I haven’t been able to post about the feeder for a while now.
Here are a few shots from today.
There are quite a few Robins around. They hang out around the trees with drying fruit, bushes with berries.
Decisions.
Whatever their faults may be, these birds do catch your eye.
Perhaps this is a Junco version of Bad?
Chickadee Exultant.
Yes, the Woodpecker left plenty for you.
Just nice.
During the winter, as during the other seasons of the year, they will eat only from your donations.
No Cardinals today? (I hear some are floating around.)
Henry: LOL!
Thanks, Fr. Z! I needed this after a long, slow day.
Are we getting an all-cardinal feeder feed after the consistory? ;-)
No wonder the chickadee is happy; no one is challenging him (or her).
Beautiful bird pictures, Father. I was noticing that you are requesting donations to feed your birds. Our little school here in La Crosse, WI, Providence Academy, is having its first annual birdseed fundraising sale. If your readers are interested, they could buy the seed through us and we could send it to you.
Lovely sight. It is a much needed respite from so much ugliness in our times. (? NY Times.)
The birds are beautiful, especially Mr. Woodpecker and Blue Jays. Hey, tell that Junco to knock off the dancing. (Another ugly incident.)
But, thank you, Fr. Z, for sharing the great photos. I love the last one.
How I miss Bluejays and Chickadeeedeeeedeeees! (And Cardinals!) We can’t have a bird feeder due to the gale force winds that A) blow all the seed away, B) Blow the birds off of the feeder perches, and C) Eventually blow the feeder away as well. Orkney be windy.
Before you set in for the winter, Father — have you been able to get a good, working heated birdbath? That’s a good way to attract the birds as well in the winter.
Random: I don’t, really. No. I should look into that. I have a heater thingy, but I don’t think I can put it in a plastic basin.
Love the birdie pictures, Father Z! You sure had quite the variety!
Henry Edwards’ ‘Cardinals’ comment was funny. I think he had the ‘human’ variety of Cardinal in mind when he wrote it, considering the news out of Rome today. Loved it, Henry!
Most of the birds here in upstate New York have ‘flown the coop’ for warmer climes. I see-and hear- geese as they fly overhead. The only bird sounds ‘on the ground’ are from the crows with their incessant ‘cawing’.
The Robins will be shortly on their way to Texas. We will have thousand as winter starts up north. I always enjoy the pretty birds you have at your feeders Father.
