Obama’s Pro-Abortion Record: The List Goes On and On..

Dear LifeNews.com Readers,

Today, LifeNews.com updated our exclusive and extensive listing of the pro-abortion and anti-life actions President Barack Obama has taken in two and a half years since taking over the White House.

Some say that a president doesn’t have much effect on issues like abortion, embryonic stem cell research, or promoting abortion abroad. But Obama has proven otherwise — as he’s forced Americans to spend millions of embryonic stem cell research, taxpayer-funded abortions, and spent tens of millions promoting a new Constitution in Kenya that legalized abortions there.

He’s pushed Obamacare and pushed abortion funding and paying for drugs that can cause abortions in Obamacare, refused to de-fund Planned Parenthood, cozied up with pro-abortion leaders, and put staunch anti-life activists in key policy positions and judgeships who will have an impact on pro-life laws for a generation.

In the a few short months since our last update of this important Obama Abortion Record document, here’s what he’s done:

April 11, 2011 – Refuses Speaker John Boehner’s request to cut taxpayer funding to the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

April 14, 2011 – Obama administration castigates The Vatican over family planning.

April 19, 2011 – Obama Easter breakfast has pro-abortion religious leaders.

May 2, 2011 – Report shows the Obama administration met with abortion advocates during consideration of Obamacare.

May 10, 2011 – Senate confirms pro-abortion Obama judicial pick Edward Chen.

May 11, 2011 – Obama schmoozes with Planned Parenthood abortion business president, Cecile Richards.

May 17, 2011 – Obama administration targets peaceful pro-life advocate for prosecution.

May 19, 2011 – Names pro-abortion Morgan Christen to a federal appeals court position.

June 1, 2011 – Denies Indiana’s request to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

June 2, 2011 – Obama administration approves more taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell research.

June 17, 2011 – Defends forcing taxpayers to fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business in court.

July 7, 2011 – Report shows Obama policies resulted in 300 tax-funded abortions in Washington, D.C.

July 21, 2011 – Demands that New Hampshire make taxpayers fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

July 21, 2011 – Fines a peaceful pro-lifer $25,000.

August 1, 2011 – Forces insurance companies to pay for abortion drugs under Obamacare.

August 19, 2011 – Obama administration found to have spent taxpayer funds promoting pro-abortion Obamacare during the 2010 elections.

August 19, 2011 — Obama administration approves more taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell research.

August 22, 2011 – Vice President Joe Biden fails to condemn China’s one-child, forced abortion policy.

August 23, 2011 — Obama administration calls children “sexual beings,” pushes sex on them.

Just to think abortion and even contraception were illegal just 60 years ago…

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Patroness of the Americas who by your prayers successfully converted ancient Mexico from its baby-sacrificing paganism, pray that your Son quickly free our country from its false sense of freedom, restore the reign of Christ in all hearts, and promote a culture that praises the Source of Life, your Son, with one unanimous: Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus! Amen!

  2. Shoshana says:

It is time to get serious about reclaiming states’ rights, and to turn down any Federal money that requires a compromise of our morals. If state governments seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, resources to meet the needs of the people will follow.

  3. Mundabor says:

This is what happens when people elect a president merely in order to “feel good”.

Not even in Italy have I ever seen a person with such little experience or significant achievement reach the top of the political spectrum.

Thankfully, the occasion to remedy to this disaster will come in a bit more than a year.

Well, I suppose it went as it should have, but Obama’s little chat with Benedict XVI a few years ago doesn’t seem to have produced much fruit…that is edible, so to speak!

Thank you for this post, Fr. Z. I highly recommend that folks subscribe to Life Site News’ newsletter. I do and I share it with our respect life ministry and with all my family, etc. The more
everyone knows what is going on with this admisitration perhaps they will realize that it’s time for a change and that this administrations policies must end. Please God, let it be so.

  6. Peggy R says:

While it may sound cold and harsh, I dubbed Obama “President Death” early on. He is cold. He is detached from human suffering. I have seen it time and again on abortion; not willing to protect infants born alive; to a lady at a healthcare summit (Rush talks about it often) that her mom’s will to live is irrelevant; utilitarian view of ESCR; wanting to end the wars so he can use the money at home, not for soldiers’ wellbeing. We could go on ad nauseum.

This was the price that “social justice” Catholics paid for their vote. Are they still on board? Was it worth it?

Even a longtime associate was quote in an O-friendly book that O was the most “unsentimental” person he’d ever met. That’s an understatement.

  7. Mike Morrow says:

One may be certain while attending a bug-nini terato-mass in the U.S., that a large majority of those in the congregation and (sadly) in the sanctuary, self-styled Saints of Social Justice, will again vote for more of the same.

  8. irishgirl says:

    Ugh-what an ugly record.
May we have the sense to vote this guy out of office come next year!
He is a cold, cold man….

  9. DisturbedMary says:

The Democrat party has become the party of death. It’s not just Obama. It’s not just one Dem, or a few here and there. You can’t even take baby steps in the party if you’re not pro-death. Catholics must be one-issue voters. And that issue is life. If not, we are cooperating with the killers, God help us.

  10. mrose says:

I used to not take much of an interest in politics, buy into the criticism that “the Right” is maniacally obsessed with abortion and/or gay “marriage,” etc. But when I really started thinking about these things and taking a deeper look, I became horrified. That abortion is the pre-eminent “social justice issue” (if we have to use that line) seems crystal-clear.

With respect to Shoshana, and others, however, I think Americans are overly optimistic about all of this. You (and I) live in a country founded upon religious indifferentism and founded by a bunch of Freemasons; it is a country that exists because of the rejection of Christian culture. While that doesn’t mean that abortion or gay “marriage” are really religious issues, if you erode the foundation and then obliterate it, then it’s not hard to see why these things go as they have. So sure, I hope we get a less worse President who chooses to not fund abortion with taxpayer money in any form, etc. etc., but let’s not pretend that all is fine and dandy if that happens.

  11. Bob says:

When Obama was campaigning I identified him as the personification of evil and was chastised for being so uncharitablein making such a statement, how dare I as a Catholic! I heard several sermons during his campaign depicting Obama as the savior of the poor, not much mention of his abortion views from the pulpit though. Oh well, we got what we deserved I suppose. It will take generations to recover from his pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-illegal alien, anti-constitutional agenda; if we ever do recover.

  12. Shoshana says:

mrose: My ancestors, who helped found the colony that became the states of New York and New Jersey, were strong Christians. There are many faithful people in this country. For one proof, take a look at the righteous laws some states have passed lately. Unfortunately, those laws are being squashed by the Federal government. We need to take back the power the Constitution gives us, and pray and not despair.

  13. benedetta says:

The things that were promising on prolife, such as what Kmeic and Catholics for Pres. Obama said and the various assertions in Catholic media regarding prolife and voting Democrat, seem to have been just abandoned. Taking Kmeic at his word, and taking the President at his word in saying abortion ought to be rarely occurring, what seems clear is that there is a very moneyed, elitist and empowered lobby for, of all things, abortion. So much for choice. If lobbying to have more and more of it, so much as possible is going on, contrary to the acknowledgment of now a majority of Americans, and is so fearsome and intimidating to our political leaders who even have signaled openness to dialogue, such that we cannot now even have that dialogue, then the culture of death is really quite entrenched, and, true to its insatiability and its agenda of death, has zero relating really to women and women’s needs and everything to do with big abortion. When limits and sensible discussion cannot be engaged in and people get threatened just for the asking, then one can be sure that it is not about choice or reason at all and is dysfunction out of control.

  14. Jerry says:

We need to have more people praying Abp. Carroll’s Prayer for Government:

We pray Thee, O God of might, wisdom, and justice! Through Whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the President of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality.

  15. Supertradmum says:

So, why do some Catholics, including priests, deacons and monks, continue to support this man? Just wondering…
