A mosque at the site of the Battle of Tours!

I saw a really interesting video at Jihad Watch.  It is about the building of a mosque at the site of the super-important Battle of Tours, 25 October 732, where Charles “the Hammer” Martel routed the Islamic invaders.

A mosque at the site of the Battle of Tour.

In the video, head of the project (I assume) talks about it also as a cultural center.  That’s when a loud gong went off in my head.

Some years ago I wrote a post about these “cultural centers” and the ribat.  HERE

That post was about the effort to build a mosque at Ground Zero in NYC, where the Twin Towers fell.

In that previous post, I link to commentary by Amir Taheri.   He described the situation of the NYC mosque from the point of view of Islam.  To wit:

Should there be a mosque near Ground Zero? In fact, what is pro posed is not a mosque — nor even an “Islamic cultural center.

In Islam, every structure linked to the faith and its rituals has a precise function and character. A mosque is a one-story gallery built around an atrium with a mihrab (a niche pointing to Mecca) and one, or in the case of Shiites two, minarets.

Other Islamic structures, such as harams, zawiyyahs, husseinyiahs and takiyahs, also obey strict architectural rules. Yet the building used for spreading the faith is known as Dar al-Tabligh, or House of Proselytizing.

[…]

In fact, the proposed structure is known in Islamic history as a rabat — literally a connector. The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word “raid”). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat — or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias.  Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

[…]

I think that is what is going on with this building at the site of the Battle of Tours.

Sts. Nunilo and Alodia, pray for us.

People are by and large uneducated about the history of Islam and Christianity and how importing millions of adherents of Islam will negatively impact your nation. It is incomprehensible how this can be promoted by anyone with the slightest understanding of history and fact, even more so within the church! Muslims have long memories, Christians unfortunately, do not.

The site of the battle is not Tours but Poitiers.

Reading the comments section over there gives one an idea of why the Muslims are winning this battle. We, the west, are all divided.

The Cultural Marxists want multi-culturalism to destroy our christian identity and our culture. They are in bed with the muslims to destroy us and all that is good. God sent his Mother at Fatima, Rome and Akita to tell us to pray for peace and to do penance.

Someone should copy the pregar u video idea to do a series of history lessons especially about the battles fought by Catholics against muslims.

The battle is not over. Oriana Fallaci used her pen to try to defend the West, which was so hard won against invading Muslims, which are invading again. When I was just north of Paris to visit St. Denis, at least 3/4 of the women wear Burkas.

And of course the Muslim mayor of London authorized a baby Trump blimp: https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a22082731/london-baby-trump-balloon-visit/

I didn’t vote this last election cycle, but this isn’t a good sign.

I could talk all day about this–I studied the European Union at Trinity College, Dublin Ireland. I saw women in Burkas even in small towns in Ireland. There are of course Muslim rape gangs in places like Germany. Muslims want to impose Sharia law. This is no joke.

So, according to that video: dubious permits, private meetings, and “right-wing extremists” all add up to why a “Paved with Martyrs” mosque is essential at Tours.

Well, here’s a different news item, from Somalia, in which the terrorist group alShabaab has banned plastic bags. Plastic bags, according to these terrorists, are a threat to the welfare of humans and animals. A news video from the Military Times (the plastic bags are segment 1 of a 3-segment news report):

In the book “The Grand Jihad”- mentioned occasionally by Fr. Z- McCarthy devotes a chapter to the “Minnesota Enclave” (there is also an area there known as “Little Mogadishu”). No doubt there are many fine Somali immigrants trying to start a new life, but there have been numerous problematic news items from the Twin Cities the past few years:

From a Leftist news source, NPR, note the mention of the alShabaab “recruiting infrastructure”:

    https://www.npr.org/2015/02/18/387302748/minneapolis-st-paul-remains-a-focus-of-jihadi-recruiting

Here’s an item about arson at St. Catherine University in St. Paul and attempted terrorist recruiting:

“I definitely never thought that would happen,” added student Allison Monahan.

“St. Kate’s is one of the most inclusive, diverse welcoming schools you can think of.”

Here’s an item from Jihad Watch:

    https://www.jihadwatch.org/2018/04/minneapolis-muslim-cop-who-killed-unarmed-woman-to-plead-self-defense

One more item from Minneapolis (no doubt a fine city and I think Fr. Z’s old stomping grounds). This item from last month is not about constructing a mosque as at Tours, but rather a pagan “community center” (pagans are about 98% Leftist and they do proselytize in their own way):

“The Twin Cities — sometimes called “Paganistan” by Pagan residents — host a large enough number of Pagans that one local group is hoping to create a community center to serve their diverse needs. The Leanaí Na Déithe community center would be a space for classes and rituals, as well as services for the broader community such as a food bank… State nonprofit approval has been obtained, and IRS approval is expected shortly.

“Once space is acquired one of their first projects will be to build a library including books on Paganism, self-help topics, and foreign language learning Pagans often need in order to research their paths.

“The hope is that the center will cause Pagans to coalesce more in the Twin Cities. Many Facebook and Meetup groups exist for members of various traditions, but Barrett said that “the Pagans of this area are organized, but separate,” not interacting much with those who practice differently.”

    https://wildhunt.org/2018/06/pagan-community-center-planned-for-paganistan.html

Just my two cents: with the questionable mosque construction at Tours, alShabaab terrorists in Somalia banning “harmful” plastic bags, and numerous news items from the Twin Cities, it seems Andrew McCarthy and Amir Taheri are on to something.

It’s no coincidence that Card. Ratzinger chose that name for his Pontificate. I think his fruits are some of the best out there.
