Planned Parenthood copycats 40 Day for Life to pray FOR abortion

Planned Parenthood is evil.  Planned Parenthood is evil to its roots.

From Life News:

Planned Parenthood Sets Up 40 Days of Prayer for Abortion

by Steven Ertelt

A local Planned Parenthood abortion business in California is copycatting the 40 Days for Life campaign, which recently resulted in saving the lives of more than 700 unborn children from abortion. [Therefore cutting into Planned Parenthood’s profit margin.] The abortion business has set up its own 40 Days of Prayer for the local abortion center.

We trust you to decide about your sexuality, having your children, and planning your family,” [This is the point of a recent Commonweal article, praised by Fishwrap.] says a flier promoting the Humbolt County Clergy for Choice event. “We are religious leaders who value all human life. We accept that religions differ about when life begins. We are here to help.”

We believe that human life is holy. That’s why we believe in your right to choose to be a parent or not,” the pro-abortion religious leaders continue. “It can be helpful to talk with friends you trust, with licensed counselors, and with whatever religious person you choose. Humboldt County Clergy are available to talk with you about the spiritual aspects of choice. Find out more by calling Six Rivers Planned Parenthood.”

“Humboldt County Clergy for Choice invite you to set aside time with your family and community to support women and reproductive justice for 40 days from March 18th through April 27th,” they say.  [“Reproductive justice”.  My Jesus, mercy! What a distortion of the concept of justice!  The greatest victory of liberals and feminists in this matter is the shifting of abortion to being a “women’s issue” and away from being a true social justice issue.  There is no more fundamental concern in the sphere of social justice, but everyone has been lured into thinking it is located elsewhere.]

The flyer promotes specific prayers for abortion for each day:

* “Day 1: Today we pray for women for whom pregnancy is not good news, that they know they have choices.”

* “Day 34: Today we give thanks for abortion escorts who guide women safely through hostile gauntlets of protestors.”

*”Day 36 Today we pray for the families we’ve chosen, May they know the blessing of choice.”

* “Day 38: Today we pray for a cloud of gentleness to surround every abortion facility. May everyone feel calm and loving.”  [and lethal.]

* “Day 40: Today we give thanks and celebrate that abortion is still safe and legal.”

Some of the local “churches” participating in the pro-abortion prayer event include: Temple Beth El in Eureka, Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bayside, St. Francis in Fortuna [Episcopal], Old Town Gazebo in Eureka, and Arcata United Methodist.

Liberals see abortion as one of their “sacraments”.

Sigh. Where can I begin? Just yesterday, as part of a continuation of the 40 Days in our nearby Annapolis (the last stand-alone PP abortion clinic in our county, all praise and thanks to God) 50 people and pastors gathered to pray for the closure of this clinic and for the women and girls who may have gone in there on Tuesday (abortion day.) The only thing hostile around there were the stony cold looks from the ‘escorts’ who were brought in from somewhere and from the owner of the building. Oh, and a lady who drove by and yelled that we should remember it’s not all about abortion in there (PP) and that we should remember to be kind. I thought to myself that there wasn’t much kindness at all about abortion and that there is nothing kind going on in that office. But a more peaceful, prayerful, happy, loving group of pray-ers you could not find. We prayed for the workers there and the women and girls who may have gone in and for the escorts, too. In prayer, we asked God to close up this last abortuary. Just about a month ago, with much effort and donation and volunteers, a Crisis Pregnancy Center was opened right accross the street from PP!!! Thanks be to God.

With God’s help may no more children die and no more women be hurt, live lives of regret or die from a botched abortion.

  2. Talk about sacrilege re-crucifying Christ. But as Christ we must say: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” For it is far worse to believe that these quislings know what they do.

  3. Maggie says:

How unquestionably demonic! The Evil One always perverts what is good and true; this is just sick. St. Michael, defend us in battle!

  4. irishgirl says:

    Evil….simply evil….
    Lord, have mercy….!

  5. Dr. K says:

If they’re going to have a 40 days for abortion, maybe we need an 80 days for life?

  6. Dr. Eric says:

“Let their table become as a snare before them, and a recompense, and a stumblingblock. Let their eyes be darkened that they see not; and their back bend thou down always. Pour out thy indignation upon them: and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. Let their habitation be made desolate: and let there be none to dwell in their tabernacles. Because they have persecuted him whom thou hast smitten; and they have added to the grief of my wounds. Add thou iniquity upon their iniquity: and let them not come into thy justice. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; and with the just let them not be written.” -Psalm 68(69): 23-29

How do these people sleep at night?
Orwellian doesn’t seem to cover it (All life is Holy therefore ending Life is OK?)

I’m thinking about institutiong some sort of daily prayer for life….
And a prayer to protect the innocent for “clergy” like this…..

may St. Michael protect all priests and religious, keep them loyal and faithful Christ and the Church.

  8. mysticalrose says:

It gives me chills to think about to whom they are presumably praying.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

  9. kelleyb says:

From Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals
“The tenth rule… is you do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments…. It involves sifting the multiple factors which combine in creating the circumstances at any given time… Who, and how many will support the action?… If weapons are needed, then are appropriate d weapons available? Availability of means determines whether you will be underground or above ground; whether you will move quickly or slowly…” p.36
Isn’t is interesting left are co-oping the Pro life arguments of free will and God’s mercy, while totally ignoring the Commandant Thou shall not kill? The left are ruthless. If you haven’t read the Rules for Radicals yet, you will be blindsided by their reach for power in the coming months. They will use ANY means to achieve their goals.
We have prayer and awareness of their tactics on ours.
    St. Michael pray for us.

  10. Frank_Bearer says:

But if the USCCB keeps clamoring for a blanket “Religious Liberty” isn’t this exactly what they should expect?

  11. ivan_the_mad says:

Time to pray the maledictory psalms?

  12. Peggy R says:

Wow. Among the many offenses, “pray for the families we’ve chosen.” Gee, so much for you can’t choose your family. We are infertile and adopted our children. We could have “chosen” by shopping for the right hair, eyes, sex, age, etc. We did have some limited suggested parameters. We didn’t need a newborn as many people want. I tell my children God sent them to us. We were meant to be together. I don’t like to say I chose them. It makes them sound like new shoes. In fact, we didn’t choose these particular children. We said we wanted to adopt 2 toddlers, and they were the children chosen for us. It was God’s plan. We didn’t line them up and choose among the children. (How could any one do that?) I do choose to love and raise them. They are my own. It didn’t matter what tummy they came from.

And how do natural children think? “You chose me, but not the one before me? Not this next one? Not my little sister/brother? What was wrong with those ones? Why don’t you love and want them?” Will they have survivor’s guilt? Will they hate their parents? So much for the more the merrier, more love to go around…

  14. kab63 says:

My first baby was conceived, and later born, in Humboldt Co, CA. He was an unplanned pregnancy and I was as much a crazed hippie (and unpracticing Catholic) as everyone else in the region. Yet the Lord spoke in my heart and I listened; prayer, love and support from others made me strong. Idiots like these are in every farmer’s market and herb store in town. Ignore them and stay focused on faith.

  15. Bea says:

I couldn’t believe it when I first read this on another blog.
Do they really expect God’s blessing on THIS?
They saw the success of prayer working AGAINST them.
    Didn’t that tell them something?
It reminded me of General Patton’s prayer for the proper weather during world war II and the prayers at the battle of Lepanto.
And then I wonder: “Just WHO will they be directing these prayers to? ” Just the thought of it gave me the chills.

  16. Joseph-Mary says:

This made my jaw drop. We also finished our 40 Days for Life but soem continue to come to pray at the PP abortuary on the blood days of Friday and Saturday. Up to 40-50 babies are killed every week there. We did have a FEW pro-aborts come out a couple of times and they were the ones interviewed and written up in the paper and described as “young and vibrant”. Well if they keep killing their babies, there will none to follow them.

I remember reading Fr. Tom Euteneuer’s book on abortion and how some places even view it as ‘sacred’ or ‘sacramental’ and the mother can choose her setting for the killing of her child. It is nothing less than blood sacrifice to satan. And for Christians and pastors to support it is an incredible sin and travesty. But in our 40 Days for Life, we cannot get any mainline protestants and only a few of the independents to join us. It is sad what the crossless Christianity has become.

  18. Suburbanbanshee says:

“Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)

“They all lie in wait for blood, every one hunts his brother to death. The evil of their hands they call good.” (Micah 7:2-3)

  19. heway says:

This county is part of the diocese of Santa Rosa which has been plagued with problems since the 90’s, to my remembrance. That is not to say that there is not an active catholic community in the area. My sons went to Humboldt State Univ. and we were satisfied -but that was the first time either of them attended a public school. The bishop had to resign, the Neuman club priest had been accused and committed suicide. Knowing this priest personally, my husband, sons and I were deeply affected by his death. It is a beautiful area, the Lost Coast” but is populated by old ‘hippies’, green people, organic people, free lovers, marijuana growers and users. Pray for the true catholics of the county, they obviously need our help

  20. This is truly sick. I invite them to spend a day inside my head to see how it all works out in the end even after help and counseling and more help and love and mercy.

  21. Jim says:

The evil one perverting and mocking God. That is what this is.

Reminds one of the “Scourging at the pillar” scene from Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ”, where satan mocks the Lord by carrying a 40 year old “baby” – a perversion of the incarnation.

  22. Mariana says:

    Sick and evil!

  23. jeffreyquick says:

I doubt we’re going to see anyone standing for 40 days outside of Catholic churches or Right to Life offices. This movement will have the staying power of the “Coffee Party”. But if they pray these prayers, sincerely, it can’t help but be a good thing to open up the lines of communication with God on this subject. Even Episcopalians may find that God answers prayer.

As for “reproductive justice”, I charge that nonsense to Luigi Taparelli. There’s no such thing as social justice, because “society” is not a moral actor and can’t be just or injust. That one term has so fogged the discourse about justice that you can add any word in front of it, knowing that like “city chicken”, the word negates that which it modifies. Hey. I’m all in favor of “reproductive justice” too… which is to day, the just right of the reproduced to not be murdered.

  24. Laura98 says:

This sort of thing is why my parents and I left the United Methodist Church some 30 years ago… their approval of abortion. Up until the mid-80’s they had been against it. Then suddenly it was “okay.” Disgusting and evil.

It should be obvious to anyone with a heart and 1/2 a brain that abortion is just plain murder and downright evil – but apparently selfishness trumps life in today’s modern world. This listing of 40 days of Prayer FOR Abortion just goes above and beyond anything I thought I’d ever see. Our Lord must be very angry and Our Lady very sad. May the Lord have mercy on us…

  26. Sam Schmitt says:

This is old hat for PP. They had “outreach” to complicit clergy and prayer vigils long before Roe v. Wade.

  27. Random Friar says:

God will not be mocked, especially not with crimes that cry out to Heaven. May they be open to the grace of conversion, for the sake of their own immortal souls.

    Kyrie, eleison!

    Fr. Z.;
Why does God allow this? This fight, largly Catholic is now nearing 40 years with almost no progress. How much longer Lord, how much longer?

  29. Supertradmum says:

Satanic. Satan is the Father of Lies. He creates confusion and revels in deceit. I pity those who have given him their wills. They are on the road to perdition and obviously want to take as many down with them as possible. However, these same people probably do not believe in hell. And, they are creating hell on earth for those of us who revere life.

  30. onearmsteve says:

Reminds me of Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s story of the with saying when she declined airline food “I’m a witch & I’m fasting for abortions”.

  32. Johnno says:

You know who we need at a time like this?

    Elijah!

We need a standoff between him and God and the Jezebel’s priests and Baal. Each one call upon their own god to respond and we see which one is right. Recall that it was to Baal that the children were burned as sacrificial offerings.

Of course it’s interesting to note that once the priests of Baal lost stunningly and embarassingly, Elijah’s next task was to round them all up by the river and slit all their throaths before Israel. This is one of those things that God will punish severely for… One wonders how they can reconcile such contradictory values with the Christian faith, but these days anything goes, no matter how blatant the contradiction. They’re stark raving crazy mad. Actually I doubt they even believe in prayer. This is simply to openly mock Christians. It’s merely to reinforce evil pride rahter than make any actual efforts to call upon divine assistance, no matter how misguided.

Albuquerque Planned Parenthood has a program called “Pledge-A-Picket.” During 40 Days For Life people pledge a fixed amount to be paid to Planned Parenthood for each pro-life demonstrator present on a certain day. As the 40 Days progress, colorful ribbons with the names of the donors are tied to the fence that runs in front of the Planned Parenthood parking lot. On the specified day the Planned Parenthood staff count the number of pickets present and collect pledges based on the count. That day is Good Friday.

    I’m not making this up.

  34. Marie Teresa says:

    guess I see this differently.

Some terribly misguided people will pray for 40 days.

There is only one God. He’s the One who hears their prayers. In His goodness, wisdom, and mercy, perhaps He can use the fact they they pray to convert their hearts.

  35. CatholicCaliGirl says:

    Satanists.

  36. Rachel K says:

Surely they need to call it “Forty Days for Death” ? Catchy title, no?
