ASK FATHER: Cursed by a witch through a dating site. Now really bad things are happening.

From a reader…

QUAERITUR:

Hi Father,

Here is a hard one, and a subject you would probably rather avoid.  But I truly need to talk to someone and I hope you can offer a few words of advice.

What happened was that I was using an international dating site and chatting with women around the world, just kind of fun and harmless.  A middle aged black women from Sudan messaged me and I responded. We chatted just a few seconds amiably and she asked if I had a picture.  Well, stupidly, I sent her a picture of myself and my Golden Retriever. She immediately disconnected from the website. Then a couple days later reappeared there and said “Good Evening. I ran out of airtime.”  However that was not the case.

I was now getting red splotches on my arms and hands and just a day after this my back gave out and I have had to begin using a cane to get around. Several times in my house my nose started bleeding spontaneously.  I have had a number of very strange uncanny experiences right in my own home (I can send you physical evidence of some of this by email). Worst of all, I am no longer able to sleep at night. I have to take Ambien or there is not one minute of sleep, night after night. Ambien can only be taken short-term.

This will gradually wear me down and I am frankly scared. If this goes on indefinitely my health will collapse. The idea that a woman in Sudan, a witch presumably, can or would do this to an American on the other side of the world for no obvious reason is bizarre I know. But it has happened to me and I don’t know what to do. I need some advice badly.

Many thanks for any insights you may be able to provide.

An “international dating site”.  What could go wrong?

Firstly, check in with your doctor.

I took this seriously and consulted an highly experienced exorcist.

His advice.

1. Order this book: HERE

Say the pertinent prayers for your case – there are many there. Do a severance of soul ties.  “In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I (state his name) renounce and reject all the legitimate soul ties all illegitimate soul ties with the Sudanese witch. Everything I gave her, I take back. Everything she gave me, I return to her. In the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.” (THREE TIMES).

2. Contact the diocese and ask to meet with the diocesan exorcist. If the diocese refuses to help, seek to seek a local priest who is willing to do prayers of deliverance and minor exorcisms, using this book: HERE

3. If they all refuse to help contact the Society of the Most Sorrowful Mother: https://dolorans.org

I have often worried about the times we are living in and the evil one prowling around devouring souls.
I have spoken to you of our not having Mass or Sacraments for the past 16 months or so, and that problem continues. As a result we are LOST TO THE WOLVES DOWN HERE!

It seems to my wife and I that we are all open to evil and the influences of the devil today more than in our lives. We have talked about the book Fr. Elijah and the ARK in that book or the safe place faithful Catholics could go to before the end. But we need CATHOLIC TOOLS.

There are some very interesting talks Fr Wolfe has given on this very topic.
We have a very good priest friend back in SC who is an Exorcist and he sent us an end of times battle chest for our home filled with blessed candles, salt and holy water as well as a wonderful book:
    “Deliverance Prayers”
Before our nightly rosary we always say the Sealing Prayer of Protection as a family and I as the father of the house say the Prayer of Command.
I really recommend this book! Sensus Traditions Press.
Father Z is this crazy to have our actual battle kit ready?

Remember, we open ourselves to the influence of the demonic. So always make sure, as Fr Z always reminds us, to go to confession! Staying in a state of grace and close to Our Lord is the best protection against the demonic.

For anyone that may suspect they are dealing with the demonic, be ready for the diocese to have you talk to a doctor and/or psychiatrist as well as the exorcist. In the reader’s case here, I imagine the diocese would want a doctor to rule out any medical issues. I am by no means any kind of expert, but every exorcist I’ve heard says that’s a standard part of the process.

I’d like to recommend St Michael Center for Spiritual Renewal’s app. It has quite a bit of deliverance prayers that are in the book you recommended by Fr. Ripperger. It’s good to have it handy on your phone or tablet.

Also, that story is startling. I hope he goes to confession soon because that’s one of the best things he can do, if he’s physically able.

In addition to the advice of Fr Z, I would recommend to also pray the rosary several times a day if necessary (in my experience in the past this is necessary). There was a time in the past when several months I barely slept each night and at some point I suspect this is not an ordinary insomnia. I started praying the rosary while lying in my bed at night. Since sleep does not come by I do pray the rosary 4 – 5 times and even more such that for one I night I prayed all the mysteries – joyful, luminous, sorrowful and glorious and repeat back to joyful mysteries and start over again. For each and every decade I say these words “Lord have mercy on me, please send you hosts of angels upon me to help my guardian angel in driving out all demons and evils that are afflicting me and cast these demons and evils down to hell for all eternity so that your most Holy Will will rest upon me and so that your Divine Sovereignty will reign over me. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.”

My experience is that when I started praying the rosary with that specific invocation for each decade, the intensity of the attacks on me increased and I take that to mean it is effective because the forces of darkness is increasing their attacks. But I never back down and the more intense the attacks are the more intense I pray the rosary with that invocation. Eventually by the mercy of God I was delivered and I started to have sound sleep at night so much so that I am able to gain back restful and refreshing nightful sleep.

Be patient and trust constantly in God’s Divine Providence. Be stout hearted and trust in God. If God is with us, who can be against us?

  6. May I humbly suggest that my own book would be of benefit here as well –
Slaying Dragons: What Exorcists See & What We Should Know

This provides a foundational understanding of the capabilities of the diabolic and the ability for God, through His Church, to block and remove the power of evil. Highly practical information.

    [A good book.]

I have been thinking about the internet and social media alot lately. Be careful, It is more dangerous than we imagine.

  8. Elizabeth D says:

I do not understand based on what this individual wrote why he blamed the Sudanese woman, or thought it was withcraft. Only recently I read in an academic book by a faithful (not leftist) religious Sister Prudence Allen about the hundreds of thousands of people (overwhelmingly women) put to death as witches in Europe on similarly thin claims that the women were in league with the devil. The anti-withcraft manual used by both Catholics and protestants drew on misogynistic satires against women but with terribly serious consequences. What assumptions could have led to this dramatic and surprising accusation against the dating website acquaintance being a malicious witch?

I say that flirting or dating is not to be done for fun. It’s not a game. Date if you are actually free to marry and seeking a spouse. I also think it’s fine and good to use that book by Fr Ripperger, which I personally own and have used myself.

But I also say that it is a slander against this random Sudanese woman to accuse her of witchcraft. Was something left out of this account that would make it seem less like a nonsequitor? Just because she’s anonymous to us does not mean this is okay. I am confused that this made it onto a priest’s blog.

[Because this stuff is real. And if you don’t like it here, read somewhere else.]

  9. Elizabeth D says:

Sorry, the numbers of “witch” executions were in the mid tens of thousands not hundreds of thousands. [Not even that. Not near.] Large numbers. Who now wants to suggest they were witches even if you think deliverance prayers and not a bonfire is the correct response?

  10. Arturo says:

    Elizabeth D,

Witches are real. Whether you believe in it or not is immaterial. Witchcraft is real whether you accept or reject that is statement, that is your problem. But I expect that you will not project your problem on others. That is just basic decency.

While it is likely the gentleman’s condition can be explained naturally, reading the narration of the gentlemen, I am convinced that it is likely that he was a victim of curse by a witch. If you choose to believe on the former, again that is you.

When hearing about witches, it never occurred to me to bother about the sex of the person engaging in witchcraft. I don’t look at it that way. Rather I look at it as someone, an individual person, who engages in demonic activity. So if you read the talk about acknowledging the reality of witchcraft activities as “misogynistic”, then you have a bias problem that warps your view on this subject.

And besides no one who commented here is suggesting stoning a witch to death or setting them on fire. It is not the focus of the comments, not even secondary. The focus of the comments here is on the person who is in dire situation and who needs our help. The focus is to give help and spiritual assistance. Whether he is cursed or not, the spiritual assistance will always be beneficial for him.

That being said, may you say a rosary for him and another one for the Sudanese woman?

May the peace of Christ dwell upon you!

  12. TWF says:

I’m not sure why everyone is jumping on Elizabeth D. I didn’t see anything in her post that suggests she doesn’t believe witchcraft is real and a danger (she cites Fr. Ripperger in her post!)…just that a) many women have been falsely accused historically and b) Father’s original post leaves lots of questions. He communicates with a woman…she doesn’t mention witchcraft, she doesn’t say anything malicious, but because he gets sick after he communicates with her, she must be a witch?
Its very real and its very dangerous…but I get what Elizabeth was saying.

  13. Fr. Kelly says:

    To Elizabeth D and TWF:

It might be good to calm down a little. Nothing in the original post suggested the burning of women as witches or even any misogyny.

The original plea for help mentions a request for and gift of a photo on an international dating site, followed by an immediate and unexplained (at least to him) hangup. While these things could be innocent, he has come to the point of worrying that a curse may be involved. And Fr. Z’s point is, there may indeed be a curse involved. The circumstances he mentions are suspicious in themselves, and the fact that Fr. Z did not post more does not mean that there may not be more to this story. These are not things to be taken lightly or to ignore and hope it will go away. Nor are they matters to speak about loosely any more than necessary.

I suspect that the inclusion of this post in the blog is to serve as a warning and a reminder to us that we are engaged in spiritual warfare all the time — at least on the receiving end — and we should arm ourselves at least to act in our own defense.
For all we know, he may have given more direct help to him in a more private manner.

Notice that Fr. Z’s first suggestion is for him to see a doctor. and then he points him to where he may find help in spiritual warfare.

Our host has been prudent in his comments and we should not try o make more of what he is saying than he expresses.

  14. Suburbanbanshee says:

Not a doctor, nor do I cosplay one on the Internet… but a lot of these symptoms commonly tie together with stress. Stress causes hives and welts. Stress causes back and muscle spasms and joint pain. Stress causes nosebleeds. Stress causes insomnia. And heck, stress can cause uncanny occurrences, if you pay attention to lots of testimony.

Something bad can be happening in a preternatural way, or everything happening be natural, or a little of both — and yet sometimes you can also fight unknown occurrences on a natural level, as well as by appealing to God (Who knows best how to treat all these problems!) and our friends, the saints.

Basically… pray, but also try to calm down, and help your body calm down. If you fight the stress with calm trust in God, then your body will follow your lead. Food and water, warm showers, vitamins and minerals. Vitamin K fights stress, as well as promoting good stuff like calcium use; and it’s in lots of tasty foods like cream, meat, cheese, eggs, and leafy greens.

And demons really really hate calm trust in God, so you can really stick it to ’em.

  15. Jones says:

International dating site? Chatting with women for fun? If you are not dating for marriage there doesn’t seem to be any reason to be on that type of site.

I am glad this topic was brought up, especially since it’s so common in society now. We know alot of people are doing way worse on line and opening themselves up to demonic attack.
