- Prosper of Aquitaine (+c.455), De gratia Dei et libero arbitrio contra Collatorem 22.61

“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”
- Fulton Sheen

A monthly subscription donation means I have steady income I can plan on. I put you my list of benefactors for whom I pray and for whom I often say Holy Mass.
In view of the rapidly changing challenges I now face, I would like to add more $10/month subscribers. Will you please help?

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

Prayer Before Using The Internet HERE
Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The constitutional check on executive misbehavior is impeachment by the House, and trial by the Senate. Anyone see that as even a slight possibility? I didn’t think so.
He’s trampled the 1st Amendment, but Congress has for decades trampled the 10th. Can the trampling of the 22nd be far behind?
The founding fathers were very bright guys who saw checks and balances as the best means of holding off government tyranny. Even so, they knew it was only a matter of time until the government would throw off its shackles, and move inevitably toward tyranny.
The Church can be a thorn in Obama’s side, and he knows it. Neutralizing the Church has to be a priority high on his list. I pray he has miscalculated in thinking he can do it now….
Deo juvente, the serial killer Taliban of Toulouse is upon to be caught by the french special forces. Thanks God.
Leave it to him to not be able to distinguish between an ordinary bishop and a cardinal.
This cartoon is about as bad as the one published during the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State, where it showed a bishop ‘passing off’ a child [like a football] to a football coach.
Another reason why Obama HAS to be defeated this November!
Remember that tomorrow, noon local time, is the “Stand Up For Religious Freedom” rally. I plan to attend the one in St. Paul.
Correction to my comment above: the Stand up for Religious Freedom rally is on FRIDAY (not tomorrow) in cities across the country, at noon local time.
Why is anyone not paying attention to the actions of this man? The original writers of the Constitution, whether Masons or Deists, look like rational saints compared to POTUS….
I think lots of us are paying attention, Supertradmum, but the ones with the legal authority to act are in Congress. I am baffled by the apparently complete unwillingness of Congress to face the reality that with each new violation of the Constitution by O, they are complicit in their failure to act.
Supertradmum, wmeyer,
Obviously Congress is trying to develop a new source of clean energy involving the US’s founding fathers.
How can it be that the bishop appears so surprised?
Because Clinton, most of the bishops and half the rest of the country were totally suckered by this president and the Democrat party, and many of them still don’t have the common sense and cajones to admit it. The progressives have gotten so bold and so extreme that they feel they are big enough to go it without the Church, after having used her like a cheap floozie for decades, and so they offend her openly with their filth because they think they can. It shows where they think power comes from; in fact, it shows where they think power has always come from. The Church has been duped.
The progressives in this country are NOT friends of the Church, and haven’t been for a great long time. Catholics, however, have been very slow on the uptake. Catholics should be neither bought-and-paid-for progressives or conservatives; they should be independents, viewing the culture with the eyes of the Church, rather than the other way around. God is the ultimate ruler worthy of our allegiance; not man.
However, lots of people aren’t paying attention, unfortunately. Good friends of mine, catholic (small “c”) don’t see any problem at all with the HHS mandate, and are big Obama supporters. My own husband, a Lutheran, doesn’t see any religious infringement at all with this mandate, thinks the Church needs to “get with the times.” *sigh* (Yes, prayers would be appreciated.) Many other friends and acquaintances of mine, aren’t even interested in the subject and can’t even be bothered to vote… Sometimes I despair. Yet, I know it’s all in Our Lord’s hands, and I continue to pray.
The great irony is that O was pretty open about what he wished to do to the country before half of the Catholics voted for him. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear were apparently not using them, but believing instead what they wished he had said.
