A note on the Olympic’s most important sport

I object to NBC.  And I object to certain aspects of their coverage of the Olympics.  I have also been on the road.  And so I haven’t been able to watch much of the only sport at the Olympics that really counts…

… CURLING.

Today, however, I found a stream that let’s me watch British coverage online.  And so I am beginning, after a long drought, to slake my Curling coverage thirst.

UPDATE:

COOL HATS

The Cube, I think its called.

I object to NBC as well. The homosexual propaganda is a daily affair on The Today Show.

I am not a fan of the Olympics, let alone curling. I just don’t care.

[What a comment. Gee, thanks for that.]

Curling is so hot they have to play it on ice!

  4. Alas, I cannot watch it. I have none of the channels and the temporary online viewing only lasted 30 minutes.

What I need is a username and password for one of the TV/cable/satellite services that allows you to watch the stream.

    GRRRRRRRR

    grrrrrr

When you are Pope, you will be able to watch in person. They may even give you a broom, in honor of your having swept out the corruption.

Don’t watch much regular TV, until last week when I watched a little Olympics I hadn’t watched since the last game of the 2013 World Series and after that watching my beloved Red Sox go from laughing stock the prior year to “world” champions, what sporting event can top that? Wouldn’t mind seeing curling, but every tiume I turn it on it seems to be one of the 26 flavors of skiing or biathlon or whatever.

Fr. Z., can you get the app ZDF Mediathek or visit this resource directly on the internet? They have four free livestreams plus lots of videos on demand from the olympics, curling included. Just use the search box.

I have often turned to First Row Sports, a European based site for my international tennis needs. Beware an inordinate number of popups and ads, but it should have curling somewhere.

Don’t tell Her Majesty, but you can watch the BBC online outside of .uk through proxy servers: http://lifehacker.com/5504681/how-to-access-the-bbc-iplayer-and-tv-like-doctor-who-from-outside-the-uk

Mamajen, I heard the David Attenborough and it was amusing. However I always cringe when he appears as he is a well-known lover of animals but hater of the human species. He is a consistent and vocal promoter of severe population control:
“We are a plague on the Earth.” (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/9815862/Humans-are-plague-on-Earth-Attenborough.html)
See also Population Matters, a “charity” of which he is patron which promotes the usual message of poor people keeping their own numbers down so that wealthy first world inhabitants can keep up their plush lifestyles. You get the picture….

I do not know if this is equally accessible everywhere, but I have run into what seems simple. clear live coverage – including of curling – via the Dutch news service:

    nos.nl/os2014/

The times listed for upcoming events are Central European – like the curling coming up “this afternoon” (in a few minutes!)

I have not yet tried to see what-all they have as archive under ” Video’s” .

By the way, I ran into an enjoyable item excerpted from ” How It’s Made” for curling stones, posted on YouTube.

Knowing too little of this delightful sport, I get the impression that the Wikipedia has a (surprisingly?) good main article.
