In light of all that is going on, and in light of the fact that I have put some combative swag in my online store, I wanted to do something positive.
Some days ago I created a new bunch of car magnets/bumperstickers.
My examples came in the mail today… which I found appropriate after another entry I posted today.
Behold, the “We Love Our Priest” series.
I have quite a few variations.
- We Love Our Priest
- We Love Our Priests
- We Love Our Bishop
- We Love Our Bishops
- God Bless Our Priest
- God Bless Our Priests
- God Bless Our Bishop
- God Bless Our Bishops
- Pray For Our Priests
- Pray For Our Bishops
On the car:
The basic idea, if you haven’t twigged it by now, is to show appreciation for our priests and bishops.
Bishops and priests are under siege by three great enemies, (the world, the flesh and the devil) in a way that lay people are not. Moreover, their roles in Holy Church are being undermined by the forces of Hell … and sometimes priests and bishops help.
This is my little homage for men in the trenches.
Perhaps you will show your appreciation as well.

For the We Love Our Priests section HERE.
UPDATE 30 April 0342 GMT:
A mention in the French Press… and I don’t mean the gizmo for making your Mystic Monk Coffee.
You should add “We love our Dominican Friars” … with a nice simple clip art of a picnic basket.
Random Friar: You make them sound a bit like Yogi Bear!
:) This is a good idea, Fr. Z. Kudos.
Pingback: Show Some Appreciation For Catholic Priests
Great – thanks – a fantastic effort; please support
From a Brother Priest
A long time ago I saw a bumper sticker similar to the priest one that said something like “Some heroes wear black”.
If you live in the diocese of Madison or Phoenix, you should buy a “We Love Our Bishop” bumber sticker. If you live in the diocese of Rochester, Washington D.C. or anywhere in Southern California, it should be a “Pray For Our Bishops” bumpersticker. [Tisk. “Pray For Our Bishops” can and should be used everywhere.]
@FrZ: Well, when we preach we often sound like Yogi Berra.
[I can hear the sermon now… “If the world were perfect, it wouldn’t be!”]
I wonder if adding the adjective “faithful” would have been appropriate. [How small and ungenerous.]
I love the simplicity of your design, and I don’t know how you’d do this in an uncluttered manner, but it would be really really eye-catching if you could make one that included “Pray for our men in the trenches”, etc.!
Love the “some heroes wear black”!
anything about our deacons?
I want one for my cube at work – that will really get them going. I think I’m already referred to as the “crazy Catholic!”
Love all the above. Can you make something with “Men in Black” in it? (Since priests are the original men in black). Though come to think of it, that may be copyrighted :-(
You all have some great suggestions. Let’s try these first!
Wonderful. Bought two.
What an excellent idea. I’ve purchased one in support my bishops and am encouraging parishioners to do the same. Thank you.
@ Spencer –
Yes, I too was wondering about the “forgotten ordo!”
I visited a Latin parish some time ago that prayed for an increase in vocations for religious and for priests. Not a word about vocations to the diaconate…
Great idea about the stickers, though.
I just ordered a “Bless Our Bishop” magnet. The image complete with piping was a great idea.
A great idea but a good way of getting your car keyed
My vote is for a seminarian version!
Father, might you consider making a, “I love my German Shepherd – Pope Benedict XVI” bumper magnet? I saw some excellent ones in OR, apprently made by a parishoner at Holy Rosary (Dominican Rite) parish in Portland, but he has ceased to sell them. :-( I’d buy oodles if you made them. (as I do several of your products — my pastor was delighted by the “Lex Orandi / Credendi” magnet, btw!) [Excellent!] I would definitely sport a sticker professing my love and appreciation for our priests, but am just not as fond of the the design this time. (it makes me think of the headless horseman – sorry!)
