I’m entirely convinced that this blog is badly treated by Google.

Google Staff Reacts to Kavanaugh: ‘F—. YOU. ALL. TO. HELL.’
It’s hard to believe that people with political agendas are capable of building unbiased products. Google certainly faces that test.
After Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court on Saturday, October 6, several employees and executives at Google expressed their rage on Twitter. Design lead Dave Hogue tweeted, “You are finished, GOP. You polished the final nail for your own coffins. F[***]. YOU. ALL. TO. HELL. I hope the last images burned into your slimy, evil, treasonous retinas are millions of women laughing and clapping and celebrating as your souls descend into the flames.”
Later, Hogue deleted the tweet and posted, “Yes, those opinions are mine personally, and I am responsible for them. Yes, I should have been more eloquent and less condemning. Yes, I still believe the @GOP is wrong and not serving your best interests. Yes, I still believe we can do much better.”
He wasn’t alone in his stance. Other Google employees had similar opinions. Google Ventures partner and product manager Ken Norton shared a tweet promoting a PAC to tell Senator Collins to vote no on Kavanaugh. He also tweeted, “Abolish the Senate.” Someone in charge of funding new technology projects wants to alter the branches of the government to suit his needs. That’s concerning.
Julia Ferraioli, an OpenSource Senior Developer Advocate at Google, responded to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s quote, “These things always blow over.” She wrote, “We will prove you wrong,” and then later tweeted that while she had planned to go protest at the Capitol, she could not because of illness.
Google was quoted by Fox News as saying, “What employees say in their personal capacity has no bearing on the way we build or operate our products.”

Wasn’t there just a midwestern college professor fired because of a tweet or email from about 4 years ago when he wrote that in his opinion women should not wear pants? Oh, that is different somehow, right? But a leftist can post about killing, maiming, and persecuting those they disagree with and not one thing happens. Scary.
It is a truism to not cook angry for the anger gets into the food and ruins the dish.
To say that employees’ own personalities do not have a bearing on the products that they produce is silly — especially when it is a creative product such as code, which is just as much an art as it is a science — like cooking.
This is especially true of Google as Google doesn’t create products in a dictated top-down style but creates and codes in a collaborative team-based environment. That is the hallmark of all things Google.
This can’t be the start of anybody’s concerns about how the views of companies that specialize in the management of data we all use might affect how that data is handled and presented to us. This doesn’t change my view of Google. It fits what I already expected. If anyone believes there is any large business in the US free from significant numbers of employees with similar views, you might want to reconsider how you arrived at that expectation. This is simply a reflection of the US society as a whole right now.
Of course, the closing of Mr. Hogue’s comment is utterly reprehensible, but I already knew that ideals about trying to understand other people’s viewpoints, motivations, and even failings are imperfectly practiced by most people.
With regards to the basic fact that he is upset: I think we would be well served to keep in mind that these people believe we just appointed an attempted rapist to the Supreme Court. While there’s little more than one person’s word against another, and political biases influencing everybody’s credulity and level of conviction one way or the other, that is the conclusion millions of people have arrived at.
For anybody who genuinely believes that, how could their response be anything short of being outraged? I would be highly disturbed by anybody who believes the accusations against Justice Kavanaugh and was not angry, which would be a righteous anger.
The problem I see is the response is beyond righteous anger, and is downright hateful. Hate is an attitude I would bet many of these people claim to reject, but here it is.
• Google just eliminated Google+ because of security breaches they told no one about.
• Google is working hand in hand with Communist China on censorship of the web in China.
• Google refuses to work with the U.S. military.
Use Bing as your search engine, right now Microsoft isn’t as bad as Google. Or use Duck Duck Go, or StartPage for additional privacy. There is also Qwant.

I don’t agree that Google reflects the thinking of the nation as a whole. Otherwise, Trump would never have won the election in 2016. I think the people who voted for Trump did so to stop the country going in the direction it had been going. It was an effort to take the country back. You can bring up the popular vote versus the electoral votes, but the difference between Trump and Clinton in the popular vote was only about 3 million votes.
Secondly, I think you give the ululating opposition too much credit for nobility of motive. I doubt that the hard left sincerely believes the accusations against Justice Kavanaugh, or even cares whether they were true. They just want to thwart Trump, and protect the courts as an institution that advances their agenda. They have spent decades proving that (a) they really don’t have a problem with sexual deviancy, and (b) ideology for them always trumps the good and the legitimate interests of flesh-and-blood human beings.

What I mean by my statement is not that Google has a singular position that represents the majority view of the US. I mean that Google employees come from the full range of views represented by the US population as a whole. There’s a lot of people angry about this situation across the US. Similarly, we should expect there to be a lot of people angry about the situation at Google.

Perhaps, but I don’t actually give them much credit for nobility. I plan for there to be many outright dishonest people in both parties, but I also default to presuming that the intentionally dishonest are the minority (even if often the ringleaders), and in most cases, what looks like malice is more likely ignorance and unrecognized bias. Thus, I expect a person with a strong left-leaning political inclination to be more likely to conclude the accusations against Justice Kavanaugh are true, and act according to that conclusion, which would and should be with anger.
Unfortunately, that happens on both sides. As an example, last week, I heard multiple conservative coworkers discussing the topic and jointly conclude, “Ford doesn’t matter anyways. Kavanaugh is past the statute of limitations.” That is to say, two of my fellow conservatives had decided (a) they really don’t have a problem with sexual deviancy and (b) ideology trumped the good and the legitimate interests of flesh-and-blood human beings. That the laws of men provided an out even if it could be shown that the accusations are true was enough for them.
St. Thomas Aquinas discusses a phrase translated as “certain malice” in his explanation of the sin against the Holy Spirit (S.T. II-II, q. 14). For a while this commentator could not figure out what exactly was meant by “certain malice”.
But eventually, mainly through reading statements from the Left -“The Resistance”, “Antifa”, “The Women’s March”, and now the anti-Kavanaugh crowd – it became clear what he meant by “certain malice”.
The statement above from the Google Design lead is “certain malice”: “F[***]. YOU. ALL. TO. HELL. I hope the last images burned into your slimy, evil, treasonous retinas are millions of women laughing and clapping and celebrating as your souls descend into the flames.”
Most, if not all, Leftists almost regularly commit the sin against the Holy Spirit and are likely on the way to hell. This is not something that we Catholics gloat about. We regularly pray and fast for your conversions.
On a side note, though, the above sin against the Holy Spirit was uttered by a Leftist person in a high up position within one of the most powerful entities in the world.
Can you imagine if that Google staff member was employed by the FBI or your local, state, or national law enforcement?
Law enforcement – particularly those involved with surveillance – has to be staffed by the computer techie people. And it is likely that many of the techie people are Leftists with the same Sin-against-the-Holy-Spirit mentality as that shown above.
Would these Leftists in law enforcement do evil things if they were presented with the opportunity? Think about it. Then check all of your electronic devices to see if you can determine whether or not they are being surveilled or otherwise hacked.
Unrepentant Leftists – including those who vote in favor of Leftists – cannot get to heaven. A vote for a Leftist is a blatant denial of Jesus, and Jesus says that those who deny Him He will also deny before the Angels on Judgment Day.

We use Bing. We have used it for a few years and don’t miss Google. Also Bing does not track you or sell your data.
Obama’s presidency was a miserable time for us. We really did not like his presidency or him personally, frankly. Too divisive. But at no time did we start lathering and foaming at the mouth and cursing people or wishing them dead. We carried on with life and hoped for better things. The demonic is being revealed right in front of our eyes. This is not about political differences, it is about the walking dead that are all around us. When you are so soul-dead you are screaming about SCOTUS confirmations and swearing or threatening about political appointments you are in zombie-land. There is a total breakdown in use of reason and logic at play here. It’s all hatred, even violence. I’ve never seen so much hatred at any point in my life in these here United States. I don’t recognize these crazed people as my fellow countrymen. A teacher somewhere just needed to resign, having tweeted the question “ok who is going to take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?”. I mean, kill Kavanaugh. And this is a teacher. I can tell you there is a visceral hatred of Donald Trump in educational circles. People have lost their minds. But it’s so much more than that.
All conservative justices will need to be extremely careful, especially if a Democrat president is elected, because then of course he or she would get to nominate who they want. I do believe these people are thinking along those lines, and murder for revenge or political gain is to them, reasonable. Scary times.
That’s not just outrage. That’s ginned up outrage. I’ve read enough about the “other side” to know a lot of this is fueled by propaganda funded by Soros and other such operators. If “our side” lost would you see such talk? I doubt it.
These people aren’t outraged a rapist is on the Supreme Court. They’re distraught a pro-life Catholic is a Justice now.
It’s about abortion.
It’s curious that he believes in Hell when some of our prelates do not.
If a conservative person were to say what Mr. Hogue said, that person would be tagged as a hater. It would be all over the news and that person would probably receive all kinds of nasty tweets, posts, etc… But Mr. Hogue has the right to HIS free speech, thank goodness for that….He apologizes sort of and keeps going on his merry little way.
Hogue & friends want the senate dismantled when it doesn’t work THEIR way. But it’s ok that the senate votes for things THEY like. Do you see a pattern here?

I do mostly use Bing, because it’s the default in Windows to start with, and also because Microsoft is the more sympathetic company… but let’s face it, Google is, at least at present, still the better search engine, and there are searches that Google will make that Bing doesn’t.

For those not meaning to deny our Lord, nor pursuing an anti-Christian policy themselves, nor favoring the anti-Christian policies of their party except by way of putting up with it in exchange for honest reasons, nor disobeying a specific and tangible ban against a party duly officially enacted by the competent Church authorities (like we had, in the past, for some Communist parties), what you say is not true.

Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Grassley displayed leadership and persistence with the Kavanaugh nomination against the hatred, obscenities, bullying, outbursts, and threats of the Left- some of which were directed at children. Well done to those two senators.
