YOUR URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS

Please use the sharing buttons!  Thanks!

Registered or not, will you in your charity please take a moment look at the requests and to pray for the people about whom you read?

Continued from THESE.

I get many requests by email asking for prayers. Many requests are heart-achingly grave and urgent.

As long as my blog reaches so many readers in so many places, let’s give each other a hand.  We should support each other in works of mercy.

If you have some prayer requests, feel free to post them below. You have to be registered here to be able to post.

Lately, truth be known, I have received an awful lot of requests lately.

One of them I’ll share: Please ask St. Joseph to help a guy who really needs $8915.58 by Monday. Pray for that.  I find that when I am precise with St. Joseph (exactly what, and by when) he comes through for me.

Finally, I have a pressing personal petition.  Moreover, I start a period of traveling on Sunday.  I ask your prayers for my health and a safe first flight.

Please pray for my mom who was recently diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Please pray for my dad who has severe macular degeneration. Thank you! I will pray for all of you, too!

  2. Eric says:

A good and inspiring family needs prayers. This is what happened.

On Saturday 9/29/2013 there was a hunting accident with my uncle and cousin. Their tree stand broke and they fell out and my uncle was in pretty bad shape. My little cousin Ben who suffered a separated shoulder ran up to the house and told my aunt what happened. She then called my dad and he rushed over there and helped walk my uncle up to the house. Once the ambulance was called my Dad all of a sudden passed out for no apparent reason and fell backwards and hit his head on the concrete. He stopped breathing until my grandpa Leon performed CPR on him until the ambulance arrived. They then started working on my uncle and dad. My uncle Chris has 4 broken ribs and a punctured spleen but is healing perfect and he should be out by tomorrow. My dad has a large skull fracture and traumatic brain damage. He had an epidermal hematoma the size of a fist but they performed surgery and removed the hematoma. He is still unresponsive and wont wake up but it’s all gonna take time for his brain to heal. He needs love and support and prayers from everyone.

  3. Kensington says:

Please, my father needs prayers. He’s 81 and in bad shape. He’s got a chronic UTI, and he doesn’t seem to be responding to antibiotics anymore. I’m afraid he’s going to die soon if he can’t kick this thing.

  4. The Sicilian Woman says:

Kensington, I am sorry about your father. Went through similar with my mother. Jason, Eric, Fr. Z., and all who post after me, be assured of the inclusion of your intentions in my Rosary.

In your kindness please pray for two veterans. JC suffers from PTSD (post-traumatic stress syndrome) and TBI (traumatic brain injury), neither which, especially PTSD, from which anyone recovers completely. JC has been having an especially rough time lately, as has his devoted wife and children. Please pray for strength for all involved, and for his conditions to be managed better and to lessen in frequency and severity. GS suffers from at least one addiction for which I pray he recognizes as such and from which he heals.

As for me, I am going through great struggles and despair given different situations. If you would join the intentions of my novenas – Rosary, St. Joseph, St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Pope Pius X – to your prayers, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  5. StWinefride says:

I will pray for all of your intentions and Father Z’s.

Please pray for my father-in-law who is going through a difficult time. Thank you.

  6. Supertradmum says:

Please pray that I can regain my residency and gain citizenship in England. Thank you.

  7. Franklinwasright says:

Thank you for your ministery Fr. Z. You and your intentions, and the intentions of all here are in my prayers. I have recently discovered traditional Catholocism, though i am a cradle Catholic I am a revert, and I would like to ask for prayers for those in my life who are outside the church.

Please pray for my aunt who has been living in a homosexual lifestyle for over 30 years. Please pray for the rest of my family as they are complicit in this, as my cousins and my siblings and myself were raised to think of the situation as normal and morally acceptable. Please pray especially for my grandmother. My aunt was in the process of discerning a religious life when she left the convent and chose this lifestyle instead, it has been painful for my grandmother so please pray for her as well.

Please pray for my uncle who is divorced and remarried. I believe he would be able to have his first marriage annulled, but he is married to a Protestant who does not think highly of the church. Please pray for his reversion and her conversion.

Please pray for my siblings who have left the church or who remain in the church while rejecting church teaching. Please pray especially for my brother who has started practicing “Wicca.”

Please pray for my parents who are divorced. Pray for my mother to accept church teaching and be fully reconciled to the church through a good confession. Please pray for a full conversion for my father, who was agnostic but has become interested in Christianity through Protestantism.

Please pray for my in-laws who are anti-Catholic Protestants. Their beliefs come from ignorance, please pray that the Holy Spirit will open their hearts to the truth.

Mary Mother of God, pray for us!

  8. TimG says:

Please pray for my brother who has left the Faith and has now went thru a very bad divorce. Also please pray for the teenage son and daughter and their (oh what is the good word – depraved?)mother.

  9. LeighAnna says:

Please pray that my husband finds a new job soon. He’s been applying for months and nothing has worked out yet. My pay doesn’t come close to covering our bills, and even that will be gone in less than two months when I go on maternity leave. I am praying for all of your intentions as well.

  10. Vince K says:

Please pray for my sister/brother-in-law who are contemplating divorce that they will reconsider at least for the sake of their children and for my wife who doesn’t know what to say to her sister.

  11. LaxMom25 says:

This seems trivial in light of everything going on, but please pray for my son who today is having a Latin exam and he expects it to be quite difficult. He loves studying Latin but this year has been tough. He was able to serve The EF Mass at his school chapel before school this morning, a blessing for sure.

  13. Menagerie says:

Please pray for Kevin’s son. He is on life support, dying, and has suffered great pain all of his seven years.

  14. acricketchirps says:

For the repose of the soul of the priest who was instrumental in reverting me, married my late wife and I and baptised our three children. Thanks.

  15. StJude says:

I have prayed for all intentions here. God bless you all.

if you can, please pray for a personal intention of mine.

  16. Animadversor says:

I am that guy who needs $8915.58. The requests of the others here almost make me ashamed to ask for your prayers, so grave are the troubles I read. It was Father who encouraged me to make this request in this way. He is very bold with God, like a trusting son. If anyone would of their charity pray for me as well, I should be very grateful, as I face eviction if I do not come up with the money, something that I had never expected to face at fifty-four, and not alone either. It will be very bad for me if it happens. I confess that my faith is not yet so strong that I am not frightened. Please ask as well that I may have the strength to overcome my paralyzing fear.

LaxMom25, perhaps your son should ask St. Jerome for help with this. Besides the obvious appropriateness of asking the man who gave us the Vulgate, something tells me that Jerome, for some reason, may not get a lot of requests, so he probably has some time on his hands to pray a lot!

    Exoremus pro invicem!

  17. StWinefride says:

    Animadversor, praying for you!

I hope this may be of help, at desperate times I have received strength from praying repeatedly the beginning of Psalm 103:

Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His Holy Name!”

  18. cornelius74 says:

I will include the above mentioned intentions to my Rosary. Please pray with me for my beloved wife to join the flock of the Good Shepherd as well as our three wonderful kids. I have been baptized 8 years ago, already married, when we were just expecting our youngest one. My wife is a great person, who does not object at all to my faith, but she “has not found it yet” as she says. We talk about it quite often and I pray for her always, especially at a Mass. Thank you.

  19. Nan says:

Please pray for my archdiocese, which is in turmoil after a badly handled priest situation.

Please pray for my friends mother, Kathy, who is dying.

Please pray for my mother, who is in long-term care as she was paralyzed after a stroke. Please pray for her left side to continue healing as she is now able to move it a bit.

  20. Jack Hughes says:

Firstly I will pray for all your intentions

Secondly I ask for prayers as I’m not in the best of places at the moment

Thirdly isn’t there any way we called all perhaps help our Brother amidadversor? I don’t know the stats but I’m sure that he gets thousands of individual hits each day, if just over110 of us could spare $80 we could help him….

  21. Animadversor says:

Thanks, StWinefried, I shall pray for your father-in-law. Interesting that you should suggest what you did; doxologies have always resonated deeply with me since I was a child.

  22. Animadversor says:

Jack, I am speechless, or I was for a long while. I really had not expected….
I shall certainly pray for you; I know how it is to be in a bad place.

  23. StWinefride says:

Jack Hughes, excellent idea – I am happy to contribute towards Animadversor’s urgent need!

St Francis of Assisi, pray for us!

  24. Merelin says:

Please pray for my boyfriend and his family. His Grandmother is dying.
    St. Joseph, pray for us!

You are all in my prayers as well. Thank you for all of your support.

  25. Jack Hughes says:

its half 8 (am) here in England and I need to get off to work, I’ll be back at 6pm (12:00 central) is too much to hope that someone can get a means to funnel the money through by that time?

I know that sometimes transfers can take a little while but If animadivisor can tell his debtors on Monday that he has the money and only needs to wait for the transfer then hopefully he’ll be ok

  26. LaxMom25 says:

I received the devastating news that a young teen we know, after a year of suffering/treatment for bone cancer from which we thought he was healed, now has inoperable cancer and very dim hope for much more time here on earth. Please pray for him and his family. The mom, while trusting in God’s will and timing, has specifically asked that her son feel God’s presence, and endure no suffering.

  27. Penta says:

Please pray for a friend of mine, recently diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She’s been unable to sleep these past few nights, as the pain (already bad) gets worse at nights, and the usual pain medicines aren’t helping much. I’ve been doing what I can to sustain her spirits these past few weeks since she was diagnosed, but my ability to help is limited, given her being in TX and me in NJ. I’m someone who, to be honest, prays despite wondering if God even listens to my prayers (no evidence yet that he does, but I keep trying), but right now? My distress at seeing a friend in desperate pain outweighs my doubts. If there’s even a God, I hope he might lighten my friend’s pain.

  29. Penta says:

Grr, why did that show up twice…?

  30. Animadversor says:

Jack, it’s early Tuesday morning I have to have the money in court. I was allowing a day for the technicalities. I wish there were a way that we could get in touch.

  31. Animadversor says:

Jack, I can be reached at animadversor@mailchute.info . Please not that it ends .info, not .com.

  32. Palladio says:

I have prayed for all your intentions.

I thank you for yours from a previous request. Deo gratias, the biopsy showed no malignancy in my wife.

Please also pray for the nurses and doctors, hers, and everyone’s, that they may be filled with all the virtues necessary to true healers.

  33. VexillaRegis says:

Dear Sicilian Woman, I’m so sorry. Of course I will pray for you!

  34. Animadversor says:

Thanks so much, everyone, for your prayers and expressions of concern. I am with my lawyer now. As he has explained it, although I need the sum that Father mentioned to fix things, I can get some breathing room for a payment of $1919.25 to my landlord. Please forgive me for my boldness, but since Jack had been kind enough to undertake this effort on my behalf, I think I ought to keep people informed of any developments. Thanks again for everything. Please pray to St. Joseph for me. I am so scared and even praying is weirdly hard right now.

  35. DebraH says:

I have six kids and my youngest who is now ten, has a rare inherited disorder that progressively destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal chord. It’s called GM I gangliosidosis (juvenile onset) and he was diagnosed with it a year and a half ago. Prior to that, we thought he was autistic – but we weren’t so lucky. GM I gangliosidosis is very rare, incurable and eventually fatal. We get to watch this beautiful boy slowly go downhill as my other children flourish.
Every morning I wake up and I realize – no – this isn’t a bad dream. This really is my life now. I have a son who is losing control of his bodily functions, will soon no longer be able to attend school, will soon be confined to a wheelchair….and worse.
I would appreciate your prayers to help me and my family get through this.
    Thanks.

  36. Animadversor says:

And Jack, I hope you are moving towards a better place. Tell me.

  37. pannw says:

@DebraH, I will pray for you and your family, for your strength and courage to accept God’s will. I am asking Blessed Father Seelos, who loved teaching the Faith to children, to pray for a miracle for your son, and if it is God’s will, it will be the miracle needed for his canonization. Today is the anniversary of Blessed Father Seelos’ death and tomorrow, the 5th is his feast day.

@LaxMom25, my priest told us about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati last Sunday. He is a wonderful patron for youth, especially young men. I have asked for his intercession for a miracle for your friend’s son, and if it is God’s will, it will be the one Blessed Pier Giorgio needs to become a saint.

I’m praying for all who have asked. I ask for your prayers for safe travel for my family tomorrow through Friday.

@Jack and Animadversor, I don’t remember what the site was, but Fr. Z. had a link to help support a single mother a few weeks ago. It is a site for people to set up fundraising. I wish I could remember what it is, but if Fr. Z. or someone can let us know, perhaps a fund could be set up on it, where we can send the contributions that way. I’m going on a trip tomorrow morning, so I’m little help, but I remembered that fundraising and thought it might work.

    @Palladio, yes, Deo gratias!

  38. mamajen says:

Please pray for a local family who lost their 4-year-old little girl after she fell out a window on Wednesday evening.

  39. Animadversor says:

pannw, there are several, such as youcaring.com and Crowdrise, and no doubt others. But I’d feel totally awkward about establishing this for myself, especially considering the other troubles mentioned by commenters that dwarf my own. I do not mean I’d refuse. I’m not really in a position to do so since I’ve nowhere else to turn, but I hope you can understand that I just cannot set up something like that myself.

  40. sciencemom says:

Please pray for my parents who have moved in with us because of being unable to live independently due to ill health. My father has an aortic aneurysm that has grown significantly and is now large enough that surgery may be advisable (risky). He also is headed toward lung and kidney failure. My mother’s epilepsy (grand mal) is as yet not under control. She has no warning and just falls without any ability to control or cushion the fall. She has injured herself almost every time.

Please also pray for our family for the graces we need at this stressful time.

    Praying for all intentions here.

  41. Montenegro says:

Animadversor do you have a paypal account? That may be the easiest way for people to donate. God bless.

  42. Animadversor says:

Montenegro, I do. If anyone wishes to find out how to help that way, they can email me at animadversor@mailchute.info—please note that it ends .info, not .com. Thank-you.

  43. mamajen says:

For a friend who is trying for another baby after losing her second child at three days old. God bless her for her courage and openness to God’s plan.

  44. mamajen says:

    Animadversor,

I asked St. Joseph to help you get the money you need. Best wishes and God bless. I hope you can rest easy soon.

  45. I will add your intentions to my rosary. Today is Our Lady of the Holy Rosary – she will intercede for us!

  46. Heather F says:

Please continue to pray for Fr Michael “Catfish” Mireau of Edmonton, Canada as he recovers from surgery to treat his cancer. He is now out of the hospital but still has a long road ahead of him.

  47. Animadversor says:

    mamajen, thank-you, thank-you very much.

  48. Mojoron says:

Deacon Johnson needs our prayers. He has had two cancers over the past four years and is not doing well as of this writing. Deacon was a Diocesan Tribunal Counselor for our parish and was instrumental in getting six families back into the church. His wife is one swell person and assisted in the Tribunal with Deacon Johnson.

  49. kelleyb says:

Please pray for my sister. She is dying. Her husband finally made her go to a doctor yesterday. Today she is in hospital in great pain, she has weeks to live.
