Have there been any suggestions that the Pope might act against Cardinal Mahoney in a way as to exclude him? Is that possible?
The rush of this whole thing and the timetable gives me a chill. Fr. Z, maybe we should all pray together — to St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and Terror of Demons — that God’s perfect will be done in this matter.
Massachusetts Catholic, all history is speeding up. This is merely part of the whole
How prophetic, Fr. Z.
Your last post before THIS historic announcement was:
“Getting ready for the FLOOD in Blackfen (“fen” means “swamp”, right?)”
There will be a FLOOD, indeed, in this spiritual “swamp” we are in.
“Apres moi, le deluge”
Little did we know of the coming FLOOD the very next day.
I am stunned speechless, a time for prayer and fasting.
I feel like an orphan. May God have mercy on us.
Oh, Supertradmum, why do I wish someone else but you had made that comment? Somehow, it makes it very real when Fr. Z, our own holy priests, or others I respect, acknowledge so clearly the times in which we live. Can someone be sad and encouraged at the same time? Too foggy today to come up with a word for it.
Hi,
Please forgive the tangent, but I have a question completely unrelated to the papal resignation, prompted by the picture of the calendar in this post.
I presume the figures below the name of the month indicate times for sunrise and sunset, moon phases, etc. But what does “Ave Maria ore 17,45” indicate? I had this question the last time I saw one of these images, but never got around to asking. Though I tried, I couldn’t figure it out from an internet search (I don’t think I know what to search for!).
Thanks!
But what does “Ave Maria ore 17,45? indicate?
Angelus at quarter to six in the evening maybe?!?!
Good question, dn.philip.mathew.
I didn’t know either. I did an internet search and came across this: Ave Maria della sera (suono delle campane che annunciano l’inizio del giorno liturgico): “Evening Hail Mary (bells ring to announce the beginning of the liturgical day).” I think that jhnewman is right, it has to do with the evening Angelus.
