“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

Fr. Z: I regret to tell you that your blog still will not load using the default browser on my Blackberry Curve.
It starts to load but seems to time out. This is the error message I get:
“Uncaught exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError”
Then, after I click “okay” I get:
“The page your requested could not be loaded; it is too large for the device.”
BUT, I am happy to say that it works okay on the above mentioned Blackberry using Opera mini as the browser. However, I don’t think the mobile theme is loading; I think it’s just Opera mini shrinking down the regular site, complete with the photo collage at the top of the page and the little pictures by the name of the commenter. All the side bar materials load at the bottom. Some of the images (such as your awards at the bottom) are just blank rectangles but it looks like everything on the main site also is on the mobile site. Is there something that needs to be turned on so that the mobile version loads on mobile devices instead of the regular blog? The mobile version you were using a few weeks ago worked fine using either browser.
Is there something I need to do to direct my browser to to the mobile version?
I know nothing about web development. I can’t offer any suggestions, only my prayers.
It’s working great on my iPhone, and I just sent you a small contribution. Thanks for all your efforts!
Works great on my iphone. Like it!
Works fast and is attractive on my Galaxy S phone.
It’s working okay on LG Droid.
A bit strident in the high-contrast, large font presentation. Personally, I think what you had up this morning and the last several days worked better.
For some reason, this latest configuration displays noticeably larger text than the previous configuration, without the phone browser settings having been changed. Changing the phone browser text display size setting to reduce the size of text for the WDTPRS mobile configuration results in other sites having miniscule text.
The style of having just the article title – no two-paragraph leader, seemed to work better, too.
Father:
The mobile theme is working great on iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 – in fact it’s the best mobile version I have ever seen for your blog. I especially like the stand at the ready list button on top right that brings you to menu, categories, tags, log-in and search (which I tested and works fast and well). The ability to see the first paragraph of the post is excellent, and scrolling is very responsive.
My AT&T BB Bold’s browser doesn’t pickup the mobile theme, but it also looks good. The title banner is magnificent and very clear.
Thanks again,
Ed Casey
No good for me… The one you used… Two attempts ago? Was extremely fast, slick and clean. I’ve been trying to load the current one on my LG Versa for about… twelve minutes now. Still not even 1/4 loaded.
Doesn’t work very well on my blackberry curve. After a long while of waiting it loads up a shrunken version of a regular webpage that is a much bigger file size than a mobile page. The mobile theme you’ve had for a few weeks now also didn’t work very well for my blackberry, but better than this. Whatever you used when you first revamped things worked great.
Hated the first revamp. The previous one was fantastic. The current one is wonderful as well. I beg you, for your own sanity, enough of the changes! It looks beautiful and you’ll never please everyone. Btw, using iPhone 4 here. No issues. Keep up the great work good Father.
P. S. Contribution headed your way in two shakes.
Looks great on my iPod Touch…
I appreciate your work in this area, and will donate some in a couple of days when I can afford it.
As for the app – it looked neat originally, but when I read the comments on my 3g Iphone, it wanted me to log-in and the login screen was completely blank. I had to exit, but when I got in again, your messages were missing. I was able to find another place on the app to login though. I think it’s because of the memory limitations on my 3g (some other apps have problems too especially in ios 4.x).
I can always look at it the old way, though, through the browser. I like the current layout. A few days ago there was a layout which cut-off the titles (not sure when that was) – and that situation was less than ideal.
Again, appreciate the work. Thanks. I’ll manage however you do it.
It may look lovely on an iphone, but doesn’t work on my regular Nokia phone, although it worked fine using the setup you had this afternoon. It took 15 minutes to load, after several error messages I had to bypass, and then just showed a half cutoff date below a black box with some non-functioning navigation options in it.
Is this a special application for mobile phones? Your regular web site works fine on my Pre.
Like tzard above, I got the blank screen when I tried signing on after connection via the app (regular connection allowed me to do this). In any case, I liked the theme before this one better (not a complaint–just an observation).

(who loves your blog no matter what format you put it in!)
I am also getting the “Handler can not be removed” error, whatever that means.
Am sorry to report that this version does not improve upon the previous one.
I can navigate it anyway . . . seems like it will take way to much work to make it perfect for everyone.
I can open it on my Nokia E51 but it’s a bit difficult to navigate around (sort of “jumpy”, if that describes it) as compared to the version previous to the last. Can’t open the comments at all – it was the same with the last version. Nevertheless, your work is much appreciated, Father, and donation on the way.
Still useless on my Motorola Q phone. I get a “Scripting alert”:
What does show up after the message is ugly and unreadable. IMO any use of frames will hamper its use with very small screens. Until the Great Blog Renewal, the mobile phone version was very nice and simple on my phone.
It works great on my iPhone.. Having said that, I think this mobile version seems to be oriented towered iphone/iPad users rather than BB users but as I said earlier, works really well for me.
Works great on my Droid. Seems to be the best version you’ve had yet! Thanks!
It’s still completely unaccessible on my phone… This renewal is starting to look like Vatican II.
