THIS IS WAR! Wherein Fr. Z calls on bishops and priests to FIGHT BACK as priests and bishops!

Preliminary note:  For the last two nights, I have had nightmares.  Last night was as bad as anything I have ever had and it was incredibly real.  As I wrote this post, I had the dreaded BSOD.   Hasn’t happened for long time and I was freshly rebooted.  Coincidence?

Under another post, about Akita, Communion in the hand, and homosexuality, I mentioned that certain vile sins – I’ll spare you – invite demons to attach themselves to the people who commit them and to the places where they are committed.

When I travel, one of the first things I do is bless the hotel room or place I am staying with Holy Water blessed with the older, traditional form.

Given that The Present Crisis is grounded in homosexual sins and cover ups by those who perpetrate them, we must also consider the other, dire spiritually corrosive effects of the demonic which of necessity infiltrates when sodomy is committed.  Also, the effects of sodomy will be graver because they also involve sacrilege.   When a priest, a consecrated person, commits sodomy, he also commits the sin of sacrilege, because he is a consecrated person.

Let’s call it…

#sodoclericalism

I suggest that demons revel in that opportunity and tenaciously latch onto any place where sacrilegious sodomy is committed.

If I were a diocesan bishop, I would quietly give all my priests the permission to use Chapter 3 of the traditional Roman Ritual‘s rites of exorcism.

Chapter 3 covers exorcism of places.  I would give the priests permission to use it and then tell them that they should use it

  • in their rectories
  • in the convent if there is one
  • in the offices of the parish
  • on the grounds of the parish
  • in the school if there is one
  • in the sacristy
  • in the church

Si vis pacem para bellum!

Some time ago, I recorded the Latin of Chapter 3 and said that I would make it available to priests who request it.

The Devil hates Latin.  The Devil is also quite legalistic.  It is best to use good, clear Latin at all times when dealing with Hell.

NEVER FORGET:  Just as sacramental effects are not less real just because we can’t see, touch, hear, taste or smell them, so to other supernatural realities, such as the infestation or oppression of the demonic.

Priests are ordained to deal in these insensible supernatural realities more than they are ordained to deal with the administration of material goods, etc.   Anyone can do those things, but only priests and bishops and tackle the supernatural realm.  That’s what priests are really for.

Something important about the priest’s true identity has been obscured by the busyness of his daily life stretched out over years and years and years.   Couple that with the enervating long-term effect of celebration of weakened worship, with its deficient explication of priestly identity, and we have a real problem.

Priests and bishops and lay people alike need to wake up to who the priest is.

Fathers, let’s get some strong cups of traditional Catholic identity coffee and wake up.

THIS IS WAR.

It’s time to dust off and employ all our armor and weapons.  We have to get into the fight as priests who fight back as priests.  We aren’t just anyone.

We’re ALTER CHRISTUS!

And, Fathers, Excellencies…

GO TO CONFESSION!

That’s a preliminary to everything we do.

The rites of the Rituale Romanum are sacramentals.  Confession is a sacrament.  Sacraments are far more effective than sacramentals.

If you know that something really bad happened in a place, it might be a good idea not just to bless it and use Chapter 3.  You might say Mass there.    (Having an altar from St. Joseph’s Apprentice would be handy!)

Si vis pacem para bellum!

Our Lady, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

Agreed! We must consider how many of these disgusting things took place in rectories and surrounding properties. They need a spiritual cleansing.

  2. I agree as well. However, since you mentioned the exorcism in Chapter III, I wanted to give a cautionary note: priests should NOT use it PUBLICLY unless they have the proper permission from their Ordinary. (“Publicly” being any use made by a priest in the name and with the authority of the Church for the benefit of the faithful.) If they attempt to do so without proper permission, that itself can become an “open door” to the demonic. In the past this restriction did not exist, but does now.

A response to a dubium from PCED was made public in January explaining the restriction:

    https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2018/01/dubia-answered-warning-for-priests.html

Be careful, Fathers. Let’s wield the weapons we have, but wield them well. Remember that the devils are legalists.

  3. CatholicinCA says:

What is meant by the devil is legalistic? How can I avoid legalism? I worry this may be something I fall into without realizing…

  4. CatholicinCA says: What is meant by the devil is legalistic?

In general, demons claims a right to be attached to a place, a thing, or a person. They do this because they were “called” (think, for example, Oujia boards or curses) or because of sinful activity. Once they are there, their attachment has to be broken. It’s rather like undoing a contract. All the claims have to be broken down. They have to be identified and they have to be ejected forcefully. Exorcists will say that they go through stages in an exorcism of, especially, persons.

I am the only Catholic on both sides of my family. I have no idea why I became so attached to Our Lady of Akita; I wrote about Her here: https://www.amazon.com/Catholic-Mystical-Tradition-Chris-Conlee/dp/1579216854/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537633025&sr=8-1&keywords=chris+conlee+catholic+mystical+tradition

But, Our Lady said there would be bishop against bishop and then fire would fall from the sky. I take her words seriously. Some say it’s Russia; I think more likely an EMP. Fr. Z doesn’t like me to brag, and pride is a sin. But I do have some insider knowledge into the Federal Government. There is a real fear that an EMP could wipe-out civilization as we know it. https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Out-Cyberattack-Unprepared-Surviving/dp/0553419986/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537633609&sr=8-1&keywords=light+out+ted+koppel

An EMP and a cyber attack have the same effect. Just three major ‘Transformers’ would take-down the entire grid in our Country, except for Texas, which isn’t connected to the Nation’s grid. In either case 90 percent of us would be dead within one year, according do Koppel’s research.

Fr. Z., you made me think of something important. Let’s say an adolescent played with Ouija boards, which were all the rage in the 60’s and 70’s, trying to summon up spirits as kids are apt to do, because they don’t realize what they are playing with. Or used Tarot cards, also the rage at that time.
What should that person do, if anything, many years later?

[Be sure that you have confessed it and received absolution.]

Father I havent been sleeping well in 2 months since around the time the McCarrick stuff was first coming out in force. Waking up at 3 am and not being able to get back to sleep sometimes until it’s time to go to work.

Also, my desktop PC randomly glitches and rebooted this AM too. I dont remember the last time that happened.

  8. No matter where my mom goes she sneaks off and sprinkles holy water everywhere. I was right in the big middle of the sex abuse ordeal in Dallas. One of the priests that was on that St. Sebastian site was at our parish, called himself Tex. After the meeting with a wayward bishop at the parish about him I went the next day and sprinkled holy water and blessed salt in the church and around it. The next day he was gone. He’d left in the middle of the night. Not too long after that the pastor was gone and was replaced by a very holy priest. Not too long after that the bishop was gone. He is no longer a bishop. While I sprinkled I prayed the prayer to St. Michael along with my friend. Two were gathered!

I ordered 200 each “Mary, Queen of the Clergy” prayer cards and will be making them available at Mass for free!

  11. Rob83 says:

Sometimes there is a palpable sense that something is not right. I had that experience in Rome one night many years ago. A man approached, grasped the cup I was holding, said a few words I didn’t understand, smiled and went his way. To this day I cannot explain why my reaction was to feel like it was an extremely bad idea to take another sip of the drink, drop the cup like it was a hot potato in the nearest trash, and flee home to seek out the holy water.

  12. maternalView says:

My old parish has been dying for years and I’m not quite sure how or why it’s still around. They have once a week Eucharist adoration and they’ve had reasonably traditional priests. Nothing they do seems to help. I’ve long wondered if the presence of the homosexual pastor that was there for several years before he was transferred has had a lasting effect on that parish? One of the reported abuses occurred at that parish.

  13. WmHesch says:

Is any permission at all needed for exorcisms of places (infestation)? CIC 1172 seems specifically limited to energumens

  14. arcillajohn says:

I too have been having nightmares, of a demonic nature too.

  15. allenr74 says:

What can a lay person do when staying in a hotel room? Just sprinkle holy water around the room? Is there a prayer we can say too? Prayer to St. Michael, perhaps?

  16. Kathleen10 says:

Fr. Z., thank you for reminding us of these now ignored realities. Most Catholics would not hear of such things except here.

  17. snegopad says:

    allenr74,
as someone said here , (in an other post), use Exorzised Salt,
the rite for making it is in the Rituale Romanum, e.g.: https://www.sanctamissa.org/en/resources/books-1962/rituale-romanum/48-blessings-for-special-days-and-feasts.html
The Latin form is found in the Rituale Romanum.

  18. bibi1003 says:

Rob83, that is really scary. That made me think of something similar (and likely diabolical) that happened to Randall Sullivan, as described in his book The Miracle Detective. Sullivan was a writer for Rolling Stone and was sent to Medjugorje to debunk the apparitions and then write about it. He ended up having a spiritual conversion there. While he was on the assignment and still trying to figure out if God was real, he traveled to Rome. He was sitting on the Piazza Navona and noticed a man walking into the piazza from the opposite end. He was handsome and stylishly dressed, but the look on his face was one of utter hatred and contempt. He watched Sullivan as he walked toward him through the crowd, but Sullivan noticed that the other people acted as if they couldn’t see the man. When he finally reached Sullivan, he gave him a look that was pure evil and said, “Catch you later.”

  19. KateD says:

    Father,
Would you please reiterate the danger of layity praying the Saint Michael Prayer…and make clear the distinction between the two prayers, the one we pray after Mass vs. the other. Praying it, even carefully or innocently when one hasn’t the authority to do so will not just open a door to the enemy, it will allow the enemy to blow the whole house down. Would you also suggest the remedy for one who has unwittingly prayed what they don’t have the authority to.

    Atra Dicenda, Rubra Agenda~
You are being called to be a prayer warrior. Say a rosary and you will be able to go right back to sleep.

  20. Imrahil says:

    Dear KateD,

for me, there is only one St Michael prayer that might be called The St Michael prayer, which is: Holy Archangel Michael, defend us in battle, etc. (And only one other I know, which is a song and goes like: Invincibly strong hero, St. Michael, etc.) I take it that this is the “prayer we pray after Mass” you speak of which is not problematic for laity to pray. Is that right?

  21. un-ionized says:

Imrahil, the St. Michael prayer which is short enough to be memorized easily isn’t the entire prayer, which can be found in the 1952 Raccolta. It is very interesting, especially with regard to the reference to people who “have laid profane hands on her most sacred treasures.”

  22. KateD says:

    Dear Imrahil,

Yes this prayer is great to say:

“Archangel Michael defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil, May God rebuke him, we humbly pray….”

The other, that talks about smoke and wax, is also great, but for priests ONLY. Despite what it says before it in a missal, even if you omit the part with directions for priests, it is NOT a prayer for the laity. Father Z has written about this in the past. The demonic, being legalistic, use a lay person reciting it as an opportunity to mess with them. They make that person’s suffering a priority…and the person having done what they shouldn’t, places themself under the authority of the demonic (Think: Edmund ~ Turkish Delight ~ White Witch).

For any lay person who has prayed it, I was told Confession is the remedy. Also, those 54 day novenas that are prayed by lots of the faithful seem to have the effect of pushing the demonic back on their heels and allows people suffering from attacks to be let up for air, so to speak. That’s why I assume if we pray collectively for our priests, bishops and popes, it will provide them some much needed relief. Because they are CONSTANTLY a target of attack. And though priests have authority over demons (especially when they wear their stole, the mantle of Christ), many are poorly trained and do not understand or even know about it.

Please Fathers, put on your stoles, grab some exorcized water and go bless those praying on side walks…..stop for three minutes and bless those people. Bishops, bless the places; Claim them for Our Lord’s Heavenly Kingdom. These are battles that CAN BE WON, but showing up is 99% of the battle, the other 1% is USING YOUR GOD ORDAINED WEAPONS.

I know some priests who say they don’t get into that stuff. It reminds me of, at best, a substitute teacher who allows the class to run amok or worse, the sheriff in the old westerns who, out of cowardice or complicity, turns a blind eye to the actions of the bad guys…it always kinda seems like they are complicit, even when they are just cowards. There is no place for cowardice (nor complicity) behind a badge, nor a collar. It’s just the wrong line of work for that expression of human frailty.

Priests need to imprint on the priest from Angels with Dirty Faces…or maybe the one that is the chaplain for the big fella (after the vote in Ireland, I refuse to give him free publicity) in Kingdom of Heaven. This is WAR! You are fighting for God’s children, the souls of men. Think of the gratitude when you deliver your wayward brothers and sisters safely home to your Heavenly Father.

  23. Imrahil says:

Thanks, dear KateD, I asked because I don’t know any other that talks about smoke and wax (or other things).

(After all, the blessing of the incense, which only calls for his intercession, does not mention wax.)
