I know the person who got shot, and the wife, will definitely be keeping everyone in my prayers.
I will pray for them!
I know Fr. Richsteig, priest among the Mormons. I lived across the canyon (35 miles) from him. How strange indeed! I posted about him yesterday here.
oh that’s terrible. I will pray for all involved.
Will keep them in our prayers.
Prayers.
Prayers for Fr. Richsteig, his father and all his family.
There is no indication in the news article but I hope Father Richsteig immediately administered Extreme Unction to the poor man.
Thanks for the prayers and concerns everyone. The victim is going to be OK and the shooter is in custody. We will have Mass in the church this morning, with the rite of reparation, from the 1962 Rituale later in the week.
To answer Tradster. I gave him the Apostolic Pardon. I am embarrassed to say that I couldn’t anoint him as I forgot the words and couldn’t find the copy of the book I keep in the church. As soon as I was sure the people were safe, we finished the Mass. Remember, the Mass once begun must be finished.
Prayers to all involved. Fr. Erik, what a wonderful job you did amidst most trying circumstances.
What a blessing that the victim wasn’t killed!
I guess you’ll have to do one of those Masses of Reparation or whatever they’re called, to re-consecrate the church, as soon as the police are done.
Father Erik: You and your parishioners have been in my constant prayers. It sounds like they are a great group of parishioners–thank you for being such a good shepherd to them.
I am praying for everyone at St. James the Just and in a particular way for the victim and his wife.
