Benedict XVI: Make The Church Credible Again!

From Benedict XVI’s latest essay:

The extent and gravity of the reported incidents has deeply distressed both priests as well as laity, and has driven more than a few to call into question the very Faith of the Church. It was necessary to send out a strong message and seek out a new beginning, so to make the Church again truly credible as a light among peoples and as a force in service against the powers of destruction.

In other words…

Make The Church Credible Again!

The powers of destruction are discussed in his essay.  They are, as you might anticipate, long-standing themes, tropes of Ratzingeriana, including the Three Enemies of the Soul as well as the Dictatorship of Relativism.

I found it a timorous piece. He blames the idea that infallibility applies to faith but not morals, [NO! That’s NOT what he wrote. Read more carefully.] only to say that there could be something in this point of view. He blames conciliarism but says nothing about the flaws of the council itself. He refers to homosexuality in seminars without saying why this is a bad thing. He expounds at length on the “Great Accuser”, without saying why Pope Francis ‘ use of this term is flawed. He praises Pope Francis without mentioning what he has done that is so praiseworthy.

[Had he written what YOU wanted him to write, it would never have gotten past the Secretary of State and Francis. However, in what he did say are the seeds of what you think is lacking – to the point that even you mention it.]

    Why was B16 forced out?

Maybe there can be some baseball caps to help this catch on. Then again, M[E]CCA may not be a winning acronym for your cause.
