Vanishing Transparency, Disappearing Freedom

In other news, under the Obama Adminstration statists’ dreams are coming true!

Survey: U.S. press freedom plunges under Obama to 46th in world, after Romania

The Obama administration’s handling of whistleblower Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency leaks and the investigation of a string of leaks produced a plunge in the country’s rating on press freedoms and government openness, according to a global survey released Tuesday.
The U.S. under President Obama, who once promised to run the “most transparent” administration in the country’s history, fell from 32nd to 46th in the 2014 World Press Freedom Index, a drop of 13 slots. The index, compiled by the press advocacy group Reporters Without Borders, analyzes 180 countries on criteria such as official abuse, media independence and infrastructure to determine how free journalists are to report.
Officials of the group said press freedoms were under attack around the world as governments grow increasingly sophisticated in collecting sensitive data and in tracking down those who leak it.
“Journalists are being caught up in what is, I think, fairly characterized as a rapidly growing surveillance apparatus, and this is happening all over the world,” said Geoffrey King, Internet advocacy coordinator for the Committee to Protect Journalists.

The EU passed a law last week which deems that any criticisms against lgtb lifestyles can be prosecuted. Every European state has to approve this bill individually but I think only Poland and maybe one or two others will not agree to this. Bloggers, journalism, teachers, catechists, priests, bishops will all be prosecuted ergo persecuted.

It will come here. And those in power have been given so much power and taken so much power that they feel immune from either organized dissent, such as the religious groups, or from God Himself. This is key. These people in this administration, and some others before them, know, not just believe, they are above the law-either the natural law, which they do not believe in at all, or governmental law.

Please pray for me and for Fr. Z, for all bloggers, as we are the weakest link in the information chain. We shall be targeted.

This is getting out of control. When does Obama get out, 2016? I wonder how the next president will be able to clean this mess up…

The Republicans will put forth another weak candidate, and the Democrat candidate will be selected specifically on the platform of not cancelling out one jot of the Obama presidency.

I pray that this doesn’t begin a new “1776”, even though I feel it in my bones. Blood will be shed.

Not a bright decade coming up. Time is getting late to get my soul clean and ready so I best be with it.

It is pretty sad when our press freedom falls behind a former Communist country. I will say that we do it to ourselves. I believe we have many good journalists that could speak out and make a difference but won’t. This is very similar to a lot of our Priests (present company excluded Father Z). It is time to make a stand, and that time will rapidly fade if something isn’t done soon.

But you guys… Russia is being so mean to gay people… look over there! At them! Just look!

Meanwhile the Post Office is buying ammunition…

  8. Ben Kenobi says:

Already dropped one journalist who already started taking his free shots. It’s sad when someone who thinks he knows which way the wind blows decides to turn against, “the enemy”.
