ACTION ITEM! Benedictines of Mary – new music CD for Lent

Can you believe that this coming Sunday is Septuagesima already?

Many of you have enjoyed the chart-topping music CDs from the Benedictine nuns in Missouri, the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles.  They have topped the charts for weeks with their music discs.  I have featured them often here.  Their last disc of music for Advent was great.

Help the Sisters! Click now!

Now they have a disc of music for Lent! Lent at Ephesus.  If you search around, there are very few CDs with Lent-appropriate music.  This disc fits a niche.

The disc is now available for $16.78.  UK dwellers can get it HERE.

Some samples from the disc… which is available for MP3 download.

I hope many of you order the disc right away.  Help their sales.  Perhaps get more than one, and give them as gifts.

Here is a short video about the sisters and what they are up to.

UPDATE:

On 11 Feb NPR did a morning show on the sisters:

I enjoyed the digital files of Advent music that I learned about here and elsewhere and loaded into playlists on my Amazon Cloud Player. Can anyone suggest a digital playlist for Lent?

  2. Priam1184 says:

Father can you put up another post to remind us on the date that the CD becomes available for purchase?

[In these USA it is available for purchase now. Pre-order. Buy it now and you will receive it when it is released. When I have pre-ordered through amazon, I have usually gotten what I ordered on the day of the release. They do a good job with this.]

  3. Joseph-Mary says:

WOW! I can’t wait to share this information with our group of 29 that are involved with the 33 Days to Morning Glory parish program. We studied St. Louis Marie de Montfort this week (and this CD is from “deMontfort music”) and we make our consecration on February 11th, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the date of the release of the CD.

  4. Priam1184 says:

Or I could just read the first lines of this blog post to find out how to pre order. Thanks Father and never mind.

  5. Netmilsmom says:

    I would pre-order but I need digital music. I don’t have a CD player.

[You could rip it to your computer.]

  6. Ann Roth says:

    Father,

Thanks for the heads up! I just placed my order. Their other CDs are fantastic. I listen to the “Angels ..” one a lot. Keeps me focused and at peace/prayer no matter what else I am doing like driving, chores, etc.

  7. Kerry says:

Wonderful music! (And how about those chicken tractors? Very nice with metal roofing, wire and easily portable. )

  8. Robert of Rome says:

Thanks for posting about this, Father. I hadn’t known of this monastery or their music. What a consolation for the soul!

  9. Sue says:

I ordered via your site, one for me and one for our priest. He plays their music quietly during confession time, in the church, since we don’t have a soundproof confessional. We have CCD on Wednesday nights and about every five or six weeks he takes one of those nights to hear the elementary kids’ confessions and then the next week, the high school confessions. When else would they be exposed to such music…or go to confession? Also emailed a link to your earlier post on the Sisters to all the ladies of our Altar Society and one of the husbands stopped me after Mass to say how much he enjoyed watching that video of the Sisters. We’re blessed that our priest offers confession before every single Mass, even daily. God bless you, Father Z.

    Lovely.

  11. Netmilsmom says:

I preordered. Hopefully my 14 year old can get it off the CD for me.

This morning NPR broadcast an interview with the prioress, Mother Cecilia. Lovely!

  14. lisebaur says:

The 6th graders last year were mesmerized when I played this during class. I can not wait to play the Lenten CD on Sunday mornings as I welcome the CCD students into the class room… It will ring through the halls. Thank you, Fr. Z, for the post.

  15. Laura R. says:

I ordered mine last night. Thanks for the reminder!

  16. eiggam says:

I just downloaded the music from iTunes.

  17. Allan S. says:

Digital download available via the iStore for Apple devices (I bought a digital copy for about ten bucks US)

  18. Netmilsmom says:

It’s beautiful and they also loaded it into my Cloud Player. I was listening as the ladies competed in the Slopestyle in Sochi. It’s was surreal.
It was like they were skiing in Heaven!

  19. lucy says:

We bought three copies! Can’t wait to get it! One for us, and two are gifts.
