soon, but this rumor could be wrong–I hope it is. It is curious why the Pope would issue Summorum Pontificum two years ago and still not have said an EF mass?
I think I heard about this at Rorate. I don’t understand the Blessed Sacrament Chapel bit either. If memory serves, that beautiful little room couldn’t hold 50 people for a Mass.
Wish I could attend. I’ll have to be content with being spiritually present…God bless and keep Archbishop Burke!

Fabulous!!! Who knows, the good Archbishop could be getting some great practice…
My wife and I will be arriving in Rome that morning to start our honeymoon. We’re staying near the Vatican, and will do our very best to make this Mass. Gaudeamus!
I have a dream……..Archbishop Burke as the next Pope!
Salus: From your mouth to God’s ears…I mean it!!
don Jeffrey: I am not envious (for that would be a sin) but merely slightly jealous (that is a venial sin…maybe…!)
