The Novus Ordo is the unique expression?

The oppressors of the faithful who desire the Vetus Ordo, on the obviously pure fantasy about a “unique expression” of the Roman Rite which was mandated by Vatican II are essentially hypocrites.

The Novus Ordo is the unique expression?

Try this on for size. You even have to speak German to sense what is wrong with this.

Ha, I loaded it up, and it was a video with the Stabat Mater in a tone I had never heard before. I thought to myself, “well this isn’t too bad.”

  2. Brian64 says:

I speak no German, but I spot a few things: no altar, just a work table; no altar cloth; no crucifix; what appears to be a plastic chalice; altar girls; one priest proudly displaying his “true colors” (accompanying, for sure); and, most egregious, what appear to be lay people “helping” or even leading the Consecration. But then, I’m quite rigid, and have a nostalgic preference for the Latin Mass, which I attended for the first time at 52 years of age.

  3. Ivan says:

But hey! As long as they call it the mass with the prefix “catholic”, we all are pretty good, aren’t we?
Even better so, where everybody is so nicely a part of that precious inclusiveness.

This should attract hard working men to the faith. Pipe fitters, welders, truck drivers, firefighters, police can’t wait for their fill of Sunday effeminacy. I would rather spend a week in solitary confinement. St.Johns Newfoundland used to have thousands at Sunday Mass, the highschool sang polyphony at the basilica and there were hundreds of altar boys. They then returned for vespers and walked to the Basilica during tge harshest winters on the planet. Novus Ordo arrives and now 50 years later the basilica was sold to a private group because the diocese can’t afford to keep it. The Novus Ordo destroyed the Catholic faith in Canada. I’ve met the former Mass goers on worksites, they told me on a few occasions that they lost their faith when the Mass changed. One old fella told me it went from Old time Religion that we thought true, to a gay party, so I left.

    My heart hurts.

How did that priest lose his way? Or was he never on the right road to begin with?

Why do so many not want to experience the beautiful? And rather double down on the ugly?

  6. L. says:

I’d say that, unfortunately, it’s not unique enough.

  7. Irish Timothy says:

I love the removal of the shoes. Soooooooooooooooo grooooovy man!!!!!

  8. Archlaic says:

“I think it a great cheek of the Germans to try and teach the rest of the world anything about religion. They should be in perpetual sackcloth and ashes for all their enormities from Luther to Hitler.” – Evelyn Waugh (1963)

“Germany is the land of the Reformation, of schism, of secularization, of atheist philosophy, of the atheistic totalitarian systems of communism and national socialism. In the last 500 years not much good has come out of Germany.” – Martin Mosebach (Aug 2022)

“Those burghers ought to have stuck to making Cuckoo Clocks” – The Archlaic (today)

  9. AA Cunningham says:

    More protestants masquerading as Catholics.

  10. Fr. Reader says:

And among other things, no images.

At least they made sure the ladies have short hair, so they look more manly…

  11. Dan says:

I just threw up in my mouth.

  12. Charles E Flynn says:

“MADE IN GERMANY” used to be a sign of quality.

  13. Kathleen10 says:

Who’s the chick. I couldn’t get past five seconds. These people are a joke. I don’t know who wants this, perhaps somebody does, but those people are going to be gone relatively soon. Lame, empty, and progressive, is the kiss of death, on anything, TV shows, books, films, anything. Nobody is interested, in any language, it’s boring and dumb.
Tomorrow is the Fifth First Saturday. It’s better to just focus on staying Catholic and ignoring the hippie church of man. Far better to drive some distance once or twice a month to get the TLM. Pray the rosary every day. We need to invite as many people as possible to the TLM, wherever it is. People are hungry for God. People are committing suicide in alarming numbers today, and there’s nothing in the culture to lead them to God. We might, with an invitation.

  14. B says:

Yes this is pretty much a normal thing in the German speaking lands. I encounter this all the time. Good Masses are as rare as diamonds.

  15. Sue in soCal says:

Is this Mass valid? Is the consecration valid? Did the consecration happen?

  16. Rod Halvorsen says:

I wonder what this fellow thinks?

  17. Not says:

When Pope Benedict declared that Priest say the Novus Ordo according to the original text, a big part of that was the consecration. Priest invalidated the Mystery of Faith by offering it for ALL instead of Many. Only for Catholics! Father Malachi Martin under orders from John Paul II was ordered to correct it with the US Bishops. He quoted, When Jesus said, many are going to hell, he didn’t mean all were going, and If if I tell all of you to stand up, I don’t mean many. Their response was ,it say all when we say it means all.

  18. Grant M says:

“In the last 500 years not much good has come out of Germany.”

Well, at least there’s music (Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms etc) and science (Clausius, Fraunhofer, Hertz, Planck, Einstein and Heisenberg etc) where German contributions are unparalleled. Philosophy, theology, liturgy and politics clearly need work. At least there’s Papa Ratzinger who speaks and writes more clearly, concisely and elegantly than some Popes I could mention.

  19. OzReader says:

The whole business of making Masses “more appealing” for youth with glitz and glamour, woeful modern “hymns” (often almost perfect ripoffs of some doof-doof modern track) is a completely laughable effort. Why? Because youth (except those Catholics or Protestants absorbed with their own self-importance of promoting this claptrap) see right through the effort for the lame duck it is.

In my later high school years (not all that long ago), the local protestant congregations were ALL mocked for how lame they were, usually with phrases like “that’s gay”. Low-budget films like “God’s Not Dead” that such congregations swoon over only compound the issue. No-one in high school wants to be associated with such a tepid portrayal of Christianity!

Where I’ve invited friends to Mass – just a decent NO without too much “innovation” or dreadful hymns, the response has been curiosity, if not deeper soul-searching. I think concrete theology is important; witness how successful the most conservative and progressive elements in society both muster very passionate disciples with their unwavering beliefs.

  20. matt from az says:

This video has me so enraged I can’t sleep.
The level of anger I feel makes me worry about myself and my sanity. How those priests and deacon can get away with this is beyond comprehension.

Where are our modern day Maccabees to purge the Temple of this pagan filth? Come, Lord Jesus!

12 Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?
3 How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
4 Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:
5 Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:
6 But I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.

  21. mweidlick says:

Hey, at least they use bells at the Elevation. :-) (I’ve see an electric door chime used.)

  22. Jacques-Antoine Fierz says:

I am very ashamed, but that mass was celebrated in Switzerland for the retirement of Mrs Schmid, the pastoral assistent of the parish of St. Martin in Illnau-Effretikon (Canton Zürich/CH). The bishop has opened a canonical investigation about the liturgical abuses seen during this celebration (if you can read german, french or Italian https://www.kath.ch/newsd/bischof-bonnemain-eroeffnet-kanonische-voruntersuchung-gegen-monika-schmid/ ). The catholics of the Swiss german part of Switzerland has turned protestant but want to stay in the Church because the money.
    Sorry for my poor english.
