The five-year-old who testified to the Knock apparition
Today [21 August 2017] is the 138th anniversary of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin, along with St Joseph, St John the Evangelist and a lamb, in the village of Knock, County Mayo.?
Over fifty years after those events in rural west of Ireland, the Mother Superior of a home run by The Little Sisters of the Poor on East 70th Street, New York, was reading an article about the apparition. She turned to an Irishman? living in the home, who also served on the altar there, and asked whether he knew where Knock was. He said yes.
Mother Henri (who was also Irish) then asked whether he knew one of the visionaries? who, like him, was called John Curry. He said yes again.
And then he added: “He is the John Curry that serves Mass for you in this home every morning.” Up until that moment, the Mother Superior had had no idea that a visionary from Knock was living under her roof.

About about what happened to him over there. It’s great.
God works in beautiful mysterious ways.
What sets Knock apart from other apparitions of Our Lady (in particular certain alleged apparitions) is that the whole event was silent. I guess for those that love and those that believe words are not really necessary.
I heard that the Archdiocese (Tuam) has put forward the Parish Priest of the time, Archdeacon Cavanagh, for canonisation. There’s more here: https://www.knockshrine.ie/history/archdeacon-cavanagh/.
At Knock, Lourdes, and Fatima, all the visionaries seemed to have been Infused with the grace of humility in a way that was expressed in every aspect of their lives without fail from the time of the visions onward, which one might expect to be the natural result of a rational being encountering the Ineffable Majesty of the Almighty. The consistency of the grace in their several lives over the centuries predisposes to a Coherentist Epistomology regarding such personal revelations. Where this grace is absent, its absence predisoses one to a kind Incoherentist Skepticisim.
Bu¡ochas le Dia.
I wouldn’t go near a particular alleged apparition site when I was in the neighborhood. Have since learned that alleged apparition spoke against the bishop.
I wouldn’t go near a particular alleged apparition site when I was in the neighborhood. Have since learned that alleged apparition spoke against the Bishop. Kills me that Mary, who counsels Bernadette to obey the Bishop, even when she has promised Mary to visit the site and Bishop says no, to obey the Bishop.
I believe the Beauraing apparition was also a silent one; and there have been many others that I cannot recall. Just seeing a glow that directs people to miraculous statues or icons is pretty common, too.
